Am I actually being unreasonable?

Santa came to see my sons class today and they all received a book. They are all 7/8. Son is 7, 8 next summer.

He has recieved this book and doesn't understand it at all. Nor find it engaging. Just strikes me as an odd present for a child struggling in Maths. Maybe for year 6 at a push.

Or is it actually good? Anyone read it?

It’s just a gift ??
do what you do with any unwanted gift regift or charity shop

you are being massively unreasonable to expect the school to handpick books taking into account each child strengths and weaknesses and likes and dislikes

I’d think a money business type book is good to incorage a maths weak child

It looks like a world book day book. A quick google tells me it’s aimed at 7 to 9 year olds so perfect for a class of 7 and 8 year olds.

Just like any book, if an adult or older sibling takes the time to sit and read it with them, they'll either like it or they won't.

It's a free world book day book. Looks like school have tried to do something nice for the children with limited funding.

You haven't said if all children had the same book, if they were specifically picked for each child or if there was an element of random selction involved (I am guessing the latter).
