It seems they've cruised along nicely. Thank you tax payer. 20 holidays in 1 year

Do their own their 10 bedroom home or is it a council home?

Back in the olden days 1994 to 2010 the government used to pay your mortgage for you as if it were housing benefit. Given it’s in a relatively cheap area. If they were on tax credits it’s highly likely that the government basically bought them the 10 bedroom house.

Not even homework, what about time for cuddles and bedtime stories and helping them get dressed or listening to their day, how can anyone do that every day for each child with so many children?

They don't. It's pretty well known that the older girls become mother figures to the younger children. It's pretty sad.

exactly!
Average cost to the state of a birth is about £7500, more for a c-section. Times 22 = £165,000
Average cost to the state of educating a child is £7,460 a year. Times 14 = £104,440 per child. Times that by 22 = £2,297,680

And that's not counting nursery subsidies, any child benefit, doctors appointments, etc.

Do people really think a small bakery would have paid more than TWO AND A HALF MILLION POUNDS in taxes? 🙄

The magic bakery 😂

People are so naive. The tax payer paid out a fortune for them before they got successful with their social media and tv career. He’s not Mr Kipling fgs. And giving birth 22 times, sending all those kids to school etc doesn’t come cheap.

Whether or not people directly supervise their children’s homework there is no way either Radford can provide adequate help or support with homework for so many kids, which i remember needing plenty of as a teenager and I was bright and in the top set. Would some of you defending them be happy to leave your kids in childcare where there was a 1:20 staff to child ratio (seeing as Noel is busy baking the magic money pies all day)? My guess is hell no.

Not exactly supervising it, ensuring it gets done. Wonder how easy that would be in a house with so many children around.
I am not a helicopter parent thanks

LER83 · 17/12/2024 18:57

I think a lot of people who follow them now didn't watch 16 kids and counting. I remember that their house was a mess, the kids were feral, the older ones all said they hated it, they used to take the door handles off of a night so the kids couldn't leave their rooms. Noel liked look he did everything whilst Sue walked about laughing as the kids trashed the house! They must have been on benefits then as they were talking about the council having to knock two houses together to make a big enough house for them all. It's only since they started selling themselves on social media/tv that they have made enough money to support everyone.

Well technically it’s rape as a child can’t consent 🤔

Needmorelego · 17/12/2024 21:07

@Another2Cats yes a paedophile is someone attracted to a pre-puberty child.
As Sue became pregnant she was clearly beyond puberty.
Why was he not arrested? In UK law sex with a child is under 13 is automatically classed as rape. Between 13 and 16 each case will be looked at individually. Many 13 - 16 year olds do consent to having sex.
I assume social services became involved as she was pregnant. Somebody made the decision not to arrest him. We (the public) don't actually know what the authorities/social services involvement was.
I'M NOT SAYING IT WAS RIGHT WHAT HE DID.
But I wouldn't call him a "paedophile".

Another2Cats · 17/12/2024 20:48

Fedupmumofadultsons · 17/12/2024 20:14

I don't care what they do but I do care that folk forget that he was technically a pedophile she was about 14/15 and he was 18 when first child born .why do folk celebrate this .because they eventually married .sorry no way would I celebrate them the older kids basically look after younger while they going on having children for profit

"...he was technically a pedophile"

Really? Do you even understand "technically" what that word means and why it wouldn't apply to a girl capable of becoming pregnant?

Not defending him in any way at all, but let's try getting the terminology correct maybe? Hyperbowl above explains my thoughts about an adult having sex with a child better than I can. But being a pedophile is not (necessarily) the same thing as having sex with a child under the age of 18.

Hyperbowl · 17/12/2024 20:43

Needmorelego · 17/12/2024 20:29

@Hyperbowl yes but she stopped being a "young girl". She grew up. If he preferred teenage girls (🤮) wouldn't he have got bored with her ?
(NOT defending him....btw)

It doesn’t matter whether or not she grew up. She was a minor being sexually exploited and raped by an adult. It’s not about preferring teenage girls to adults, she was a child. I’m pretty sure Paedophilia isn’t about the gender or sex of a person but the act of being attracted to a child regardless. If she wasn’t groomed by him then she may very well not have been trauma bonded to him and not had so many children by him. A thirteen year old child doesn’t have the mental or emotional capability to consent to sex with an adult. No one benefits from having so many children, it’s not healthy behaviour. She clearly has a lot of mental health issues because of it all. We know he’s mentally disturbed because only the mentally disturbed have sex with children in the first place. Do you not think being love bombed and emotionally manipulated by an abuser has an affect on the mind of a person that if not remedied will just continue on in later life? She’s still with her abuser and has never experienced a healthy and nurturing relationship with a man that hasn’t sexually abused her as a child. Their relationship isn’t a success story it’s years of abuse paraded around on TV as a love story. 🤢 🤮

The children were all emotionally neglected and it will have caused them emotional trauma also. It doesn’t matter whether you have sex with one child or a hundred. If as a man you are sexually attracted to and can get an erection over a child you’re a Paedophile. End of story. The law is the law for a reason.

suburburban · 17/12/2024 20:39

I never supervised my dcs homework either and they all went to university

Another2Cats · 17/12/2024 20:38

Pianoaholic · 17/12/2024 19:56

But as other posters have said, how likely is it that the 22 kids will get jobs and contribute to society?
The girls are far more likely to follow Sue's example and have multiple children, who may also follow suit, and so it goes on and on...
From the clips I have seen of the programme, education doesn't seem to have been a priority. How on earth is it possible to supervise numerous kids' homework, it's hard enough with 2 in my experience!
So I don't think it is equal to 22 only children in terms of the outcome to society.

"How on earth is it possible to supervise numerous kids' homework, it's hard enough with 2 in my experience!"

Frankly, you sound like some sort of "helicopter parent". Really? You "supervise" your children's homework? That sounds very over bearing indeed.

I managed to go to UCL and our DC went to Warwick and LSE - and nobody ever "supervised" anybody else while doing homework.

Maybe just try stepping back a little bit?

OrangeSlices998 · 17/12/2024 20:38

The money will dry up eventually, the social media interest will wane (I hope) and then the kids will wonder where the money went for selling their childhoods? It should be illegal for parents to make money off their kids in this way and not have to put any of it aside for them.

My dad was one of ten kids (his mum was one of 15). None of them died and none of them had a miserable experience (at least from what they tell me).

Cool and did he live during the Victorian or Edwardian era, as that was what was being discussed?

Another2Cats · 17/12/2024 20:31

Startinganew32 · 17/12/2024 19:41

Also in those families the parents had maybe 10 kids, not 20 and normally at least a few of them would die before they turned 5. And it was probably a miserable existence for all involved.

According to the ONS, if it weren't for immigration then the UK population would be falling (eg not enough births to replace those that are dying).

The country needs more people to give birth to more children if we don't want to end up like South Korea or Japan.

I’d rather have hard working and ambitious immigrants than a load of lazy people wanting free housing and not working thanks. Overall the world’s population does need to reduce but yes we will need to rely on immigration to plug the gap.

I'm sure it was 4000 pies they sold a week so if it's £4.50 that's £18.500 a week so how can you say that?

Overheads? Raw materials, labour, utilities, premises, packaging, maintenance, distribution, waste disposal.....how much profit per pie do you think?

Hyperbowl · 17/12/2024 20:26

Essentialblindspots · 17/12/2024 20:14

I think we have to be very careful throwing accusations of paedophilia around.

It means being attracted to someone who is pre-pubescent. And being interested in predatory power and sex; not long relationships generally.

I am not advocating 13 year olds being sexually active. Or that 17/18 year olds have sex with 13 year olds btw!

They had their first child when Sue was 14 and Noel was 18. Not ideal by any means. But teens do sometimes have sex at that age unfortunately.

And their relationship has lasted many years; it’s not that unusual to have a four year gap between a wife and husband! It’s the fact it started so young that’s unusual but they are both adopted so that could explain it to a certain extent. It certainly explains why they chose to keep their first babies as teens.

It’s not “not ideal” at all. He was literally an adult having sex with a child. Legally that makes him a Paedophile who should have been arrested and sanctioned as such. He shouldn’t have been allowed anywhere near her or their child. He should be arrested for historic sexual abuse against a minor and not be allowed contact with any minor under the age of 18. He should never have been allowed to go on grooming and impregnating a vulnerable young girl and then later given a broadcasting platform paid for by millions of people.

It's interesting they seem to have such a lot of money, when their accounts at Companies House says otherwise.

They took "Director's Loans" of over £90,000 in the latest accounts.

The family are as thick as pigshit. Clearly haven't heard of the word CONTRACEPTION. Breeding 22 children. Imagine if everyone had that. The world would be more fucked than it is already...

Why do people like them so much? Guessing because they are white. Racism is exactly what that is. You have literally no evidence to back up your “theory” other than your own blatant prejudice. Disgusting.

It’s not racism to point out that there is a difference in how some large families are perceived compared to others
