He’s fucking locked me out.

Basically this. I’ve text him as I can’t get in, I’ve just finished work. He’s on a works Xmas party.

Said he was setting off at 8:45 and he’d be home for 9 so I said cool, take the key.

Now it’s 10pm and I’m sat in a fucking bus shelter because he’s locked me out and won’t come back with the keys, he’s out and apparently I’m unreasonable for asking him to come home to at least let me in.

I haven’t a clue what to do, it’s 4°, my street is poorly lit and this place doesn’t shut til 12. I can’t afford a lock change so that’s out of the question and my mums not in. So I literally have to just wait.

Get a lockbox, the sole key lives in there until you can be arsed to get another key cut.

Get a key box.

For future, never let him have your keys. If he loses his, then he should have the inconvenience.

The reason there is one key is because after constant lost fucking keys I got sick of him having one. He’s 15 min away in a car. I’ll have to get the bus then be met with world war fucking 3 for going to here he is

If she hasn’t enough money for a locksmith then she can’t afford a hotel and possibly not a taxi also.

OP, bus is a good shout, or are you near a McDonald’s? Can you stay with a friend?

Yes it is a ballache but 15 minutes there, 1 min to receive the keys, 15 mins back, you'll be tucked up in bed by 11pm.

as PP said, can you go to a hotel for the night?

Personally I would be calling an emergency locksmith, getting the locks changed, and not letting him in when he comes back. But that depends on sensible things like being on the tenancy/deeds etc.

So he's 15 mins away? Can you get a taxi to wherever he is? And if that is your only key, get another one cut urgently.
