He’s fucking locked me out.

Basically this. I’ve text him as I can’t get in, I’ve just finished work. He’s on a works Xmas party.

Said he was setting off at 8:45 and he’d be home for 9 so I said cool, take the key.

Now it’s 10pm and I’m sat in a fucking bus shelter because he’s locked me out and won’t come back with the keys, he’s out and apparently I’m unreasonable for asking him to come home to at least let me in.

I haven’t a clue what to do, it’s 4°, my street is poorly lit and this place doesn’t shut til 12. I can’t afford a lock change so that’s out of the question and my mums not in. So I literally have to just wait.

Go to your nearest supermarket or McDonald's to keep warm at least

How many keys has he lost already? You imply it’s more than one? If that’s the case, I don’t want to be that person but why have you trusted him to keep this key on his person? If he loses this one you’re both pretty fucked.

What part of “I got sick of paying for new keys cos he loses them” insinuates that I haven’t had multiple keys.
Theres been that many cut then lost they probably get auctioned off at police raffles.

OP has one set of keys, hers, cos the useless prick who lives with her keeps losing his.

OP gave up her keys on the understanding UP would be back before her.

UP is not back & despite being 15 minutes away with the car refuses to come back leaving her in 4°c at a bus stop.

Should OP get the bus to him to get the keys she'll be met with "ww3" by aforementioned useless prick.

Hardly a ringing endorsement of the quality of said MASSIVELY useless prick

If I was a toddler I’d be tucked up in bed not locked out the house by a selfish pig so hardly “toddler issues”
The relationship is awful, this has to be the most vile thing he’s done and after 6 years of it even I’m shocked.

Why would collecting keys cause such a problem?

Why would he lie about coming home at a certain time?

This relationship is dead in the water because he has no respect for you and you see him as a child. What’s the point?

Why does OP need to grow up? She gave partner her key and he said he would be back before her. He isn’t and she’s locked up and he doesn’t appear to want to help. OP is rightly annoyed!
