Well in France they are pretty sure of at least 50 of them. Ordinary everyday men, young , old, different ethnicities, different professions. I know the mantra is NAMALT but the NAM cohort seems to be horrifyingly small.

It is horrific. It’s not a new thing though. As a teenager you know that you should never leave your friends alone when they’re out of it. You stay together. All women know that. The bit that nobody says out loud is, because some man/men will see an unconscious, vulnerable girl/women and rape them.

Why the short sentence? I don’t understand.

Clearly he was a very dangerous man, and to think such individuals are lying in wait in public places is very worrying. You cannot mitigate against all mad attackers, but this individual had previous, so why was he permitted to be roaming the streets?

It’s shocking that he already has convictions for similar.

I was banned the last time I started a thread about chemical castration but I do not understand why this is not done in this country.

These men will get out of prison and they will just carry on reoffending until something is done about it.

We now know from the Gisele Pelicot case that no end of men would like to do this to an unconscious woman.

Think of her being raped to death. Poor poor woman. How despicable. How dare he think he had this right.

It shows how ridiculous the argument is that if someone is unconscious, or drugged with the drug that blocks memory, no harm is done.

The title says it's chilling. It's a giveaway it'll be something that could be triggering.

I was sickened by the orally raped bit. I've been there. It's horrific. To think a man did this to someone unconscious and it killed them 🤬

And not their first offence either.

Those people cannot be rehabilitated. 10 years won't do it.

I follow Counting Dead Women on twitter. I knew it was '2 or 3 a week' but seeing the picture, the name, the brief details and the accused (nearly always husband, boyfriend, ex, father). It is chilling.

I know it's not all men but there's no way to know which men.

We need to make it easier for women to get away at the first red flag, and to see that flag.

Not if you are given a ‘life sentence’. You would get a mandatory life sentence with a minimum term for murder and sometimes for other very serious crimes (like this case) but this is usually at the judge’s discretion. There’s always a chance (I really hope so) that he’ll never be released.

When I read stuff like this, I'd embrace a return of public hanging. Hopefully in his case with a misculculation that means it's slow.

Why has this beast received such a short sentence. Is this the judge who chose this.

10 years is utterly pathetic and illustrates how sexual assaults on women are still minimised by our judicial system.

Our local police have a FB page and post crime stats in the area each month. 50% of the crimes are domestic violence which is a huge amount but it seems pretty standard.

Beyond vile! I like to think most men would help her, not abuse because she was passed out. It really must take a certain kind of monster to do this, especially so calm and on to business as usual. To see an opportunity for depravity, see this woman as worthless and not get help, disgusting 😑

This is nauseating. The sentences are pathetic. It's not just the perpetrators who treated this woman as worthless.
