Bullseye coming back has made me think this .

These are the programs I’d like to see shown again:

Winner Takes All
Generation Game
Punchlines
Krypton Factor
Crackerjack
Ever Decreasing Circles
Terry and June
A Fine Romance
There’s No Place Like Home
3-2-1

I apologise - some programmes above are ‘ones for the teenagers’

Definitely Blockbusters but it wouldn't be the same without Bob.

I'm singing the theme song in my head now!

Viviennemary · 11/12/2024 18:03

Bluebell

And Nanny with Wendy Craig.

Scorchio84 · 11/12/2024 18:02

Auburngal · 11/12/2024 18:01

As a kid, on Sunday on BBC1, they used to have 3-4 Tom and Jerry cartoons. I love them and got all their cartoons for £10 amzn.eu/d/hi1tSdm

@Auburngal we all know a Hyacinth! Sadly, sadly in some respects ;), that post war lady stalwart is dying out. Fave K Up Appearances episodes?

I know many long suffering ‘Richards’! ;)

Felt sorry for Richard as he went to work to have a rest.

He was forced to take early retirement.

unsync · 11/12/2024 17:50

What was the one on Saturday, live from Norwich with Nicholas Parsons? We used to watch it when we visited my Auntie as we weren't allowed to watch these kind of programmes at home. I can remember sitting through the Money Programme and Songs of Praise on Sunday. 😬

OnlyFrench · 11/12/2024 17:49

I had family members appear on The Generation Game and the Krypton Factor. Still have a video 😳 of KF but GG was so long ago that my dad actually took photos of the TV with his Polaroid !

I'd love to see it again, it was brilliant. It was the first thing I saw Nicola Walker in, it deserves a repeat or a Blu-ray release.

Tony Robinson's "Maid Marian and her Merry Men".

And "Trap Door"

And yes, I watch telly.

Edited

These are sensible choices. Terry and fucking June, Jesus it was as funny as mud when first aired. I watch telly too.

A Fine Romance is available on ITVX. Ever Decreasing Circles is on Sky. I only checked those two so I'm sure others are available if you search.

FastnetLundyRockall · 11/12/2024 17:13

Ever Decreasing is on Now TV. Are you Being Served is definitely on a freeview channel somewhere

Penny's mum was fab, wasn't she?! I think John Sullivan really understood people - such a shame he died so young, I'd love to have seen what he'd have ended up writing in later years! He seemed to really get that sadness and humour go hand in hand sometimes!

Loved Pen’s Dad in the Terry’s chocolate orange ad

@DriveMeCrazy1974 yes. He had that post war snobbery to a tee. Shades of Hyacinth. Altho poss Pen a lot more posh than Mum? She didn’t need to try.

Keeping Up Appearances - wonderful. I suggest you listen to The Luxury Podcast

Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes.

There needs to be a channel where it just shows classic kids TV.

We've just started rewatching Life on Mars - it's like a Christmas tradition now - we start LOM on the 9th of December, watch one episode a night leading up to Christmas Eve and then start Ashes to Ashes on Christmas Day - we've done this for about 8 years now!

@DriveMeCrazy1974 yes to scripts, Vince’s lines a bit corny but so funny & Pen’s Mum.

Also from exactly same era

Albion Market, anyone ?

Loved Albion Market - Helen Shapiro, the singer, was in it, wasn't she?! Also, Noreen Kershaw who was in Life on Mars. Didn't last very long but I enjoyed it whilst it lasted.

I'd live to see Rock Follies again, it's never been re shown.
I bloody loved it!
