Just that really.

What kind of things do they like in general? Have they got good stamina ? I suppose it depends how they live their lives. Would love some feedback on things like -

kind of things they’d like to receive for birthdays /Xmas

music they like?

in case someone’s asking - I’ve got a little crush 🤣

Buy the Private Eye one and I guarantee you’ll be laughing all afternoon - an excellent publication 🙌

come on - we all love an annual … don’t we. ??!

No.

What's the obsession with annuals?

OP, in one of your other posts you say you were born in the early 1970s. Assuming that means you were born some time between 1970 and 1974, you are only been two and six years younger than this man. You are the same generation. You would have probably have been at school at the same time as him. Why are you acting as if he's much older than you? In adult terms you're basically the same age. Why would he have less stamina than you or be into different things?!

Not saying he’s much older … just wondered what he might appreciate. I’d honestly ask the same question about women like myself born in 1972 just to canvas opinion. I mean as a 52 year old I’d love -

the 2025 Private Annual
a 2025 calendar /diary

some really nice cheeses like M&S or something

any wine

chocs

any bath /soaps shower stuff

whaf i wouldnt like are trousers from the Damart catalogues 🤣😭

but I admit us 52 year olds are not the same !

I mean I’d hate book on indie /grunge music as it’s so not my genre!!!!!!!

yes I’m 1972 born so couldn’t be more GEN X if I tried !

We lived through 3 TV channels you know !!
🤣
sorry much as I love us Gen Xers I think we need to learn to laugh at ourselves perhaps in between insisting streetlights were our curfew and drinking out of garden hosepipes ..!!!

as for the stamina issue - I meant it lightheartedly! I mean he’s definitely got stamina in my fantasies !! 🤣😍

there’s stamina ….. and stamina 😍

Had is occurred to you that 56 year old men vary as much as 56 year old women? Why on earth would we know the answers to those questions if we’ve never met the guy.
i fear for your intelligence level that you can’t work out that asking the internet this question isn’t going to be fruitful.

Completely agree but the number of people who have answered her. It’s very odd all round.

Private Eye annuals are geared towards people that are into politics.

Agreed ! But it also satirises aspects of Popular Culture … they’ll no doubt have a field day about the Master Chef controversy !

ok Fair enough but things like Private Eye annuals are definitely geared for adults as is at least one Smash Hits annual I’ve read - the Smash Hits one is a classic 🙌

The damned were punk not heavy metal.

PrizeT0mb0laTriymph · 07/12/2024 18:17

I asked someone

Depending on your budget
Remote controlled car
Mark 1 Escort Mexico
New BSA Goldstar

Stamina - Classic cars & bikes still fuction, might not be as fast as newer models, but they get you there in the end !

Music, prefer live

Do not under estimate

ApolloandDaphne · 07/12/2024 17:42

My DH is 61 and runs marathons so I imagine plenty of 56yo have similar stamina. He likes running stuff, books, red wine, whisky and chocolate!

This suggestion that keeps coming up that not all 56 year old men are the same has me worried. Is it just at 56 that these variations can occur or is there another age where this is also a risk??

Absolutely. It happens in tetrahedral number years so you'll also find Bloke Variations in 20 year olds, 35 year olds, 84 year olds and 120 year olds.

So he's not married but isn't single? I think you'll make a massive plonker of yourself if you buy him children's books for Christmas.

She’s mixing between threads. There’s this crazy imaginary present-for-a-crush one, and the other where she’s asking people born in the 70s what they like. Dropping ideas from the latter into this one.

We’re having a lovely nostalgic time on the other thread so I’m willing to ignore that it didn’t start from a genuine place.

Saw that other thread. All the threads. Random and prolific. To be honest I think the op just wants a Lovely Chat. .

Yep I’m starting to think it’s a wind up what with the music for geriatrics and the annuals for children. I’m a similar age to the man in question and if I got given a mix tape from the back and white era along with an annual, I’d think the sender had lost their marbles

I actually thought OP sounded older than 34 😁 and tbf I’m sure OP knows that they’re getting themselves in for dating an old timer 😉

It’s funny how I don’t see anyone born in ‘68 Asan old timer !

he’s not carrying an ounce of excess weight .. and is very lively!

Why would you buy him a child’s gift? I’m sorry, @Jumell , but you sound more and more juvenile with each post. Do you have much relationship experience? I’m still not clear about why you’re thinking of trying to start a relationship with a man who is more than 20 years older than you unless you are seeking a father figure - and that isn’t a healthy start to a relationship as partners. And I see you were cagey about answering the question about whether he is single - your reply ‘not married’ concerns me a bit. If he is in another relationship then leave him alone, please!

An adult really would appreciate the Smash Hits annual I read. It has some excellent content

It is NOT music for geriatrics!!

I mean I know I walk up the stairs like one - but I’m NOT one and love that music !

I think you're yanking our chain.

But if not, I think you should leave this poor bloke alone. He's not some mysterious species from another planet. It's quite tedious to have someone make a big deal about your age.
