Changed my mind, sorry.

If you are offended at a woman breastfeeding in her own home then you would have hated me "flashing" at the cafe, pub, supermarket, on the train, a park bench etc etc when I was breastfeeding.

BlushDiamond · 30/11/2024 03:39

I'd say closed if they were like my ex neighbour who used to sit in his front window naked and wanking. A woman feeding her baby wouldn't be in that category though.

tilypu · 30/11/2024 03:31

Gotta love some fake concern. 'it's more for her sake'. So it's for your sake too then.

As a previous poster said, if you prefer your curtains/blinds closed when it's dark, then there's nothing for you to see.

I actually despair of people - sometimes posts in this forum thoroughly depress me and I wonder what kind of world my kids have grown up in! Fortunately I don't believe this microcosm of human life here is representative of the population generally - I have to believe that!!

As for curtains, I like mine closed when it's getting dark. I don't want to watch the boring neighbours watch TV every evening from the same positions on the sofa and I daresay they don't want to see us boring neighbours do the same. I don't want the selfish parking wars neighbours to see anything because I am still too cross with them, even though after a couple of years the situation may be resolved!!

So a woman is feeding her baby in the comfort of her own home . I litterally don’t see the issue .

my kitchen is on the front with no curtains I close them at the back for heat purposes

Oh bloody hell, close your fucking curtains and stop being such a prude!

I love to see a woman breastfeeding - I loved it when I did it myself.

I was dead impressed when I was in Rome last week to see a young woman breastfeeding on an escalator!! I thought, wow, that takes some talent! I was never brave enough or skilled enough (when the boobs came out I could never manage discreet!!) to feed in public but I managed to feed my first two for a year each and my 3rd for 22 months!

MeanderingGently · 30/11/2024 02:51

I always have curtains open, never closed, even in the bedroom. But then I'm not overlooked in any way, and it's countryside out there anyway. I don't like the feeling of being shut in.

People are allowed to go about their normal business in their own homes, including breastfeeding, getting showered or dressed etc. If you happen to look in and don't like it, then stop looking!

betterangels · 30/11/2024 02:42

She breastfeeding, in her own home, and provides not thinking about nosy neighbours staring in. She's really not the problem.

User964253 · 30/11/2024 02:39

I suspect she’s knackered and hasn’t even thought about it

TeenToTwenties · 30/11/2024 02:29

Closed because it helps with insulation.

Redglitter · 30/11/2024 02:24

It's almost flashing??? Don't be so ridiculous. She's in her own house breastfeeding her child.

You're the problem - not her

SnoopySantaPaws · 30/11/2024 00:18

If I was sitting in my own home breastfeeding my baby, no, I wouldn't be closing my curtains, breastfeeding in the 'dark' I'm not a fucking mole!

id wish my nosey neighbour wouldn't keep staring in though.

as an adult I can deal with weirdos myself, I don't need nosey neighbour (NN) sticking her nose into imaginary weirdos. Just stop, mind her own business & shut her own curtains.

If your curtains are closed, you won’t be able to see her.

FrabjousDays · 30/11/2024 00:09

Stop watching your neighbour breastfeed if it bothers you that much. And no, it’s not remotely ‘like flashing”. What’s wrong with you?

I didn’t know that, but I’ve never worked out how to get to the edit function. Blush

After you post your comment there’s three buttons on the top right (across from where your username is). Edit is there, but I think there’s only a short window where you can make changes. You can’t come back in an hour and change your whole post for example.

I wouldn't like doing that myself, but I feel creeped out at the idea of someone watching me if I were only sitting and reading. If it doesn't bother her, there is not much you can do about it.
