DH pisses around toilet

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:20

We moved into our new home and the first thing I did was to clean the bathroom, including disinfecting the toilet area which was covered in mouldy spots. Within about an hour, DH had pissed all over the rim of the toilet and the floor just under the toilet had a small puddle of piss. I have asked him not to do this, just to wipe it dry when he misses the bowl. He says this is not his job.

I'm not particularly OCD about this sort of thing, I just like a clean bathroom and would prefer to clean it just once a week rather than daily/hourly.

I AM being unreasonable = This is beyond the scope of what is expected of a normal male in his own home.

I am NOT being unreasonable = Why can't he just make that small effort (quick wipe with tissues) so that I don't have to clean the toilet every day, and to save me getting my toes wet in a puddle of his piss?

No, he does all the cooking. But I work more than him. The issue is just this. I can't believe he doesn't accept it's unfair.

How are you bringing yourself to eat the meals Mr PeePee makes? Clearly no sense of hygiene.

Patienceinshortsupply · 28/11/2024 22:13

Go to Aldi and buy some packs of those disposable nappy changing mats, and cover the area around the toilet with them.

And make sure that his relatives/friends know why they're there when they visit.

Dotto · 28/11/2024 22:13

My grandmother would have got him by the scruff of the neck and shoved his face in it.

CrotchetyQuaver · 28/11/2024 22:11

That's a massively disrespectful thing for him to do, it has to be deliberate on his part. I'd be losing the plot on this, whose job does he think it is if not his own to clean up behind himself. I can't believe he behaves like that at work/other peoples homes. Dirty disgusting skank

Keleshey · 28/11/2024 22:11

YANBU - ask him what happens if you have a leak when on your period and it goes all over his car seat? surely his car is his place to clean so he'd be happy doing that I assume? or if you had a weak bladder and peed in the car that'd be fine, no expectation of you to clean it?

Mine did.

You'd actually be amazed at how many men do this! They are revolting! My manager and I literally had this conversation a few days ago and she said she would never have married her husband had she known he'd piss over the toilet!!

I mean ffs they have been provided with a spout - why is it so difficult to direct it?!! And don't get me started on the skidmarks in the toilet bowl! Why the hell can't they just clean up their own mess?!!

Dotto · 28/11/2024 22:07

It's not normal, it's not funny and it's not a small deal.

Dotto · 28/11/2024 22:06

Does he do it at work? At his friend's houses?

Twilightstarbright · 28/11/2024 21:58

My vagina would dry up and close for business if my DH did that.

Mine did.

WesolychSwiat · 28/11/2024 22:05

Is the hole not big enough for his cock?

EverybodyLovesString · 28/11/2024 22:05

That is truly disgusting. Did you ask him exactly whose job it is? It’s not a blind spot, he thinks your place is to clean his piss up.

If you think he's 'considerate in all other ways' I'm thinking this is because in all other ways your dynamic is that you look after and clean up after him and he very occasionally 'helps' or doesnt obstruct you. So you cook his tea and he considerately bring his plate in for you to wash? Or considerately put his pants in the laundry basket? Lifts his feet while you hoover? Am I right? Because, there is no way a man who would tell you that isn't his job could ever be considerate in the way most women would understand the word. No able bodied person who expects another person to clean up their bodily fluids is considerate. Not even close.

Is he over 80? Old men ca be stupid and miss, otherwise HD is just dick.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 28/11/2024 22:03

Not his job? So whose job is it to clean his piss? Who does he think is beneath him that he's too good to clean it, but reasonable for someone else? Time for him to sit down and tuck it down when he pees.

Yellowbananasarebetterthangreen · 28/11/2024 22:03

Ask him whose responsibility he thinks it is - I need to know!

Clue - it 100% is not yours.

Make him a GP appointment when he can hear you and make sure to tell the receptionist that it's because his urine is going everywhere instead of in the toilet so he's going to need an urgent referral to a urologist.

DinosaurMunch · 28/11/2024 21:59

My ex does this too. Even worse his dad once pissed in the bathroom sink in our house, when we were still together (And didn't rinse it) (The sink is adjacent to the toilet) (And no there are no cognitive issues or other reasons why he did this).

Dotto · 28/11/2024 21:58

He does it deliberately. Why would you put up with this?

Twilightstarbright · 28/11/2024 21:58

My vagina would dry up and close for business if my DH did that.

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:37

I just don't quite understand it. In all other respects he's the most considerate person I know. This is just a complete blind spot (for him)!

No, it's not a blind spot he is a disgusting pig who thinks it's your job to clean his piss up.

What a disgraceful man

MolkosTeenageAngst · 28/11/2024 21:55

Whose job does he think it is then? If you live in a shared home and you make a mess then of course you clean it! How does he not recognise this?

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 28/11/2024 21:54

What an utter pig. He can sort it if he cares enough.

Renamed · 28/11/2024 21:54

WHY! Just why would anyone think it’s your job to wipe up their piss!

And why can’t he just piss in the bowl!
