DH pisses around toilet

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:20

We moved into our new home and the first thing I did was to clean the bathroom, including disinfecting the toilet area which was covered in mouldy spots. Within about an hour, DH had pissed all over the rim of the toilet and the floor just under the toilet had a small puddle of piss. I have asked him not to do this, just to wipe it dry when he misses the bowl. He says this is not his job.

I'm not particularly OCD about this sort of thing, I just like a clean bathroom and would prefer to clean it just once a week rather than daily/hourly.

I AM being unreasonable = This is beyond the scope of what is expected of a normal male in his own home.

I am NOT being unreasonable = Why can't he just make that small effort (quick wipe with tissues) so that I don't have to clean the toilet every day, and to save me getting my toes wet in a puddle of his piss?

The issue isnt that he misses I reckon they all do 🥴
A normal response would have been “sorry ill clean that up”

Exactly. @PissoirPissedOff how long have you been together? Do you want children?

Wigtopia · 28/11/2024 22:33

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:27

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

Could you try shitting on the toilet seat and telling him it’s not your job to clear it up? That might get you somewhere

Dotto · 28/11/2024 22:33

The simple answer is that he does this because you clean it up. Stop.

Whatwouldnanado · 28/11/2024 22:32

This is completely repugnant. He has no respect for you whatsoever. No one deserves this from another adult.

Lwrenn · 28/11/2024 22:32

Please tell him that his being less house trained than a cat is drying up our vaginas.

BonfireToffee · 28/11/2024 22:31

My dad has this issue — and I’ve been shocked to discover it seems not at all uncommon.

He would leave the toilet in a filthy state — piss all over the floor and seat, and huge streaks of shit down the toilet.

Literally nothing would stop him — I asked, cajoled, raged, got upset; he did not give a single, solitary fuck.

Ultimately I had to completely ban him from using my toilet when he came round. Were no contact now because I can’t maintain a relationship with someone who has such obvious and complete contempt for me.

Your husband thinks it’s your job to deal with his filth, OP, despite knowing it distresses and disgusts you.

That is so far from OK; please don’t put up with it any longer.

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:27

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

What was his response?

There’s really nothing to get. He’s using the loo and leaving urine for ‘someone’ to clean. Who and why?

hoxtonbabe · 28/11/2024 22:30

Lollypop25 · 28/11/2024 21:29

Surely you don't need to ask this. He should be ashamed.

Whose job is it exactly?

When he goes to work whose job is it?

To a friend's house? Not that I think a pissy bitch like him deserves friends.

This is exactly what popped into my head… “so who’s job is it”🤣

I mean I had to laugh at this because I would love for a man to tell me this, I would actually welcome this kind of BS and take pleasure in laying into him for even thinking, let alone saying such shite.

Sparklfairy · 28/11/2024 22:29

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:27

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

I think he absolutely gets it. He just won't dare say it out loud.

Of course he fucking gets it. He just doesn't want to stop making you his piss monkey.

Notaurewhy · 28/11/2024 22:29

Snugglemonkey · 28/11/2024 22:26

It is not just unfair. It is so far beyond that.

Yes it is. He is expecting you to clear up his piss. Read those words out loud.

Topsyturvy78 · 28/11/2024 22:29

That's minging what would he do if he lived alone? Obviously when potty training your toddler you clean it up. But we shouldn't have to clean up a grown man's piss. Tell him to grow the fuck up.

PrettyPickle · 28/11/2024 22:28

"It is not my job", how demeaning a thing is that to say to his wife.

I would be furious at his hygiene habits but even more disgusted at that statement.

If that is his attitude, I would be telling my soon to be ex husband to do one, until he finds some self respect for himself and learns how to treat you properly.

Actually, I would give my husband an enormous drink and whilst he is relaxing, I would go and poor water all over the toilet seat and on the floor around the toilet. When he goes mad, tell him its not your job to clean it up and see how he likes it.

Or when you have a mate of his visiting, if they ask to use the loo, offer them a pack of wipes as they ask and explain hubby has a habit of missing the pot and refuses to clean it so best be prepared and then see if he continues. Shame him into submission.

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:27

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

What does he say when you ask whose job it is?

WearyAuldWumman · 28/11/2024 22:27

Snugglemonkey · 28/11/2024 22:26

It is not just unfair. It is so far beyond that.

It's abusive.

Little boys need their mummy to clean their mess. Men don't.

ThatTealViewer · 28/11/2024 22:22

When he said it wasn’t his job, how did you respond? Did you not immediately ask him whose job he thinks it is to clean up his urine?

If not, then why not?

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

No, he does all the cooking. But I work more than him. The issue is just this. I can't believe he doesn't accept it's unfair.

It is not just unfair. It is so far beyond that.

I believe men miss the toilet bowl but I don’t believe someone needs to come on MN to ask opinions about it.

I honestly wouldn't if he was generally an arsehole. This is a strange aberration so I'm questioning my judgement.

How are you bringing yourself to eat the meals Mr PeePee makes? Clearly no sense of hygiene.

Exactly my thought.

Raise your bar please @PissoirPissedOff - you deserve more than food made from unwashed urine stained hands, because if he CBA to clean the floor, he sure as hell wont be washing his hands after he poos and wees before he cooks.

No one is THAT hungry 💩

Notaurewhy · 28/11/2024 22:25

Mum2jenny · 28/11/2024 21:38

Some men are just dirty beasts and cannot piss straight into a loo. And they have not been told when wee, to do this. (No pun intended 😃)

What!? It's a pretty obvious task. Even for 5 and 6 year olds who may have aim mishaps. As boys grow older they will have been exposed to older boys / men who have just done what needs to be done in a urina and they learn the etiquttel? By the age of at least puberty if a boy cannot aim into a toilet (consistently) then there has to be some sort of medical explanation or just willful not doing it.

For whatever reason it should not be down to OP to clear it up. Just because he's decided its her job to clear up his piss. Not a good sign.

Every day on here my eyes roll back into my head and I ask myself why the fuck do women put up with these manky husbands?
