DH pisses around toilet

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:20

We moved into our new home and the first thing I did was to clean the bathroom, including disinfecting the toilet area which was covered in mouldy spots. Within about an hour, DH had pissed all over the rim of the toilet and the floor just under the toilet had a small puddle of piss. I have asked him not to do this, just to wipe it dry when he misses the bowl. He says this is not his job.

I'm not particularly OCD about this sort of thing, I just like a clean bathroom and would prefer to clean it just once a week rather than daily/hourly.

I AM being unreasonable = This is beyond the scope of what is expected of a normal male in his own home.

I am NOT being unreasonable = Why can't he just make that small effort (quick wipe with tissues) so that I don't have to clean the toilet every day, and to save me getting my toes wet in a puddle of his piss?

Why can't he aim properly? DH is 72 and never misses.

Do you think there may be a medical reason that he misses?

If he can't aim properly he needs to sit down.

Concernedfriend2023 · 28/11/2024 22:48

That's absolute madness. My 7 year old cleans up any splashes without ever having to be asked. And I wouldn't describe him as a particularly helpful child 😂

Balloonhearts · 28/11/2024 22:45

Have you told him that no men don't do this. Toddlers do this. My 4 year old knows to wipe if he misses.

Does he expect you to find him attractive when you're literally wiping up his piss like his mother? I would spell this out for him and then if he still doesn't get it, I'd end the relationship because it absolutely smacks of disrespect towards you.

To be honest there is no reason boys can't be taught to sit down in the home. Outside the home at urinals or in the wild up against a tree then fine stand up, but in the home sit down!

Has he always done this? If so, why would you marry that

Breadcat24 · 28/11/2024 22:43

suggest he gets a medical exam if he has a spray nozzle instead of a jet.

Zebedee999 · 28/11/2024 22:43

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:35

Because it's what men do, apparently....?!?!!

Nope. Men I know that cannot aim straight SIT DOWN. It's what decent men do in the home.

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:38

He knows I clean the bathroom once a week and doesn't see why it can't wait until then.

🤢 🤮

No man I’ve ever lived with.

edit - pissing & missing is rank.

So, it’s your job? ‘What men do’ is ‘make a mess involving bodily secretions and expect their skivvy to sort it out’? Why doesn’t he clean the bathroom once a week and deal with a week’s worth of urine?

Seriously, why are you tolerating this nonsense? You cannot think this is acceptable? You must recognise the magnitude of the disrespect you’re being shown?

helgel · 28/11/2024 22:42

Just use his towel and put it back on the towel rail.....every...single...time.

He's vile, I'd match his vileness by cleaning it up with his toothbrush...

THIS!
Your Husband is a bloody disgusting dirty git!
I don't know how you have kept from strangling him. If he was mine, he wouldn't be able to pee standing up by the time I had finished with him🤬

Christmasmorale · 28/11/2024 22:40

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:27

Yes, of course I said that. But it didn't get me anywhere. He just doesn't get it.

Rather than beg him to clean it up, share that funny story from your last night out with the girls. The one where you were all naming the worst icks and you all agreed that men who piss around the toilet seat was the biggest sexual turn off. And that you all laughed about how cleaning a man’s piss is the ultimate ick- like wiping an 80 year olds sugar daddy’s arse. Laugh and leave it at that.

I’m sure that will get the message across.

justasking111 · 28/11/2024 22:40

Mine has prostate issues, poor flow he doesn't turn on the light at night. He used to blame our sons. They're gone now. I do sometimes pick him up on it so he's more careful for a while.

You're not being unreasonable.

He's a thick, disgusting pig. And what are you going to do about this?

Neggroni · 28/11/2024 22:39

This absolutely boils my piss. My DC's school has just had new toilets installed a week ago. My DD 8 was complaining how disgusting there are already. She says she regularly has to wipe other people's urine of the seat before she uses it which she rightly thinks is foul. Neither she or my DS 9 can get there head around why you wouldn't wipe it up yourself. Some people are just dirty pigs.

Gowlett · 28/11/2024 22:38

My DH does it. I don’t understand. It’s depressing…

Point out it must be because his tiny willy can’t reach.

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:38

ThatTealViewer · 28/11/2024 22:36

That doesn’t answer the question of who is meant to clean it up, OP.

SideProfile · 28/11/2024 22:36

I have a 2 and 4 year old who barely miss, but it they do - I don’t know about it because they clean it up immediately. To get them to learn this, I stood above them and talked them through the process - maybe you need to do that

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 22:35

ThatTealViewer · 28/11/2024 22:30

What was his response?

There’s really nothing to get. He’s using the loo and leaving urine for ‘someone’ to clean. Who and why?

Because it's what men do, apparently....?!?!!

This is the second thread I’ve seen in the last five minutes where a man is being awful (and really quite strange) and his partner (the OP) is both passively accepting said awfulness and claiming that - apart from the single aberration and blatant disrespect - he’s really a lovely chap.

The other one isn’t allowed to touch the television, and hasn’t been for 12 years of marriage.

CatamaranViper · 28/11/2024 22:34

My 7 year old son recognises that it's his job to clean up his own piss if/when he misses the bowl. He's done this since he started doing stand-up wees.
Even if he has had a "blind spot", I've called him back and he's cleaned it up straight away.
I refuse to clean up piss and shit for people/animals who can do it themselves.
