this is a local company and this is their ‘Black Friday’ advert. WTF is it on about?!!! I’d hate to think the worst of them as they do lots of local events but…

Personally I believe it's because of the connotations attached to the meme they chose to use

Obviously there's nothing wrong in itself with using black people in advertising or just about every recent creator would be guilty, but there are so many images they could have used and they chose this??

Not sure it's directly relevant as this looks like a UK company, but in the USA at the moment "Blacked Friday" is a take-off on "Black Friday" among anti-black racists. The "joke " is that on the latter you buy stuff (possibly) cheap, and on the former you acquire stuff and pay nothing - presumably in between snacking on house pets and performing "gender reassignment surgery" on Federal prison inmates.

Adverts aim to provoke thought to gain attention.

Any publicity is good publicity.

So I guess the aim of this advert was to shock people, to the point where they want to share the advert in perhaps busy forums (free further advertisement) to announce their shock!

Going viral would be even better for them...

BUT... it's based on a VERY niche meme which not many people are going to get, so most people would be rather shocked at it. Unless they've thought this through and figured that people would eventually make the connection?!?

Meh. It's not good taste!

I’m more shocked knowing the context, not less!

It's showing 17 shares, no comments mentioned where it normally shows that next to the shares count.

Hopefully the comment that is there (that I can't see) is asking them to rethink this post...

There is a comment underneath, you have to set the comments to “all comments” to see it.

I'm not getting the "All comments/Relevant Comments" toggle that's normally there.

I think you'll find that you're wrong about that. The Equality Act 2010 recognises that anyone can be a victim of racism.

I don't see a race issue here.
I see a porn reference used to promote wine and it disgusts me. It's nor clever, nor funny.
I'm not anti-porn but whoever created this promo is a nasty simpleton. The only excuse is, if they're 17 and pre-occupied with their dick. In that case, their mum&dad should get them off the business account and review ways to earn pocket money.
