What do you think of Australia's vaccine policy?

I'm born and bred Aussie. We live in WA and kids here can't go to kindy or school
without having been vaccinated. I have a couple of British friends who were so offended that they needed to vaccinate their kids they home schooled because 'well we'll just go back to the uk' but they've stayed and now need to get their kids vaccinated because they have no friends their own age and can't go to school without vaccines.

You can't apply for child related benefits if your kid isn't vaccinated either here.

Having seen NZ have just declared a whooping cough epidemic Id say I agree with WA stance I'm honest!

I am antivaccination if I can be, and we live in America. I would say that you should see if your friends can fill out an exemption form if possible. We have a religious exemption form so that we do not have to get vaccinations. I am pro-vaccine if they didn't add so many extra things into the vaccine, but they do.

Yes I think if you're Jewish or Muslim then exemption might be possible.

Grapewrath · 26/11/2024 20:40

Thing is if you genuinely believe vaccines are a threat to your child’s health you wouldn’t be prepared to sacrifice that to send them to school. If I thought the vaccine schedule in Australia was to the detriment of my kids, I’d just home school them rather than change my mind about vaccines.

According to the article you linked to, the fatality rate due to the smallpox vaccine was 1 in a million, equivalent to 0.0001%. The fatality rate of smallpox itself was 30%. But of course, you can make an educated guess as to which odds you'd prefer.

I attach a photo of a man who died of smallpox in 1896, in an epidemic in Gloucester. It was a very unpleasant disease.

Measles is still around. In 1941, 1,145 in people died of measles in the UK. In 2023, 3 people died (1 child, 2 adults). The difference in these stats over 80 years is due to vaccination.

If I wished for children to die, the first thing I'd recommend is to stop vaccinations.

You literally posted multiple times that you hoped unvaccinated kids would die before becoming adults and I see that MNHQ have deleted your posts.

One in millions! So are you saying no one should be vaccinated because one person in millions may have a reaction?

No , I have said nothing remotely similar to that.

After the insane way Australia behaved during Covid I can’t take them seriously as a country anymore and certainly will never set foot there again.

I can't take the US seriously as a country after they reelected the man who suggested we all drink bleach. Who then appointed the man who killed a bunch of Samoan children with his anti vax bullshit.

Birdscratch · 26/11/2024 17:34

There isn’t a causal link between the HPV vaccine and CFS or POTS. There was a scare which led to a drop in vaccine uptake but the reason you won’t find articles when you google is that there wasn’t any proven link and further research bears that out.

POTS is most commonly diagnosed at the age of 12-15 and 75% of those diagnosed are girls. The HPV vaccine is most commonly given to 12-15 year olds and most countries first roll out of the vaccine focused on girls. People put together POTS diagnoses with the vaccination program and feared it was linked. The numbers of girls diagnosed with POTS per year before the HPV vaccine was introduced hasn’t changed after the vaccine was introduced. It’s post hoc ergo propter hoc.

certain vaccines yes, not flu or covid for children though

I agree that flu and covid vaccinations for children are somewhat different from the others, as it is acknowledged these are given more to protect older populations than the children themselves. The other childhood vaccinations have a direct benefit for the age groups they are given to, along with everyone else.

That’s not to say I’m pro every vaccination that has ever been created being forced onto people, but there are certainly some vaccinations, particularly those offered in infancy and childhood, that I think it is ridiculous for all but a tiny minority who have genuinely good medical reasons to refuse.

Millions do NOT die - 77k. So 18 per million rate, and that is put down to lack of screening

77 k in India. That are recorded. I did say other countries too. There will be many more that are not recorded. We needn't quibble over numbers because it's way too many for a preventable cancer.Compared to what: 2 deaths from the vaccine?
And I will eat my hat if women in the UK who dont get the vax are being screened instead as a preventive.

No thanks - I’d rather not have all the aluminium or formaldehyde it contains
(I did ‘survive’ whooping cough, measles, chicken pox without it)

Yes, please. I would rather not go back to the high numbers of deaths and disability every year that occurred pre-vaccination, or selfishly expecting others to protect me without any reciprocity.

Didnt expect to see RFK supporters on MN, but you live and learn.
Give your children the HPV vaccine. It saves lives, as has been proved in Ireland. Millioms of women die every year from cervical cancer in India and other poor countries because they cant get HPV. It makes me sick that people in this country sneer at vaccines.

With regard to whooping cough, the whole-cell version of the vaccine had extremely rare, but significant side effects. It has therefore been replaced in most countries by an acellular version. The acellular version is considerably less effective and its effects diminish to nothing within about 10 years. However, the UK, unlike many other countries, does not offer teenage boosters, leaving the vast majority of the population unprotected from quite a young age. Actually getting whooping cough also doesn’t actually result in lifelong immunity, either, so if you’re complaining about whooping cough, you should be arguing for more regular vaccination, not stopping vaccination and thus condemning the most vulnerable to a painful death, as it is a highly contagious infection and history shows it can and does kill.

Whilst whooping cough is most dangerous to small babies, who can and do die from it, getting it in early childhood significantly increases the risk of developing asthma, it can cause permanent lung damage, hernias, collapsed lungs, incontinence, secondary infections and, at the least, frankly horrible symptoms for several months.

Given there have been a whole host of successful cases against vaccine manufacturers, and several going through the courts, certain vaccines are highly ineffective, with outbreaks of e.g. measles and whooping cough often occurring in highly vaccinated populations, and increasingly several are known to be downright dangerous (HPV & Covid for starters), the idea of mandating them is abhorrent to me. You don't need to scratch the surface very far to see the dangers.

It's obviously not up to me to do your research, but if you look at the following :
Gardasilgirls on Insta you can immerse yourself in the lives of young women with lives destroyed by that vaccine (I personally know two HPV vax injured teens, one with Lupus one with POTS). Even The Guardian had articles on how dangerous HPV vax is only a few years ago, as well as letters from doctors in the BMJ, but it is now hard to find these sources if you don't know where to look. There is no doubt in my mind is is censored. The impact is egregious yet there are stupid posters here who want to mandate this absolute poison

The research on vaccines generally shows it causes developmental delays in small children: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7268563/
Just one article, start looking yourself for ALL the rest

Read 'Turtles All the Way Down' for a fully referenced and shocking read into how inefficacious vaccines are, and start looking properly. People like RFK jnr are popular because there is a big problem people are closing their minds to

Excess mortality is through the roof - still! - post CV19 vaccinations. That is not a disputed fact. Insurance companies are unnerved by it as professional working age people who shouldn't be ill are dying in numbers they shouldn't. Bizarrely the one thing government don't want to seem to consider as a possible cause is the vaccine itself.

For those keen to do the research, here’s some info on the ways that study is flawed.

It doesn't have to be present, but it is in 95% of cervical cancer cases. That's a huge percentage. Statistically your risk of cervical cancer without HPV is tiny and ita not cost effective at all to keep regularly checking those without HPV.

And there are good reasons for waiting for mammograms too. Public health is about statistical risk balanced with cost effectiveness, and you've picked very poor examples to argue about

I mean, I literally mentioned the financial reasons for not testing all cells in my post…

Mammograms should be offered at a younger age - most guidelines recommend from 40. The reason it is 50 in the uk is purely financial - and possibly tinged with health sexism.
