Why do men just stand around on street corners?

I don't get it. Living in an inner city area and there's always groups of men just standing around for hours on end and in the freezing cold in winter. What do they get out of it? It's usually different cultures/immigrants or whatever, but I kind of feel sorry for them that they've got nothing better to do; it's just a real irritant though when they hang around in packs by your house. Just go away.

Gosh. People using the public realm. Whatever will they think of next?

OP - you do realise that streets are PUBLIC property and people are allowed to be on them?

I suspect she does realise that really very basic fact. The capital letters do aid reading comprehension though, must be why the Daily Mail loves them. But it’s also reasonable to feel intimidated by large groups of men.

Whenever someone leads with: ‘you do realise…’ I can’t help but preemptively roll my eyes.
