12 years isn't that long ago in the scheme of things.

Plus some of the comments on the other Gregg Wallace thread that’s trending, which relate to more than ‘bawdy jokes’.

Wendolino · 28/11/2024 21:05

It always puzzled me how someone like him got where he is by shouting. Also, what makes him an "ingredients expert"? What a load of old bollox

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 21:02

I pay the tv licence ( I sometimes think I am the only one left who does) because I like live tv and I player and the lack of ads. I enjoy some of their programmes and Eastenders.
I do object to the money going to pay people like him and his still on the tv tonight ;(

PickledPony · 28/11/2024 20:59

It’s about time that the BBC had a couple of good women on the recruitment committee/ talent spotting. I can think of a further 4 current BBC ‘stars’ that give off massive creepy/pervy vibes. And I don’t even watch much TV! Not happy that I pay a license fee to keep these disgusting men on TV and living a life of luxury.

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 20:59

The whole thing is just sleazy
I feel that I'm done with sleazy men tbh , but nothing seems to change and none of them ever learn :(

FilthyBass · 28/11/2024 19:44

Loads of BBC employees are talentless.

Gregg was alright he's just told a few bawdy jokes 12 years ago. You cant judge the past by todays standards. The line to be crossed was in a different place back then.

It's not offensive as such. Just so cringe. Total throwback. Not witty because smutty innuendos seem very old fashioned now and belong either in a bygone era or something said by a drag queen in a show in Benidorm.

Do you live in the real world?

I cant access the link to see herr face anyway as I have adblocker

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 20:47

Why did Wallace think that anyone would want to see his bits in a sock ?

I think he has something on someone very high up in TV. That's the only explanation I can think of.

There were rumours it wasn’t just beg he delivered in his greengrocer days but obviously I have no idea if there’s any truth in that!

Quite possibly, it's not as if you could not find another presenter for a cookery show.

I used to think that about Brendan O'Carroll, given his so-called comedy is the best argument to end the licence fee. Though I know think whoever commissioned Mrs Brown's Boys did that to see that some people will watch any rubbish served up.

@NigelHarmansNewWife Actually I have. But I don't see a lewd joke as sexual harassment because it's not. Shit, I'd have been in trouble years ago.

Depends on the circumstances.

Are you really offended at that?

The least talented (and luckiest) man on tv

GrouchyKiwi · 28/11/2024 20:40

Wrong thread. Should be talking with the other MC people. Grin

MoMandaS · 28/11/2024 20:40

Smittenkitchen · 28/11/2024 19:54

Haven't watched MC for a couple of years but it used to drive me insane how they'd always say "plate of food" instead of dish on The Professionals. Once I'd noticed it I couldn't unhear it.

Ha, when we used to watch it we used 'plate of food' as a drinking game. Soon had to stop that!

I reckon Cat D would have found that funny…ffs it’s not offensive surely

What were the comments saying about Lisa F and why?

She didn’t elaborate. Just said that sometimes he would make rude jokes.

I’m not, but it sounds like the same tasteless jokes that Gregg seemed to be making.

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 20:33

Obviously John Torode was thinking of Gregg Wallace at the time then !

John was plating up a dish of toad in the hole during a cooking segment of This Morning when he joked: 'I never thought I'd say to Cat Deeley, ''Here's a little sausage for you darling'''

This Morning viewers appalled as John Torode makes 'sexual' comment

The TV judge, 59, was presenting a cooking segment on the ITV breakfast show and demonstrating how to make toad in the hole.

There really isn’t enough bleach in the world. This alone should justify him being sacked on the grounds of food hygiene.

I'm not defending him, but in some circles this is a bawdy joke. He must have forgotten that he was working in the hallowed halls of the Baybaysay. Or deluded himself into believing that they love his cheekiechappie persona.

Itsallsostressful · 28/11/2024 20:29

Didn't he tell his strictly partner Aliona he 'goes comando' 🤮 poor woman was very relived looking to be voted off.

Whatsitallaboutanyway · 28/11/2024 20:28

What comments did Lisa Faulkner get in the Dm a couple of weeks ago and what inappropriate comment did her husband make to Cat Deeley please?
