I can't see that 🤔

It's on Instagram.

Noshowlomo · 28/11/2024 18:17

Well well I thought he was a professional chef! And didn’t know anything else about him!!

Every day is a school day.

Mastertwat 😂😂

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 18:16

Rods statement was mentioned on the bbc news ;

Valkyrie3 · 28/11/2024 18:16

Don't forget that when he left his first wife and went back to collect his stuff, the first thing he took was his enormous pile of porn which was so big it filled the whole garage.
He's a turd. An clearly a massive wanker 🤮

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 28/11/2024 18:16

@RedToothBrush he does seem to have made being bald and integral part of his personality. Having said that he did put a post on social media the other day to prove he did have hair once.upon a time.

Sir Rod Stewart's x statement tonight was funny !
Karma indeed, but it took ages to get him

I can't see that 🤔

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 18:14

He was obviously one of those men who thought that ' banter ' and nudge nudge wink wink jokes would be tolerated
Sounds as if it was for a while, but unfortunately people didn't speak up at the time and he just got away with more and more. Probably loads more still working at the bbc too

Jumpingoffthefence · 28/11/2024 18:12

He’s not on it now…

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/11/2024 18:10

Ugh. We refer to him as the Fat Greengrocer or the Grubby Grocer... as in 'oh well the Fat Greengrocer won't eat it, must be bloody toxic then!'...

You see a lot of him getting side eye and dirty looks on Inside the Factory, I think there was one in a shoe factory and the lass he was talking to gave him a proper 'oh for fucks sake' look that was a clear editing choice to leave in the footage... made me howl!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 28/11/2024 18:10

EmotionalSupportPotato · 28/11/2024 17:23

He just gurns

AND SHOUTS. Even though the person he is talking to is right next to him 🙄.

Don't tar all bald men with the same brush!

I'm saying that Gregg was employed to make them feel better!

GettingStuffed · 28/11/2024 17:39

I don't like it bit IIRC he was supposed to be the ingredient specialist originally

Lancasterel · 28/11/2024 17:34

OVienna · 28/11/2024 13:26

It's always a quarter final. Endless quarter final episode. Has anyone else noticed that?!

And also they have Knockout Week, which I don’t understand as someone is knocked out every episode 🤷‍♀️ do love Professional Masterchef though.

YesterdaysFuture · 28/11/2024 17:32

The problem with the BBC is that they basically say that they sacked him for making some sexualised comments, which I think is a bit excessive, but they don't say about all the other allegations which are sackable offences.

Why do the BBC keep downplaying the serious stuff? Is it because they didn't want it known what they allowed him to get away with for years?

EmotionalSupportPotato · 28/11/2024 17:27

OnTheBounce · 28/11/2024 13:01

I would completely enjoy Inside the Factory if Gregg's voice could be dubbed by someone more soothing like Mark Rylance or Nigel Slater, so you'd get all the fun of the machines and the individual wrapping arms and the big stirring whisks, but without the frenetic 'SO SONJA YOU'RE IN CHARGE OF CHOCOLATE FINGERING HAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAA' and more '... and now one tonne of milk chocolate is being poured into the mixture.'

I cannot stand him in the factory. It's a shame as its a fun programme

IVFmumoftwo · 28/11/2024 17:27

RedToothBrush · 28/11/2024 17:23

I'm convinced he kept his job this long to make all other baldy middle aged men feel better about themselves.

Don't tar all bald men with the same brush!

gaggiagirl · 20/11/2024 20:42

Horrible man. I'm still getting over his 'typical Saturday'

Oh that was ABSURD

EmotionalSupportPotato · 28/11/2024 17:23

ColinOfficeTrolley · 20/11/2024 20:37

Haha. I don't think he does much on 'The Professionals' version.

I do prefer Monica and Marcus to John and Greg.

He just gurns

RedToothBrush · 28/11/2024 17:23

BringMeTea · 28/11/2024 17:21

Lol at all the sad men on here getting all discombobulated that one of their ilk has finally got what he richly deserves. Yes, it's all the 'woke wimmin's' fault eh? 😁

I'm convinced he kept his job this long to make all other baldy middle aged men feel better about themselves.

I used to love Masterchef when Lloyd Grossman was on it - when dinosaurs roamed the earth!

People mocked him (he had a very noticeable New England accent) but it was so much more civilised than with these 2 loud, loutish and irritating geezers.

Why do the BBC get it so wrong all the time? They find certain people and plaster them all over our screens, seemingly regardless of whether anyone actually likes them. I've come to the conclusion that BBC people live in a metropolitan media bubble and have limited contact with reality.

There are so many ubiquitous faces on the telly I'd like to pension off. They certainly put me off watching the shows they're on, whether I'm interested in the subject matter or not.

I want to know this too!

sharpclawedkitten · 28/11/2024 16:20

I don't like sexualised jokes, they are unpleasant and childish.

However, I would tell the person concerned.

Rather than moaning to the media years later.

I also wonder why people on the production team didn't tell him to put a sock in it.

Edited

If the person making the comments was the top talent who had power over you and your career or if a contestant, power over your opportunity? The big issue with many of the abuses of power in media is the power imbalance and the way in which "Talent" can abuse those around them with impunity.

The pressure on the lucky recipients of this type of attention to keep quiet is huge.

RedToothBrush · 28/11/2024 17:22

Thirteen separate people complaining as far back as at least 2011?!

I mean I'm not surprised by the revelation. I am surprised and disappointed it's taken the BBC THIS LONG to actually get rid of him.

I mean 13 YEARS. Come on.
