To think the youngest two should share?

3 bedroom house. Planning to move to a bigger house in around 3-5 years max.

Mum & dad take up one bedroom, then there's 2 left

3 kids
1 boy aged 7
1 boy aged 2
1 girl aged 1

AIBU to think that the shared room should be based on ages, not gender?

I think it'll be more suitable for the two youngest to share the bigger room since they're at similar routines, play together more etc

And then my 7 year old son in the smaller room alone

Others keep telling me it should be the boys sharing.

That will work until the girl hits 10 I reckon. Then she should get her own space

Toddlers together seems more sensible for now.

Yes, the little ones share.

Fine for the little ones to share.
Who are the 'others' telling you it's not OK, and why is it any of thier business?

Others are not living in your house so, of course, do what you think works best for your family. I can't imagine how it would work practically to have 7 and 2 year-olds sharing. It makes no sense to me when their routines are so different.

I think you are correct. At those young ages boys and girls sharing really doesn't matter.
