Years ago having breakfast with ex H, before going to work, radio on for news. Said a woman had died in a fire in the town where we lived. I knew 100%, it was my friend, I named her! I was correct. Leaving work one night, had this awful feeling of doom,(I was nursing old cottage hospital, nipped out the back entrance of the ward to the staff car park. It was very dark,an ambulance reversed down, didn't see me, I managed to get out of the way. A mile from home, lit straight stretch of dual carriageway,I was hit by an uninsured driver with no licence. Car overturned 3 times, I was trapped in the car. Luckily, people behind saw and got me out. We moved to a new property when my son was little, there was no landline installed we had to wait a year, walked to the local phone box. My (late) parents wouldn't have come round, unexpectedly. Late DM,smelt smoke, told my late father she had to come and see me (she didn't drive) a few days before,my now ex H, came home at 6am from a night shift, kids and i were fast asleep,he put some fat on the cooker (it was lard in those days,1980s) forgot about it,went to have a shower... thankfully alerted by our 2 dogs barking and scraping the bathroom door. We had decided not to tell my parents, because I had been in a fire as a child, saved by my DM. She had these "feelings" they were always correct, like when her brother died at 35, not been ill,no phones in those days, the police came to the door.
