Dh has walked off and left me alone at 1am in the street. 2 miles from home

Just that really. We were out with friends, going back to theirs. Dh refused to back to theirs but I don't know why. The others left in a cab. I couldn't leave dh alone in the pub. I I said I'm going home. He said OK. Followed me out in a fit and angry, cos he felt obliged to follow me. He's walked home. I'm 2 miles away from homre and sitting in the cold shivering
He messaged me to ask if I got an uber home. I said no, he said good we've spent £x on uber tonight.

He's walked home and I'm sitting on the kerb, 2 miles away in the dark, cold.

@Technonan I'm mortified that this thread has got so many posts. I only expected a few.

I've woken up with a v sore head. Not spoken to DH yet who is still in bed.

At least it wasn't on Facebook where everyone really knows you.

Everyone gets emotional when they've had a drink.
I would make it clear that it wasn't acceptable to leave you. Yes you can get home by yourself but it's still a bit shit.

But he did leave though and he shouldn’t have.

He walked home. He said he didn’t want the OP to walk with him, but there was absolutely nothing stopping her walking home five feet behind him if she didn’t want to get a taxi by herself.

Why would she tell them? They’re 15.

Well most people do silly stuff when drunk

Maybe cut down on drinking

Hope head feels better soon

Too much booze and losing your temper? Most of us have been there. I'm glad you're safe.

CurlewKate · 16/11/2024 10:47

@SnoopysHoose "OP was free to walk with him/call a taxi but choose to behave like a petulant child. I think most of us would have left her, she sounds a right pain in the arse."

Is that what you tell your kids to do to a mate?

You certainly kept the insomniacs amongst us going, OP. Hope you’re feeling a bit better this morning.

In future, Uber is your friend.

@SwerveCity
He didn't leave her, she chose to sit on the kerb in some weird manipulative behaviour, this is not on the man for a change.

But he did leave though and he shouldn’t have.

@JustinThyme "Or you can’t be arsed with the melodrama and figure your idiot drama llama wife can get in a taxi herself now she’s thrown five kinds of hissy fit in half an hour.

Even her friends couldn’t be arsed telling her to ring for a taxi.

No one was giving her the audience she craved so she sulked on a kerbside while telling strangers Mumsnet how badly done by she was."
Doesn't matter. You fume and rage and decide you never want to see them again-but you don't leave a friend in a vulnerable position. Isn't that what you tell your kids? Everyone in this ridiculous saga is shit in different ways.

BlueMum16 · 16/11/2024 10:18

You left the pub at 11.45 saying you were going home. You told DP he didn't need to come with you.

Why did you not go straight home?

Why not call and Uber and get home safely?

Why sit on the kerb for over an hour before deciding to walk home?

This appears to be about wanting attention from DP and not getting it.

There must be more background to this.

Glad you finally walked home and safe and warm now.

Exactly.

Behaving like a 12 year old instead of using her grown up status to sort herself out and then her words to tell him what the real problem is.

zingally · 16/11/2024 10:39

I've just read through all of OPs replies... Bloody heck, she sat there for at least 2 hours before getting up and walking. Absolutely mental.

Hope you're okay of course OP, but that's not normal behaviour.

Discombobble · 16/11/2024 10:39

This all makes no sense whatsoever- are you usually this ridiculous?

OchAyeTheN00 · 16/11/2024 10:38

The avril lavigne adaption is hilarious. I just sang it to my DH.

zingally · 16/11/2024 10:36

Presumably you're home by now.

Why didn't you just walk with him?

Huffing on your phone, sat on a kerb alone, at 1 in the morning isn't a good look for a grown woman.

gannett · 16/11/2024 10:36

This thread was like a mirror to reality in that after readng the 39384th iteration of "he's left me on the KERB", I too felt like walking off and leaving OP alone.

Bangwam1 · 16/11/2024 10:35

A whole two miles you say?

Walk. Why you babying a man and then expecting him to be protective? What is this?

wellington77 · 16/11/2024 10:33

Someone just said this is avril lavine lyrics?!!!

No decent person, man or woman, would leave anyone, man or woman, alone and drunk at 1 in the morning. No matter how annoying they were being, you pour them into taxi and get them home.

Or you can’t be arsed with the melodrama and figure your idiot drama llama wife can get in a taxi herself now she’s thrown five kinds of hissy fit in half an hour.

We were supposed to get in a cab to friends house. He refused but don't know why. Friends left
He told me to go with them
But I wasn't going to leave him alone in pub at 11.45pm. Friends left. I then said I was going home. He got the arse and felt like he HAD to follow me
I said don't bother if you feel like that
I've Been sitting on the cold kurb for an hour
He has walked home and messaged to day he's home if I need him. (He's drunk and can't drive to get me )

Edited

Not sure why you couldn’t leave a grown man in a pub and then if you told him not to bother to walk with you then why would he- this is a man they take things at face value and don’t realise you meant for him to do the opposite
