Just that really. We were out with friends, going back to theirs. Dh refused to back to theirs but I don't know why. The others left in a cab. I couldn't leave dh alone in the pub. I I said I'm going home. He said OK. Followed me out in a fit and angry, cos he felt obliged to follow me. He's walked home. I'm 2 miles away from homre and sitting in the cold shivering
He messaged me to ask if I got an uber home. I said no, he said good we've spent £x on uber tonight.

He's walked home and I'm sitting on the kerb, 2 miles away in the dark, cold.

Neither of you should be drinking alcohol if it makes you that immature. Jesus! 51!!!!!

pavementgerms · 16/11/2024 06:49

Glad you got home, but.. in the hour you'd sat on the kerb sulking you could have walked home (and back, probably if it was only two miles). In future don't get so drunk that you can't make sensible decisions.

RoundandRounnnd · 16/11/2024 06:49

And you thought the best course of action was to write on MN?
I don’t believe this story. But if it is true, I could see why someone would walk away from this type of behaviour. I feel sorry for the son.

Butchyrestingface · 16/11/2024 06:47

Oh, Jesus, you’re 51. I thought you were a 20 something with young kids. Definitely time to get a grip.

DottieMoon · 16/11/2024 06:45

You are ridiculous. Grow up.

duvetstealer · 16/11/2024 06:43

So you were playing mind games and it back fired, then you sulked about it.
Grow up, you're not in the playground anymore!

TheKoalaWhoCould · 16/11/2024 06:42

Oooh you are going to be so embarrassed when you read this back this morning, you absolute drama llama. “I’m sleeping on the kerb tonight” Grin We’ve all been there. I mean, maybe not the sleeping on the kerb announcement part, but the overdramatising a tiny thing. Have a full fat coke, and a shower, and write this one off!

ShiteRider · 16/11/2024 06:40

This is very manipulative and childish behaviour on your part. At lots of points in this drama, you had the choice to make more sensible choices. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were drunk and not yourself.

ParanormalNorman · 16/11/2024 06:33

What a load of over dramatic old nonsense. If this is typical for a night out drinking, I suggest you both give it up and do something less toxic with your time.

Startinganew32 · 16/11/2024 06:32

This is very child like behaviour - sitting out in the cold on a pavement and declaring you will sleep there (it was freezing last night). It suggests that the dynamic between you and your DH is quite an abusive one that you react like this. You need to decide whether you stay with someone who brings out this side of you or you separate but doing stupid things like this can’t continue.

I find it quite scary that you have a child. Please don’t teach them that this is normal behaviour. It’s not and you were quite vulnerable sitting out in the cold. You should have immediately got a taxi or walked home.
Youre an adult. If your awful sounding DH storms home, you either follow him walking or get a cab. You don’t sit crying on the pavement saying “he knows I’m out in the cold but he doesn’t care. I could be dead for all he knows”. Yeah no shit he doesn’t care about you - that much has been established. And as he was drunk what did you expect him to actually do.

rwalker · 16/11/2024 06:32

You caused all this yourself
you could of gone to friends you could of got a taxi home you could of left him
it just sounds like you were deliberately trying to push DH buttons for a reaction

Butchyrestingface · 16/11/2024 06:32

I’m assuming you’re as drunk as a Lord, OP. Hopefully you’ll both reflect on some pish poor decision-making when you wake up with a thumping sore head. But good you’re home now.

LolleePop · 16/11/2024 06:23

The maddest thing about all of this, is that your first thought was to post on mumsnet about what was happening.
I mean that is a weird thing to do.
Your friends had gone home probably feeling pissed off because it was planned for you to go back to theirs with them.
Your husband has walked home without you.
You're freezing cold in the street feeling upset.
And the first thing you think is "I know what I'll do, I'll sit on the kerb and post about this on mumsnet instead of going home".
Weird!

olivechuu · 16/11/2024 06:22

Between kerbgate and the airfryer divorce you can sure tell it was a full moon last night.

SwanSong1 · 16/11/2024 06:21

Wingedharpy · 16/11/2024 01:04

Put the phone away, get up off the kerb and go home.

Exactly ridiculous isn't she

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 16/11/2024 06:18

your husband didn’t leave you alone, you chose to stay out alone. You said you were leaving , fine but then you surely thought yourself capable of making your own way home. The whole situation was ridiculous

SwanSong1 · 16/11/2024 06:17

Last place I would be is updating Mumsnet. Seriously some people

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 16/11/2024 06:17

Boopadoop90 · 16/11/2024 01:04

He was in a huff but don't know why. I said I'm going home, he v reluctantly followed me I said don't bother. He said he wanted to walk home alone. So I let him. I'm in the cold, shivering, a good 2 miles away

Well this changes it

Shoxfordian · 16/11/2024 06:15

Why didn't you just get an uber or walk with him? Stupid really

Izzy24 · 16/11/2024 06:03

At least it was a full moon last night …

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 16/11/2024 06:01

I don’t understand why you didn’t just get yourself a taxi or an Uber? You made this all worse for yourself just to prove a point… doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship & like you both had too much to drink to act like adults

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 05:50

Wowser. Just finished reading this. OP must be sleeping like a log now she's (finally) home.

Don't do this again @Boopadoop90 to make a point, you won't 'win'

Differentstarts · 16/11/2024 05:45

DogsandFlowers · 16/11/2024 01:05

Cos.... predatory men??!

Firstly sitting on the pavement on her phone is more dangerous then just walking home. Secondly It's very rare for people to be harmed by strangers. The majority of crimes against women are by people they know.

LBFseBrom · 16/11/2024 05:42

If he walked home why did you not just follow him?

Daschund · 16/11/2024 05:37

I can see from your updates you're home but was your safety really worth it to cause drama? You saw him walking and chose not to follow, to sit there vulnerable saying you'd sleep on the kerb. Can you not see how immature and dangerous this could have been? but to prove a point you supposedly sat there updating MN whilst berating DH.
Your DH may have behaved badly, you definitely did.
