Just that really. We were out with friends, going back to theirs. Dh refused to back to theirs but I don't know why. The others left in a cab. I couldn't leave dh alone in the pub. I I said I'm going home. He said OK. Followed me out in a fit and angry, cos he felt obliged to follow me. He's walked home. I'm 2 miles away from homre and sitting in the cold shivering
He messaged me to ask if I got an uber home. I said no, he said good we've spent £x on uber tonight.

He's walked home and I'm sitting on the kerb, 2 miles away in the dark, cold.

Yes, the OP is being childish, but I’d hazard a guess that her DH has a habit of being quite selfish and acting as if she doesn’t matter. This comes across to me as some kind of test of how much he cares for her. She wanted him to stay and sort their differences and make sure she got home safe. Yes, it’s toxic and completely the wrong course of action, but it’s OP’s way of saying ‘show me I matter’. If her DH was a decent man, this sort of behaviour would be far less likely to happen.

Or maybe the OP often behaves this way and he’s finally had enough.

She told him to leave. Its not her husbands fault she cant communicate like an adult.

Coolasfeck · 16/11/2024 07:20

So long story short, you’re both pissed and making childish decisions. You’re as bad as each other. You sound like teenagers not adults with a child.

Oh hun I understand this so much. I would have done exactly this with my ex, because I felt so unprotected by him. It awakens your inner little girl, doesn’t it, and you just want him to show up for you.
be your own strong protector. Never again put yourself in a vulnerable position so he’ll protect you or take care of you, because he won’t.
this is a small sign of a big problem. There’s something you’re not feeling secure about in your relationship, and this is just a symptom of it.
I’m so sorry. I know how much that hurts and how a person can just get stuck.

please take good care of yourself FIRST, moving forward.
the more you take care of yourself, the more you show that neglected inner part of you that you are worth it, that you are worthy of your own love and care. And the more you heal, the less you’ll be able to tolerate his bullshit.

Fuck me. More issues than Vogue.

My mum used to say you'd get piles from sitting on cold kerbs.

😂😂😂

I think she was too drunk to be rational.

I don’t think you have to be rational to be emotionally manipulative. She wanted him to behave a certain way and tried to teach him a bizarre lesson. Maybe if she was sober she would have gone about it differently.

Hercisback1 · 16/11/2024 07:11

You're 51 😂😂😂😂😂

What a thread.

People keep saying it takes 30-40 mins to walk two miles, but that would be a pretty fast walking speed of 3-4 mph - fast for an average height female. It would take me an hour, easily. Two miles is quite a long way, especially if you're the worse for wear.

i did the maths too but it does take me (an average height woman) 40 minutes. Probably would take longer if I was drunk to be fair.

JawsCushion · 16/11/2024 07:08

This is such a silly situation.

It's ok he didn't want to go to friends. You could still have.

It's okay he wanted to stay longer, you could have stayed or gone to friends or got a taxi home.

All the posts saying the same thing about being cold, sleeping on the kerb, etc are immature. You could have walked home behind him if you didn't want to walk together. You'd not have been alone.

I walked home. V cold ! And dark

Why didn't you just get an uber/taxi?

Zonder · 16/11/2024 07:03

Boopadoop90 · 16/11/2024 01:12

He has left me in the dark and alone

TBF you did tell him not to bother walking with you.

His behaviour was rubbish. Did you ask why he didn't want to go to friends?

Your behaviour is stupid and childish. Why on earth would you sleep on a kerb when you're half an hour from home? Why wouldn't you walk or get an Uber? You're cutting off your nose to spite your face here.

LoudSnoringDog · 16/11/2024 07:02

This is one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on here

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 07:02

It's funny (as in seems strange) when you wake up really early and get a cup of tea and there are all these threads about still being out or other half not home yet.

Makes me feel a bit boring tbh as the only time I stay up late now is if I'm at a friend's or can't sleep and watch a film!

hot2trotter · 16/11/2024 07:01

If this is real, you need to grow up.

CaptainMyCaptain · 16/11/2024 06:58

DogsandFlowers · 16/11/2024 01:05

Cos.... predatory men??!

She's sitting still in the dark that won't protect her from predatory men. She should get up and walk.

Freysimo · 16/11/2024 06:57

My mum used to say you'd get piles from sitting on cold kerbs.

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 06:56

Main thing is that OP is at home in the warm now. But a big talk later with H about how they both behave is required...

I'm sure OP will know what a wally she's been when she wakes up.

LiarLiarKnickersAblaze · 16/11/2024 06:55

batmansknickers · 16/11/2024 03:10

You know, I actually thought for moment that this was a troll, and it might well still be one; thing is that there are people around that are ACTUALLY this utterly mad.

"I'll stay out all night in the cold that'll learn im!"

I think what she’s done is extremely emotionally manipulative.

Orquid · 16/11/2024 06:53

Hope you got some sleep; no very considerate behaviour of your husband; he clearly needs to grow up but so do you; seating in a kerb in the midfield of the night instead of taking an uber or walking home; quite an attention seeker behaviour

HelplessSoul · 16/11/2024 06:53

TBH, the OP and her other half are fucking stupid.

ThianWinter · 16/11/2024 06:51

The OP is 51?
Jesus wept, I assumed she was a pissed up 20 something.
What a load of over dramatic bollocks.
Two miles is, what, a 40 minute walk?
Pathetic.

ShiteRider · 16/11/2024 06:50

Butchyrestingface · 16/11/2024 06:47

Oh, Jesus, you’re 51. I thought you were a 20 something with young kids. Definitely time to get a grip.

51?! Oh dear
