Has this been verified and shouldn't panda's be in their natural habitat?

PennyCrayon1 · 14/11/2024 00:33

Red pandas don’t belong in the city, to be fair.

This is the wider issue.

TrumptonsFireEngine · 14/11/2024 00:32

Definitely need to ban Edinburgh festival fireworks, those at the tattoo and all of their hogmany fireworks too. The one o’clock gun too.

I’d prefer to be the ‘spelling police’ than someone who mocks animals suffering and people who suffer ptsd. I think that’s what your weird Rambo comment was earlier anyway.

Aww look at her little face. She was just a little baby. She must have been so terrified without her mum.

Tryna, cos, wit, aint. Everything else with ‘correct’ spelling (albeit not always grammatically correct) but just such misspellings on simple words, with everything else largely alright. Almost as though you’re deliberately posting in an inflammatory manner. Waiting for comments to come to you. Perhaps you need a bit more of a sparkler in your life? Or a rocket to light things up.

I would shove a rocket up their arse quite frankly. A lit one.

I've reported you several times.

You're lacking awareness and empathy for anyone but yourself is just scary.

This person cannot be real.

Its not 5th November that is the issue. Public displays only, with legal requirements of notice etc wouldnt be a problem. Animal carers could make arrangements to keep their animals safe and lessen the exposure to noise as much as possible.

Its public sales of fireworks that is the issue. Families buying them and setting them off as and when they fancy, kids getting hold of them and "having a laugh", every single fucking wedding in firework season......these things are the issue.

Banning the sale of fireworks above sparkler level, and needing a licence from the local council to buy fireworks from specially licensed retailers (so not Asda etc) would stop the random shit that upsets animals.

I would add.

My father is deaf and so has bilateral Cochlear Implants. These are better than hearing aids but they are not as selective as natural hearing. Fireworks, loud music, a random shout, applause etc all make him jump hugely (to the point where he is on anti anxiety medication). He is what we call DeafDeaf between the end of October and the second week in January as he doesnt use his implants and we all sign due to the effects. It upsets all of us, but him mostly, that he misses out on so much because of it. Humans with Autism, blindness, some types of hearing loss, etc etc etc. are also badly affected.

Its not just animals.

Great but people aren’t talking about banning responsibly run public shows. We are talking about weeks on end of idiots letting off their own ‘displays’ in public spaces, near others houses, or throwing them at people passing by and also dumping all their rubbish in the ground for others to deal with.

People who want to let off fireworks should be made to get a licence from the council then maybe they would take some personal responsibility.

Fireworks are 20 minutes or less of 'fun' on repeat across multiple areas which harms animals and some people. It's not worth it. Surely drone shows in dedicated areas are the way forward?

Reporting you. You're clearly a wind up poster looking for attention.

Or you're just a very selfish, self absorbed, entitled prick.

And this is the type of person I referred to in my post. They have absolutely no concept of how fireworks affect others and refuse to think about the damage they do wot wildlife, pets or humans. 🙄

Are you a wind up?

A troll poster?

You cannot spell.

You lack empathy.

You're an idiot.

Yes they’re on the wind up. They like the bangs of fireworks, innit.

This is the email from Edinburgh Zoo.
Red panda update from Edinburgh Zoo

We are sad to share the loss of Roxie, our red panda cub.

Roxie had recently lost her mum, Ginger, but was responding well to specialist care from our expert team and was feeding independently.

Very sadly, she choked on her vomit on bonfire night and our vets believe this was probably a reaction to fireworks. Roxie had access to her den but the frightening noises seem to have been too much for her. We are also concerned that fireworks cause stress to other animals in the zoo.

Fireworks can cause fear and distress for pets, livestock and animals in zoos, so it is essential that the UK government tightens restrictions. We support calls from animal welfare charities to ban the sale of fireworks to the public, with only light displays being permitted at organised events.

We are asking visitors, supporters and members like you to contact your local MP and MSP and support the petition delivered to the UK Government earlier this month which called for tighter restrictions on the use of fireworks and was signed by more than a million people.

——

My poor dog is still petrified. I wish they could be restricted to just official events and sales banned. I have a family member who grew up in a conflict zone and they’re a nervous wreck this time of year too.

Why do you have the inability to spell correctly simple words, yet everything else is perfect? Almost as though the ones you’re choosing to misspell are typical slang spellings. Odd.
