Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

The use of the term "side chicks" is bringing to mind images of sweaty fat 60+ year old men with comb-overs and terrible teeth leering at girls 40 years too young for them.

Have we been invaded by these creeps?

Freethebees · 11/11/2024 20:54

She's the poster girl for side chicks everywhere. Impossible to like either her or Charlie sadly.

Fully agree with OP.

Same

Corey28 · 12/11/2024 00:06

If having an affair with a man constituted abusing the wife then many bitter wives would have pursued the ow legally....but it's never happened because it isn't abuse.

Camilla isn't an abuser! Honestly. It takes away from the seriousness of abuse when people make ridiculous claims.

Gorgonemilezola · 11/11/2024 23:53

Charles and Diana should not have married. Diana had several extra marital affairs, causing grief to several women who she quite obviously didn't give a thought to, but appears to have been canonised by some. Relationships are complex. Charles and Camilla seem well suited. Camilla's work to highlight the plight of victims of dv is to be applauded.

'And yet she committed cruelty and abuse herself.'

Don't be so utterly crass and ridiculous.

What are your thoughts on what @hazelnutwhirl just said :

"I am with op, can’t stand Camilla, she was complicit in the emotional abuse of Diana, she was carrying on with Charles whilst he was engaged and Diana was only 19. Camilla is only supporting domestic violence to make her self look good."

That's what I feel was so bad about it.

They took advantage of and abused Diana, precisely because she was young and innocent. They were ten years older than her.

PickAChew · 11/11/2024 23:45

There are people on this thread who remind me why I have the Royal family topic blocked.

Is it a full moon?

I actually think Camilla is far better suited to Charles than Diana ever was, but what I think is irrelevant, they're together and seemingly happily married. Quite frankly I find it madness that anyone gives a shit about something that happened so long ago, especially when the situation clearly isn't black and white with wrongdoing from all parties involved.

I think it's fantastic that Camilla is using her profile to highlight the abuse and violence against women and girls. I've heard one of her speeches on the topic before and she came across as very passionate about the subject. The more people speaking out the better.

She's been campaigning for the victims of domestic violence for years. She carries on despite people like you.

And yet she committed cruelty and abuse herself.

People don't forget.

And people also don't forget that she hired a pr team to improve her bad image

How is it for her own benefit when people like you are ripping her apart?

It's to try to improve her image.

It hasn't worked for me or the OP. But it might improve her image in some other people's minds

@EdithWeston
Your link is from 2013- are you saying that’s when Camilla’s interest in this area began ? So 10 years ago ?

Her grandfather abused his pregnant wife . Also , Camilla said that one of her friends was a victim .

I'm not sure why people are so shocked that a member of the RF has had affairs. Most King's have had mistresses. Most of the aristocracy have been shagging each other and various Royals outside of marriage for centuries. If being a faithful husband was a prerequisite for being King then we wouldn't have had any.

Edited

Did king George sixth have any affairs.

Ger1atricMillennial · 11/11/2024 23:23

This is an absolutely disgusting post. Women are not objects but people, even the Royals are people.

Read up on it. Chas wanted Camilla back in the 70/s80s but it was against protocol to marry a woman like her. Do you have no idea how the royal family used to be? Its only in recent years they've relaxed so many of their protocols.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 23:24

If the Windsors were genuine in their charitable efforts Channel 4 wouldn’t have been to make the dispatches programme uncovering how they charge charities rent ( and the nhs)

Sincere concern for the disadvantaged would result in them paying all their taxes and throwing a few billion back to the people they’ve taken from
Do that and might believe their ‘charity ‘ is genuine

Ger1atricMillennial · 11/11/2024 23:23

Freethebees · 11/11/2024 22:58

You can call her whatever you like but the term Queen is an insult to Liz II. And even more so that in the 80s Chas had to marry a virginal type but 25 years later ended up with someone else's cast off. I used to love the monarchy as well.

This is an absolutely disgusting post. Women are not objects but people, even the Royals are people.

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 23:22

Ok have it your way Camilla is a domestic abuser, Prince William can solve homelessness in one fell swoop by handing over Windsor Castle and Diana needs to be canonised to become St Diana the Wronged, there you go that will make everything right in your world.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 23:21

Yes OP- I believe ALL royal charity work is hypocritical- the royals benefit more than the charity . It’s PR for them and the charity does not seem to benefit much at all .
There was a report a few years ago which pointed this out .

They need a new trick and fast

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 23:17

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 23:11

You are not pointing it out at all, you are coming up with ridiculous suggestions to an incredibly complex issue.

The point is 'it's hypocritical for an extremely wealthy man , who has benefitted from an extremely unfair system - to then do a documentary about homeless people"

When he is rolling in riches himself. And he wont stop benefitting from the unfair system. Do you not see that?

I'm certainly far from the only person who has said that about william

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 23:14

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 23:06

You most certainly are, go back and read your posts.

But you do realise that another person (op) started this thread - about camilla being hypocritical,

And that is why we are all discussing the topic Yes?

No one is extremely upset over camilla. We are discussing the OPs post.
