Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

This is such a weird thread

None of us, as far as I can tell were personally involved in whatever marital shenanigans occurred within the very messy 70-90's period in the royal family.

Camilla has worked for many years supporting da charities and sarc's

If you've ever had to use a sarc or take someone there you would understand how valuable any support is.

Exactly.

What the documentary sought to highlight seems to have got rather lost from the thread

sweatervest · 12/11/2024 20:21

i thought the programme was good/interesting/sad/essential. all of those.

although i know i did the right thing, the programme confirmed to me i did the right thing when i did and how precarious the whole thing/situations like that is/are.

when you feel like you've been buried, in fact you've been planted. (as i read on the www recently). that wouldn't have helped me at the time but it's a nice thing (to me, anyway)

Yeah the timing of the Welby revelations aren't helping are they?

They certainly aren't.

It’s a shame that there is one poster in particular who gives so little a shit about victims of domestic violence that she has felt the need to derail the thread in this way.

And before someone says that there have been others who have agreed, there is only one who has posted on here dozens and dozens of times with the clear intention of derailing the thread.

Maybe go out and get a real job, and if you want to start a Camilla hate fest, go and start your own thread.

You are derailing this particular page, as, if you look, multiple posters on this page have been posting about how dark and corrupt the royal family are.

Then you come on and post this odd post.

😂 let’s apply to canonise her.

Talking about things that happened doesn’t stop people ‘resting in peace’ whatever that means. Any group discussion about Diana is guaranteed to include James Hewitt, Will Carling & Hasnat Khan to name but a few. It’s the same as discussing scandals attached to any celebrity - alive or dead.

I don't and didn't make any claim about stopping people resting in peace - just that it would be nice if Diana's memory were left alone and not unnecessarily besmirched (I would say that about any deceased person btw, and it is not the same thing as legitimate criticism that has relevance today).

And this discussion is not actually about Diana. There is no need to mention all her boyfriends' names, as if having a few boyfriends discredits her and is in itself unsavoury.

Is the RF a catalyst for all the ills around us I often wonder?

Do they embody avarice, sloth, adultery, pride, lust etc.? You know, the deadly sins in the Bible, that book that is symbolic of the CofE of which King Charles is the Head?

You couldn't make this duplicity up if you tried.

Many people at the very top are evil and corrupted.

The biggest mystery is why we keep allowing a royal family to be there.

Does Chas still talk to his plants?

Well maybe if the royals stopped helping themselves to huge amounts of money tax free - including taking from charities ie from donations made by members of the public on their taxed income - there would be more money for refuges and survivors' needs.

I'm afraid I take everything any of the royals say about social issues with a big pinch of salt.

I absolutely agree with your last part.

ZingyGoldTraybake · 12/11/2024 20:08

Ill happily call her a queen consort but calling her a queen is offensive to Queen Liz 2nd.

Sylviacrystal · 12/11/2024 20:06

GetrudeCoppard · 12/11/2024 20:04

She’s as much a queen as consorts before her were, and just as much as Kate will be.

I’m not a monarchist, but I think she does a bloody good job.

A bloody good job? She hasn't done much

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 12/11/2024 19:38

No I’m currently posting about you, do you often struggle with comprehension?

Edited

Bless. You didn't even understand what i wrote. And then you said that i struggle with comprehension.

You wrote that I was obsessed with camilla .

I wrote "how can you say that someone else(meaning me) is obsessed with camilla, when you are here also posting about Camilla."

I'll write it in much simpler English for you.

How can you say that I'm obsessed with Camilla, when here you are posting multiple posts about Camilla yourself.

Doesn't really make sense does it..

GetrudeCoppard · 12/11/2024 20:04

ZingyGoldTraybake · 12/11/2024 19:49

She's not a proper queen. Never was never will be.

I just want to state that I think some of the comments about Diana on here are utterly ghastly. Whatever mistakes she may have made.....she has been dead for nearly 30 years. Can't her memory be left in peace?

I agree.

I feel they do charity work when it suits them.

But then as you say, the royal family takes huge amounts of money.

It's not irrelevant. The monarchy are only there as long as people want them there.

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 12/11/2024 19:42

Yes it’s a shame that one poster in particular has caused all this disruption when we should have been focusing on the cause, I won’t engage with them further as it is actually quite upsetting that something so important has been completely derailed by someone’s personal hatred of an individual.

One poster! This is laughable.

At least twenty posters on here have said that camilla is horrible , nasty and hypocritical

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 12/11/2024 19:50

ZingyGoldTraybake · 12/11/2024 19:49

The way you used the swearword, at me, is. not allowed.

And mumsnet have now deleted your vile post.

You were deleted too.

So leaving that behind - what did you think of the actual programme. It's pretty clear you wish C hadn't been involved at all. So leave those parts to one side. What did you think about the rest?
