Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

Regarding william

I just think it's a but much that a man who comes from a family with multiple palaces, -

A familt who have more homes than they could ever need, while people are living on the street:

talks about homelessness.

Edited

So better he does fuck all then? I expect you have a spare bedroom or two, invite the homeless to live with you, if you are not prepared to do that then you are a hypocrite.

Menowhatdoyoucallit · 11/11/2024 22:41

In fact when Charles and Camilla first met, Diana was only 9 years old!

No charles and camilla were first.

They met before Diana was even a thought on the radar. For someone so anti Camilla I would expect you to be up on your Royal trivia. You're a bit rubbish at this game.

They don’t care at all really, all the vociferous posters on here who are so angry probably have husbands who have left them or had affairs, they are just projecting their anger onto Camilla, they are not arbiters of moral values on marriage, they have just been personally affected by it and Camilla is the easy target to take it out on.

No. No man that I've been in relationship has ever had an affair with another woman. (To my knowledge).

I still think that Camilla was disgusting

Great, lets hope all the negative nancies get it deleted and then it takes away the promotion of the programme on here. Well done OW lovers.

Gosh your husband really made you bitter.

I read that Di stepped out in the marriage first. I understand she married very young. She also had an affair with a married man (calling his house something like 150 times in one night iirc) and I believe Dodi also had a fiance when she was with him.

No charles and camilla were first.

Good grief there's some bloody lunatics on here!!!! 😂

Has the Daily Express site crashed and all it's readership found it's way here?

I don't think either of them are bad. It was a shit situation that none of them should ever have been put in. I'm just amazed that people still care so much about it.

Honestly, you sound elderly and obsessed with a silly grudge. The only reason Camilla is infamous is because of the Press, not her behaviour- it was no worse than millions of other women. She's certainly paid for it.

I'm not elderly.

I don't know if you've noticed, but a lot of other posters on here have said the same thing I have about Camilla.

No one likes the other woman.

And camilla is the most infamous other woman in the UK.

I am no fan of Royalty, but Camilla has spoken out about DV before and I believe she said she knows women affected.

Having an affair because of a bad marriage and a difficult partner is not abuse FFS. I believe Diana had more affairs than Charles when they were married anyway.

"she knows women affected" = "I have a black friend"

Maybe actually have someone host it who was personally affected. Lord knows there are enough of them.

Ah I see now, there's more to it than what happened in the 1980s. It touches a nerve with you.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 11/11/2024 22:25

Of course people think that the Royal Family killed Diana. The most photographed and recognisable woman in the world, who had just started to get her independence, suddenly dies without warning. I’d be amazed if there wasn’t people thinking it was a conspiracy. Complete accidents happened but when it happens to someone in her position people find it very hard to accept at face value.

It’s like if we woke up to the news tomorrow that Taylor Swift had died in an accident, many people would suddenly start looking for proof that wasn’t there.

LuluBlakey1 · 11/11/2024 22:25

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 22:18

Well why didn't he bloody marry camilla not Diana.

Yes he was under pressure. But he was an adult he should have stood up for himself.

People don't like it because Diana was dragged into it like a lamb to a slaughter and used as a breeding machine

She made her choices. She wasn't blameless and was highly manipulative herself. She's long dead. Stop getting so worked up about her- you sound ridiculous. She doesn't care any more and had made her peace with Charles well before she died.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 22:25

I have not read the full thread but I’d like to know when Camilla’s interest in these charities began exactly .
I suspect the charity work and the choice of this area in particular formed part of the intensive image rehabilitation effort that royal advisors set in train for Camilla . Wasn’t a tabloid editor employed ?
We’ve all seem the photos of Camilla laughing it up with Jeremy clarkson, and we know what he wrote .

Menowhatdoyoucallit · 11/11/2024 22:25

I'm enjoying that this thread has gone from anti-Camilla to a Camilla love-in. Its overdue.

@Sylviacrystal and it's not hypocritical at all because whatever happened in the past is irrelevant now.

But I don't think it is irrelevant

I thought the programme was excellent and Camillia was great, as was Rosie Duffield and all the other brave women who spoke out.

100% agree with you, op.
She knew exactly the trauma that Diana was suffering thanks to her and Charles. To inflict that on another woman, a mother of two children, is disgusting.

but Diana did exactly that. Not to one but multiple women, if anything Diana was far worse than both Charles and Camilla.

But somehow I don’t think that if Diana had still been alive and hosting the same documentary the op would be so annoyed. But why not?

I think she probably has a platform among an age demographic of women who might traditionally hide abuse and never report it or seek support. Someone with a platform like hers can only shine a spotlight on an important issue and potentially lead to support for people.

I think this is an excellent point.
I don’t think Camilla abused Diana at all I think she caused her a lot of emotional pain but comparing her to a DV perpetrator is a reach.
