Apoplectic that ITV have chosen Queen Camilla to host a documentary highlighting the domestic abuse of women when she was King Charle's OW for many years and complicit in his abuse of Princess Diana.

World gone mad!

Pointing out the severe wealth and severe poverty in the UK, is fact.

You are not pointing it out at all, you are coming up with ridiculous suggestions to an incredibly complex issue.

Honestly you sound clueless.

I'm not upset at all. We are discussing how hypocritical it is for camilla to do this documentary.

You do realise that's what thus thread was started for, yes?

The OP (not me) posted that camilla is hypocritical for doing this documentary, and we are all replying to the OP.

You most certainly are, go back and read your posts.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 23:04

@EdithWeston
Your link is from 2013- are you saying that’s when Camilla’s interest in this area began ? So 10 years ago ?

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 23:03

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 22:46

I live in a studio flat..

The royal families are more hypocrites aren't they, when they have multiple palaces?

If they gave one palace for public use for the homeless, you would get a lot of homeless people off the streets.

Honestly you sound clueless.

Sorry don’t believe you at all, no one gets so ridiculously upset about an affair that happened to a dead person who you never met nearly 40 years ago, your projection is obvious.

I'm not sure why people are so shocked that a member of the RF has had affairs. Most King's have had mistresses. Most of the aristocracy have been shagging each other and various Royals outside of marriage for centuries. If being a faithful husband was a prerequisite for being King then we wouldn't have had any.

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 22:59

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 22:39

No. No man that I've been in relationship has ever had an affair with another woman. (To my knowledge).

I still think that Camilla was disgusting

Freethebees · 11/11/2024 22:58

You can call her whatever you like but the term Queen is an insult to Liz II. And even more so that in the 80s Chas had to marry a virginal type but 25 years later ended up with someone else's cast off. I used to love the monarchy as well.

I thought queen consort was only a title for the wife of a king until they themselves are coronated then their title is changed to queen?

No it's the title given to any woman who is married to a king.

It's different from a queen who is a queen by inheriting the title. Queen consort Is only queen because she married a king. Whereas queen Elizabeth 2 was a queen by birthright.

So the queen mother Was a queen consort because she married a king
Queen Elizabeth 2 was a queen
Camilla is queen consort as she married a king.

I have not read the full thread but I’d like to know when Camilla’s interest in these charities began exactly .
I suspect the charity work and the choice of this area in particular formed part of the intensive image rehabilitation effort that royal advisors set in train for Camilla . Wasn’t a tabloid editor employed ?
We’ve all seem the photos of Camilla laughing it up with Jeremy clarkson, and we know what he wrote .

Queen Consort is a job title, the Queen Mother was a Queen Consort, Queen Mary was a Queen Consort, every Queen who is married to a King is a consort, they are not known as Queen Consort they are known as Queen or Queen and their first name.

No one is ranting on about it like you . If you don't like her don't watch or read anything about her. Sit at home and do your Diana scarapbooks.

Lots of poster are "ranting" like me actually.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 22:50

There has been a years long campaign to smear Diana - culminating in William disgracefully calling his mother paranoid.
The campaign has worked on some clearly
Camilla was one of several mistresses Charles had .

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 22:41

So better he does fuck all then? I expect you have a spare bedroom or two, invite the homeless to live with you, if you are not prepared to do that then you are a hypocrite.

Hoplolly · 11/11/2024 22:46

Ah St Diana. I don't think she even loved Charles. She was a social climber. Why else would you willingly marry a man you knew didn't love you?

GiveusatwirlAnthea · 11/11/2024 22:46

MoonWoman69 · 11/11/2024 21:27

For a start, no Camilla is not Queen... She is and should be titled Queen Consort. Because that is what she is.
I have not been a royalist for many years, I have no time for them. But I do quite like Camilla.
And if domestic violence is a cause she chooses to support and a programme is made about it, which is including her support, then who gives a shit who she is and what she's done? Does it really matter if it's her or some celebrity female?
I'm sick of all this holier than thou postulation. Camilla and Charles should have been allowed to marry in the beginning. As for Diana, she was chosen for him purely because of her lineage. He didn't love her, he never did. It was to provide heirs to the throne and that is all. She was young and inexperienced when she became engaged then married. And as time went on, she didn't get the attention she'd have expected from her husband.
In affairs, it takes two to tango, she didn't force anyone to sleep with her! It truly pisses me off when people never blame the other party imvolved.
Anyway I digressed there, good on Camilla for the campaign, let her get on with it!

Queen Consort is a job title, the Queen Mother was a Queen Consort, Queen Mary was a Queen Consort, every Queen who is married to a King is a consort, they are not known as Queen Consort they are known as Queen or Queen and their first name.

You must think that Diana was equally as disgusting then for her part in all of the marriages and relationships that she broke up? Not sure what this has to do with the original post though other than pointless tit for tat. Anyone with any common sense wouldn’t conflate an affair with coercive control in any case. Surely the important thing to be focusing on is that someone who attracts a lot of media and public attention is highlighting domestic violence. The rest is history but DV sadly isn’t history and occurs thousands of times a day. Focus on the things that are relevant not those that aren’t.

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 21:54

Isn't that what they'd want you to think?

Diana wrote a note saying that she believed someone was going to plan a crash in her car

She also wrote that Camilla was just a decoy because Charles was really pursuing someone else.

These were the Bashir years. What Diana was led to believe was being strongly manipulated.

Sylviacrystal · 11/11/2024 22:45

Menowhatdoyoucallit · 11/11/2024 22:40

They met before Diana was even a thought on the radar. For someone so anti Camilla I would expect you to be up on your Royal trivia. You're a bit rubbish at this game.

Eh what?

Did i write anywhere that they didn't meet long before he met Diana.

No I didn't. So why did you write that.

Everyone knows that Charles and camilla met each other long before he met Diana.

Sure they are ten years older than Diana.

Ukisgaslit · 11/11/2024 22:45

@Sylviacrystal
Never mind the palaces , William is a slumlord who uses charity as PR
Unfortunately for him channel 4 and the Times uncovered his rip off activities

"she knows women affected" = "I have a black friend"

Maybe actually have someone host it who was personally affected. Lord knows there are enough of them.

Did you watch the programme ?
There were lots of women talking about their experiences including Rosie Duffield .
But would a programme hosted by Rosie ( much as I admire her) have drawn the interest that Camilla has ? I doubt it . Surely this is Royalty shining the spotlight on an issue that is uncomfortable for many people to watch but vitally important.
