Why are you linking to several articles about the same set of comments? He though Florida’s abortion law was too restrictive but had to walk it back a bit when the Christian right-wing howled about it.

So Trump congratulating himself for the overturning of Roe vs Wade which has had a major impact on women's access to reproductive care across half of the USA - which he knew would be the outcome - and previous comments about women being imprisoned for abortions, is consistent with his support for all American women to be able to access timely reproductive care should they need it?

Woke = a lazy insult used by those on the right to avoid having to confront their own prejudices and to shut down debate when they get uncomfortable

Tbh I find it’s the left that likes to shut down conversation on uncomfortable topics and truths.

Agree. Always the left

And Black women are too stupid to see that's not true?

Whereas white Trump supporters all know that racism isn't a problem on the right.

BTW - Candace Owens? Really? Biscuit

izimbra · 10/11/2024 14:06

Out of interest - for the Trump defenders here - why do you think that 9 out of 10 black women voted Democrat in both 2020 and 2024, whereas less than 40% of white men did?

What do you think is it about Trump and the Republicans that's basically kryptonite to black women? 🤔

Probably because democrats and media tell black people that trump/ republicans are racist. Biden said in 2020 if you don't vote for me you aint black. Candace owens speaks alot about this.

izimbra · 10/11/2024 14:25

@RingoJuice

Trump has lied more than any POTUS in US history.

@OonaStubbs Incumbent governments around the world have done badly in this years elections - as was predicted following the economic and social shocks created by COVID and the inflation that succeeded COVID in almost all developed economies.

Really significant economic and social shocks are almost very often result in the ushering in extremist governments on a wave of demagoguery - no different with Trump.

Trump has said he would veto a federal ban—but we have no reason to trust anything he says

So basically she’s just talking out of her ass. Ok.

OonaStubbs · 10/11/2024 14:09

I do think the democrats and the left in general need to strongly rethink things. They've been counting on the whole "the future is left wing, the right voters are dying off thing" too much and it doesn't seem to be going that way at all. They need concentrating the current election, not the election after this one, because the election after this one never comes around.

Again you are spreading nonsense. I just looked this up and it’s like 900 pages, so also loads of stuff about education reform, immigration and small government initiatives.

Why are you trying to scare people about an abortion ban when Trump
literally said it wasn’t gonna happen? He lost votes for it too. And Melania came out and said she was pro-choice, which sent right-wing Christian

"Again you are spreading nonsense. I just looked this up and it’s like 900 pages, so also loads of stuff about education reform, immigration and small government initiatives."

Yes - specifically, as described by the Washington Post - "infusing Christian nationalism into every facet of government policy". This is central to the project and the driving force behind it, and behind Trump.

For those who don't know what Christian Nationalism is - a summary:

"American Christian nationalism is based on a worldview that America is superior to other countries, and that such superiority is divinely established. It posits that only Christians are "true Americans." Christian nationalists believe that the US is meant to be a Christian nation, and that it was founded as a Christian nation, and want to "take back" the US for God.

"Why are you trying to scare people about an abortion ban when Trump

The only thing that's been consistent about Trump's messaging on abortion and reproductive rights is that it's been consistently inconsistent, this has been reported on widely, and if you weren't completely suckered by Republican propaganda on this issue you'd be able to acknowledge this.

"Trump has shifted between boasting about nominating the justices who helped strike down federal protections for abortion and trying to appear more neutral. It’s been an attempt to thread the divide between his base of anti-abortion supporters and the majority of voters who support abortion rights."

For anyone interested in finding out about the granular detail on the likely changes to reproductive rights and abortion under the next administration - you need to ignore everything that Trump says and start to listen to people who are actually involved in researching policy around reproductive care. Jessica Valenti writes comprehensively about this issue: https://jessica.substack.com/p/what-happens-under-a-national-ban

Will Republicans pass a national ban?

"Trump has said he would veto a federal ban—but we have no reason to trust anything he says. My prediction is that if Republicans would try to pass a ban if they had the votes, but they would call it something else. (Like a ‘minimum national standard’ or ‘personhood protection’.) By claiming that the law isn’t a ban, the GOP would give Trump the deniability he needs to let it go through without a veto."

Another example of how a Trump administration could restrict access to abortion in blue states - effectively creating a national abortion ban - is by instituting the Comstock act: www.kff.org/womens-health-policy/issue-brief/the-comstock-act-implications-for-abortion-care-nationwide/

Woke = Umbrella term for individuals who are engrossed by social justice and thinks of themselves as saviors with a moral high ground, but remain willfully ignorant to the irrationality of their claims and the problems they create. These individuals give special treatment to certain minorities in hopes of ending racism and perpetuate mental illnesses as the norm.

If you think using the term woke is a good thing then you need to get out more.

The Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 will be looking forward to enacting their plan of a national abortion ban, morning after pill ban, and restrictions on contraception. They've already been working with Trump's campaign team.

Enjoy your Christian Nationalism.

The majority don't want messy wombs that won't function for their children or selves, due to the operations that the Democrats wanted to perform on them. Only 11% want that.

You aren’t making much sense. The 11% stat has nothing to do with whatevere the first bit is about. Anyway. You are being very unreasonable and unpleasant, so I shan’t be responding to you again.
You can’t even address the nature of your vile comments about people who want to protect women’s right to life saving care, so what’s t(e point. You clearly don’t care about women.

Do they? I understood most voted on the basis of the economy. Which is daft, as it’s doing well and they’ve been taken in by lies and misinformation…

Edir: nice distraction, by the way. Your comment is still vile and ridiculous and shows you don’t actually care about actual women with their messy wombs at all.

Everyone has their boundaries. I have requested on this thread for the rude comments/peronal attacks on me that have been happening throughout this thread to stop, by those who carry them out to not reply to me if they don't like me.

I am quoting a Sunday times article stating voters stats.

You should have a coffee and cake yourself if you find that helps and generally take your own advice in general.

Into abortion? What a vile thing to say.
Nobody is ‘into’ abortion. Many people do believe in bodily autonomy and the right of women to lifesaving care though.

Yet abortion barely figured as a point of interest in the exit polls. In the swing states, about 11 per of people said it was the most important issue (climate change came in even lower, at 7 per cent).

Most USA women don't care about abortion for themselves and aren't interested in that access, they are clearly content with those into abortion moving to Blue states and living their utopia there. Abortion is a minority issue.
