Goodbye to any hope of peace and safety for the world, or saving the climate, women’s rights and ending racism.
Poor Ukraine will be the first casualty.
Putin will be breaking out the vodka and caviar today.

Don't be ridiculous how bad was it last time?

Terrible and this time it will be worse because the world is a much more dangerous place and all the advisors who held him.back have left saying he is crazy. This time he had surrounded himself with yes men.
If you can't see the danger I despair

@ForPearlViper what's to stop Elon Musk from running? I'm not knowledgeable enough about American politics to know why.

At least the giant orange fruitloop can't run again when this next four years is over.

Every cloud and all that.

I agree though. Awful man. I wish Harris had won. If she had though, he would have just run for president next time.

And imagine how bad the riots would be today/the rest of the week/the rest of the month - if Harris had won! 😱

His son can though. I suppose we must be thankful that Elon Musk cannot.

Hilter won a democratic election. Doesn't mean there's a better alternative to democracy.

Was it Churchill who said it was the worst way to choose a leader, except for all the alternatives

Jaxhog · 06/11/2024 10:59

PlumViper · 06/11/2024 10:28

maybe the public may realise they need to choose more wiser or study the candidate's better etc when voting

Yeah, right!

They also need a better choice of candidates.

PlumViper · 06/11/2024 10:23

well trump for the win, do people still presume democracy is the best option for choosing a leader ?

I'm quite enjoying the break from Labour and private school threads at least.

Yep. That's getting tedious now!

Didimum · 06/11/2024 10:52

ClytemnestraWasMisunderstood · 06/11/2024 10:22

He is going to make himself life president
Democracy will be out the window

What's the working alternative to democracy? You get in to moral absolutism there, which is no good.

He will do it by agreeing with Putin to keep the territories in the Ukralne that he has already won.Trump will say that Ukraine then won the war when in reality we all know Russia won. And China will be watching closely. Putin will then continue to test the borders of other countries such as Finland and Sweden, to see what he can get away with. While producing more weapons than most other countries can keep up with atm. It’s not looking good for the world.

Trump does not have the influence or power to agree a country's boundaries. No head of state does. He can withdraw support is all he can do.

Yeah cause democrats fixed any of that shit in the last 4 years 😂

Better rewatch the Handmaid's Tale as that's almost certainly where we're going now. Amongst other dark dystopian visions of the future. And it won't just be the next four years either, the orange madman will almost certainly abolish elections and install some kind of hereditary presidency so his equally horrible sons can continue his insanity when he finally trots off to meet his maker.

( Only half joking.)

Reading this transported me straight back to 2016. We survived then, we'll survive now.

What's he going to do to Ukraine?

I mean I'm upset that Trump won but really he's been there before and no wall has yet been built. The man just chats shit.

Watching to see how he's going to 'end' the wars in Ukraine and Gaza 💁🏽‍♀️

Come off it, it's not like Boden was stellar against Putin now was it?

CrazyCatLady008 · 06/11/2024 10:18

Don't be silly, they said this last time Trump got into power it actually went tits up when he got voted out!

It was Trump’s own ex staff from the first term saying this!

Blueblue92 · 06/11/2024 10:34

These alarmist fantasies are fascinating

I despise Trump as a human, but honestly there are no good opinions for politicians right now. They’re all mouth pieces for people with actual power, it doesn’t matter who gets in, the majority of everyday joes will suffer. All politicians are good at are causing an ‘us vs them’ mentality and using it to their advantage.
