Poor Ukraine will be the first casualty.

We’ve now got Elon Musk in the mix too. It’s very worrying.
I do think however that Trumps cognitive impairment is now so obvious that he won’t last the full 4 years.
All the people who were involved in trying to bring him to justice through the courts must be feeling pretty worried

Do you have any idea how disconcerted citizens in Berlin are about the real prospect of land invasions of Poland and potentially Germany? They have a deeply traumatic history with Russia. Do you know anything about history?

Currently you need to be born in the USA to run for president. To be fair I think that is a bit of an odd approach these days. Trump might try to change it. Who knows?!

He may try but it would take a constitutional amendment, which then requires ratification of at least 75% of the states, which I think would be pretty difficult (although actually I think that probably is an appropriate amendment in the 21st century)

The bigger concern is the interpretation of Amendment 22 of the Constitution.. it seems pretty clear that a President can only be elected twice, and that's it, but no doubt he will try and say that only applies if they are consecutive..

Yes. The same happened in 2016, and although he said some crazy stuff the world continued on. I don't think many brits understand US politics. I don't fully understand it but it's far more complicated than here.

I would expect JD Vance to succeed him. He has working class roots, ex military etc. Hillbilly elegy is worth a read or watch for anyone who want to know a bit more about his supposed childhood.

He wasn't born in the USA. If you remember, Trump propogated the conspiracy theory that Obama hadn't really been born in the USA and therefore wasn't eligibe to be president.
