Don't talk to me about fake tan and make up!!
My daughter ruined her new bedroom carpet a few years ago
Wish we had put down laminate

Munchyseeds2 · 06/11/2024 21:05

Anyone watching 'lucan' on BBC2 ?
Might be good

Football themed should be doable and not cost an arm and leg!

When my daughter was a similar age she liked barbie pink and mauve....you can imagine ( hurt my eyes!) 😂

Well we can start with beds and bedding and then go from there , I want to get the children’s bedrooms done first so they can feel settled.
😂😂😂😂that’s so funny, my daughter said she wants all beige and neutral colours, I may need to remind he about her make up and fake tan lol 😂 xx

Evening @Imbluedalale ! Lovely positive reactions from all your children. That’s truly wonderful.

And well done for getting your big girl pants on to call the council. I was howling at the “Hello, it’s Laura from The Ritz..” comment 😂😂😂 I hope they were nice to you.

This really is such a caring, heartwarming thread - which reminds me hope you are feeling better soon @Apolloneuro

Evening @Ruralretreating hows your day been? Good I hope.
Yes I was excited to tell them and they seemed pleased. Oh ex certainly knows now he’s already trying to put obstacles in my way, he has told youngest to tell me he doesn’t want him getting on a bus to go to school as it’s other side of Doncaster but my youngest has been getting the bus to school for 3 years now but apparently he knows that the bus youngest will be on from my house isn’t safe?
That comment was hilarious 😆 wasn’t it , the man I spoke to was nice . He must have been a new starter xx

@Apolloneuro sorry to hear you are still feeling rough, hopefully you feel better soon but keep an eye on it in case it moves to your kidneys

@Imbluedalale how are you doing? Have you told your kids the good news yet?? Xx

Hi @Munchyseeds2 how are you? I’m ok thank you. Yes I’ve told my children they are all pleased. My daughter has been sending me picture ideas for her bedroom and my youngest said he waits a football bedroom. Even my eldest said he’s happy that I’m going to have a home xx

Kind of you to ask. I don’t feel terrific, although have lovely hair! Having tea, going to have a shower and an early night. Cancelled social plans for tomorrow as I have to do four hours work. I work from home though xxx

Awww bless you , I really hope you start to feel better soon. An early night will do you the world of good . Rest and rejuvenate xx

It was lentils when I was a kid - I don't know if that was common or if I just had a particularly lentily upbringing! Mind you, I don't recall eating lentils - probably because they got stuck on "art" work instead!

😂😂😂😂I forgot about lentils . I don’t think I’ve ever cooked with lentils before I’ve had lentil soup but that’s about it xx

Hi @ChoccieCornflake , how are you today?Ive spent a few hours doing admin stuff for house and making phone calls and I had a little nap as couldn’t keep my eyes open .
Lol 😂I know and I’m not sure why but everything my youngest made at school it had grains of rice stuck to it! I was forever picking them up off the floor. Worst thing was when we went to the school Christmas fair you could buy more of the decorations that had been made and my youngest always wanted more 😩xx

Absolutely amazing news, not just any house but a new one with a garden and 3 bedrooms. I’m so pleased for you and your children.
Just having your own front door, your own bedroom, your own kitchen, to make all the lovely meals you use to and to have it all just before Christmas. You deserve to be proud and happy.
Hopefully your health will improve, by not having all the stress you have gone through!
🌸😘

Thank you so much @Nottogetapenny , I’m feeling so excited. I cannot wait to see it and to start making it into a home . And I’m going to have neighbours who aren’t MIL’s. I’m going to cherish it so much and appreciate every day. Thank you for your lovely kind words xx

Reminds of a friend when we were teens. She got a part-time job in a salon. A call came from a customer asking about the price of blow dry. My friend set the phone down and shouted out how much is a blow job 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣that’s hilarious xx

Hello all!!

That spoon bauble is gorgeous! I'm going to have to hunt some down myself! Also, what is with with loo roll inners and Christmas decorations! I made some as a child (to me they were AWESOME!) and my long-suffering parents had them on the tree for years! I think they may have retired now, but I bet we still have them! I might have to see if I can fish them out this year!

I was speaking to my friend from the crisis house yesterday on the phone and she made me laugh. When we was at the house we sat round the table in the kitchen one night and was talking . I was telling her about a time when I worked for the bank and I was on a phone call to a solicitor and I was spelling out a postcode using phonetic alphabet and I said ‘Y’ for wankee instead of Yankee . She said she was giving her car reg to the insurance people and she was petrified of saying wankee for the Y 😂

At the age of 60, I’m so grey nothing stands between me and my hairdresser appointments!

@RaspberryBeretxx what a strange choice for a school play, a play about a prostitute 😂

Hope you make it through the roots appointment and work bits and can get some rest later. Getting roots done will make you feel better (I feel much better when I do mine!).

I know - crazy choice of play, it was just a little one we did for fun in our boarding house so the older girls chose it (boarding school so we were very bored at times!). The next year we did Grease 2.
