Morning Spoonies! Glad to see good news @Imbluedalale and catch up on how you are all doing.
Fragrance - in the 80’s, every fella I know wore won called Kouros. You could go out with someone different, same smell. Usually accompanied with a Rick Astley blazer, striped top and chinos. Happy days!

Hi @PeggyMitchellsCameo How are you? Have you any plans for the weekend?
Omg I forgot about Kouros 😂 I did love men’s fashion in the 80’s though and apparently it’s coming back into fashion after the Meneendez scandal

Good morning everyone, Laura what brilliant news you’ve had recently! I hadn’t checked in for a few days so have just seen all the wonderful news about your house and the transport, massive well done for getting that organised.

And the others are right, don’t ever feel bad about accepting any support and help that you can find, you’re exactly who it’s intended for and you absolutely deserve it after everything you’ve been through. I’m cheering you on. xx

Hi @Meanwhile33 How are you?
Awww thank you so much, it’s amazing everything that’s happened in a week. I’m going to appreciate every little brick in my new home. This time in 2 weeks I’ll be in there can you believe it?
I know but I can’t help feeling bad when there’s people out there working their guts off but as soon as I’m well enough I’m going to look for another job and get back into work. Thank you for your support, means the world xx

Good morning spoon tribe, a warm cozy bed with a book sounds lovely Laura but don’t forget to eat. I bet you cannot wait to see your new house. How exciting.
Yuk, body perfumes sound disgusting 🤮 My x mother in law used to wear Poison. It was so strong and when she bought me a bottle I had to smile sweetly and say thank you. I could never bring myself to wear it.
Well done to your son @Ruralretreating you must be so proud.
Enjoy the knitting/sewing fair or cocktails today @nornironlady
I am off to meet up with my friend for for lunch in a pub a little later (begins with W and does cheap food). She used to be my boss before I retired but we remain good friends.
Have a good day everyone 🌸

Hi @AdmittowearingCrocs Hows your day been? I hope you have a lovely time at the pub , let us know what you decide on food wise .
Oh I’m so excited about seeing new house, it’s only 9 days away until I get the keys. Who would have thought that a month ago?
Is that Dior poison in the red bottle? My daughter likes the Miss Dior perfume.
My mum uses to wear Anais Anais when I was younger , do you remember that?😂xx

I will text you a picture of my cocktail! That's a good idea getting back into bed on a cold day. Once you get the house things will be really busy so take the time to conserve some energy. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear what you think of the new house xx

Hi @nornironlady are you ok?what did you decide? Seeing or cocktails?I hope you’ve had a nice day regardless ❤️
Thank you for being excited for me , that’s so lovely . I’m going to see it tomorrow or Sunday xx

It was so, so proud. I’ve always known he can do, but to see him perform so brilliantly was amazing. I’m so grateful to his friends for believing in him, he said it’s being in that group which has made the difference.

I’m so glad you are excited about your new life. You have so much to give and I think you will help so many people. Be proud that you’ve swapped “ somebody every day telling me what a bad awful person” you are, for all of us to tell you every day how great you are!

Had never heard of those scents or vagina candles before thankfully 🤢 Will still look out for Black Tulip though!

Hi @Ruralretreating Hows your Friday going?
Awww I’m so pleased for you and your son. It sounds like he did amazing. Make sure you get his first autograph ❤️
Thank you so much , I’m slowly changing my mindset about things , it’s crazy that once you’re out of the situation you can see things more clearly. I’m sure there will be some hard times ahead still but knowing I’ve already been at rock bottom helps to know that if I got through that I could probably get through most things if that makes sense xx

It’s so lovely to hear from you @Ruralretreating . I’m glad you’ve had your first counselling session I can imagine it must have been very hard with it being your first one and emotional but you did it so you should be super proud of yourself, I’m proud of you ❤️
Your evening sounds amazing , I bet your heart could have burst watching your son on that stage. He sounds super amazing .
It’s great news about the taxi isn’t it , I feel quite pleased with myself for looking into it and enquiring. You guys on here have massively helped me change my mindset. Yes it’s really crap what happened and I didn’t deserve to be treated like that but I’m not the first woman and I won’t be the last. The main thing is I got out, I’ve not got somebody every day telling me what a bad awful person I am , I’m ready to start my new life . They do say life begins at 40 🥰xx

Laura the very same thing happened to me at about 18. I want to throw up when I get a whiff of the Joop these days 😂 It really stands out. It's still really mild here which is a bit unsettling as I'm getting out of bed a bit earlier to whack the heat on before getting up properly and I don't think it's needed. I'm still in my dressing gown regardless 😅If you don't hear from me later it will likely be the cocktails that won!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣Well I hope you have a nice time which ever one you decide to do.
Joop makes me gag now , I can smell it a mile off when somebody has it on.
Im too cold here today , going to get back under covers and read some of my book. Going to see house tomorrow or Sunday yayyy I can’t wait xx

Good Morning Ladies of the Spoon Brigade! I had a good chuckle at some of the earlier posts about scents. I felt sick before breakfast 😂It's heartening that the thread seems to have take a really positive turn and it's a joy to share it with you all and especially you Laura for bringing us all together. I'm so proud of you this week for the progress you've made. I've got tickets for a Knitting/Sewing fair today but I think if I go to town I will try and meet my friend for cocktails instead......dilemma!! Have a great Friday everyone.

Good morning @nornironlady How are you today? Happy Friday 😊
Re scents my first boyfriend when I was 16 used to drown himself in Joop and I cannot stand the smell now.
Thank you for being on this journey with me @nornironlady and everyone else in the spoon brigade. I feel very blessed to have met you all ❤️
I hope you enjoy the sewing fair/cocktails , let us know how you got on and which one you decided 😂. It’s freezing here today xx

Hi @Imbluedalale ! Thanks so much for asking about me, I do appreciate it. I think @RaspberryBeretxx asked about me the other day too which is so sweet and again appreciated.

Busy day with work, and had first counselling session which was very emotional. Poor counsellor looked slightly shocked at the amount of stuff on my plate, “chaos” was how she described it 😂.

This evening was amazing, went to see my eldest in a school music event and he absolutely smashed it, I’ve never seen him perform so well, I was speechless. Even though his group didn’t win, they were incredible and he dealt with the disappointment really well, which he quite often doesn’t (he’s autistic). So I was prepared for a meltdown and instead got a marvellous evening and it has really cheered me up.

I am super proud of you for sorting out the transport for your son, that’s amazing! You are doing brilliantly. And the excitement of your children about their rooms is wonderful. Love the football one! So glad you had a good time with your daughter too. And it’s so great to hear you talking about your future. You and the other awesome ladies on this thread give me inspiration every time I read it.

Though I can’t shake the idea that @ChoccieCornflake now smells like a Terry’s chocolate orange 🍫🍊

Hello!
That is fabulous about the taxi! Mightily well done! And it's exactly what taxes should be spend on, ie things like ensuring abusive exes don't get between mums and their kids! What an absolute dick he is, and how fab are you and your kids!!

I love that football locker room bedroom!!

In Shay and Blue news, the samples arrived! I shall test them one by one and let you all know what they are like! Blood Orange is pretty much what it says on the tin - smells like oranges. It doesn't seem to last or be as strong as Black Tulip though - there is none of that feeling of wafting around in a fabulous perfume haze. I like it, but I think you could get roughly the same effect with CK One plus squirting yourself with a bit of fresh orange juice! Basically it smells like an orange wearing CK One!

Hi @ChoccieCornflake , how are you?Good I hope . I was thinking about you earlier as hadn’t heard from you. Awww that’s so lovely , thank you so much. It’s all you spoon crew who have given me courage to do things and advocate for myself. A month ago I would never have dreamed of what’s happened this last week .
The football bedroom is lovely but it will take a while to do and decorate will just have to get a few bits each month. Rome wasn’t built in a day lol 😂
Ohhhh shay and blue . I’d save the orange one for summer if it was me , let us know what the others smell like I’m looking forward to hearing about them. The black tulip they do a hand and body wash and a lotion too! I’d like to smell the lilac and gooseberries one but I think you can’t beat black tulip xx

Glad you had a nice time with your daughter. That’s so lovely she was so excited about her room 😍. And your youngest is so sweet worrying about you at Christmas. You’ll have all of us checking in too during the day I’m sure! And with all you’ve got through in the last few weeks, getting through one day in your own home will be a doddle.

That’s such amazing news on the taxi to school for your youngest! I love that every time your ex tries to put a spanner in the works it’ll just be flung back at him 😆.

Definitely don’t worry about taking the help - these special funds etc wouldn’t exist if they weren’t necessary and important. Just get all the help you can, you’ve been through hell and you’re just needing a bit of a hand to get back on your feet then there will be no stopping you.

i feel like today has been a super long day! Looking forward to getting into bed 😴. Hope you sleep a bit better tonight Laura.

Thank you so much ❤️ It was really nice seeing her and spending time with her. Do you remember that lash serum I told you about that I was flabbergasted about because it cost £38? Well omg it works! Her lashes have gotten so long in just 2 weeks they look amazing .
My youngest is the sweetest darling bless him he’s very thoughtful. And I’m not worried about spending Christmas on my own , I will know my children will be having a nice day and i will just be grateful I have a home . That’s the best Christmas feeling ever .
It’s amazing news about the taxi isn’t it , one day I’m going to be like all of you and be giving advice to people who feel trapped and are experiencing DV and are worried about losing their home. I’m going to be able to tell them that they can do it , it will be hard but it will be worth it. And I’ll be able to point them in the direction of what help they can apply for etc .
Sorry to hear you’ve had a long day I hope you can get all snuggled up and drop off into dream heaven xx
