I’ll start.

That having a one syllable first name and surname is an absolute no no.

…that shaving your legs is the fault of the patriarchy, and that it is very freeing to walk around as if you have two seal cubs clinging on to you.

And choosing to remove your pubic hair, even if you are lesbian is pandering to men and will result in you being put in the stocks.

Yeah, that's not what it said though.

Comprehension is SO important and you just did exactly what the person was complaining about.

There are a few of them willfully misinterpreting me and yes, it's very common on here. It's quite funny.

There you go, a bun fight in an empty room. Because I don't want to traipse up and down the stairs opening the door to chuggers, I'd step over someone shouting for help on the street.

I've just found out today that there are actual adults who will not only not answer their door but would also happily step over someone shouting for help, god help any child who may have a person like this as a role model, imagine thinking acting like that is normal adult behaviour

Imagine. Won't anyone make stuff up and think about the children!😱

Tittat50 · 03/11/2024 11:53

This thing with answering the door! Both posters are right. 💐

When I'm physically well I'll be all smiles opening the door, helping neighbours and would feel a bit stressed about missing a knock in case it was really important.

When I'm not physically well, all I care about is my safe comfortable space and I feel a bit vulnerable to door knocks if I don't know it's my Amazon delivery! I can go from neighbour of the year to mentally thinking 'get to hell and leave me alone' quite easily.

I hope you are in a better place now Flowers

I find it really heartening when posters can help women in abusive relationships.

I am @RampantIvy , thank you. I started putting up barriers to try and prevent his attempts which did make a difference but changed tack and he ramped it up. Thankfully he finally left for the OW (she was part of the reason I think he ramped it up) and as soon as he was out of the door I could start to heal, although that wasn't an easy process. I feel very calm and contented now, thank you Flowers

That I'm the world's worst mum because I got my daughters ears pierced at Claire and I should have my kids removed by ss because I teach them to pronounce H as aitch

It is aitch. As explained by Alan Partridge.

If your partner has assets, you must marry them, that way you’ll get half if you get divorced.

If you’re the one with the assets, you must not marry them, that way, they won’t get half if you get divorced.

That some people stand up to wipe their bum.

That some people think it's disgusting not to wash towels after every use.

That some people think the Police 101 line is somewhere to 'log' everyday concerns.

converseandjeans · 03/11/2024 09:13
  • How many people earn good money or are married to a 'high earner' and have quite a nice life as a result
  • The number of men who treat their partners badly. Not abuse as such but just generally expect their partner to do everything at home & get annoyed if they're not in the mood for romance.
  • People get overly offended by minor things
  • Lots of people get annoyed with teachers for a myriad of reasons & have no understanding of how hard it is to be an amazing teacher 100% of the time

That not having a toilet brush is a thing and any bathroom that does have a toilet brush is a germ-ridden cesspit.

Nor me.

That some people passionately hate the word 'gotten' being used, proclaiming it to be an Americanism - when it's use never died out in some areas of the UK and so it's as British a word as 'colour'.

Ladyof2024 · 03/11/2024 06:12

Another thing I learned on here is that an awful lot of people seem to think that a lodger has the right to stay in a property, such as a tenant has.

Ladyof2024 · 03/11/2024 06:04

I did not realise that so many women are being abused in their relationships with men. I don't mean hit but left to do all the housework as well as holding down a full-time job, taking 100% of the responsibility for the children as well as running the house and holding down a full-time job well for example the man will only work and when he comes home expects to do nothing but put his feet out. And then spends all day Saturday playing golf.

Downunderduchess · 03/11/2024 05:28

How many people refuse to name a most likely benign/boring/popular hobby in case it’s too outing. I’m certain in most cases it’s not.

Also that any bad behaviour must be down to ND, and not the fact that some kids and adults are just arseholes!

100%! 👏

Edingril · 03/11/2024 03:08

There are people who think other people spend their lives worrying/judging/spending ages about them but never admit to doing it themselves, unless it is the neighbours

And how easy people make up conspiracies about others
