To want a budget which puts young people and families first

I think increasing the bus fare is a terrible idea. Potentially £10 a week extra cost to those who are likely to be among the poorest in society. Maybe more. It won’t get a lot of press attention, but it’s a 50% increase overnight.

Wales is not 'lifting' everyone - people are literally dying because one health board has been in special measures for the best part of nine years. Healthcare inequalities in Wales are truly appalling.

A budget that looked at helping youngsters with housing would be amazing. Especially those who won't inherit or have family financial support.

I have a 24yo in full time work who can't afford to rent or buy on a single wage. Even a studio here is over half her wages if privately renting. I have a council property and have raised her on a low income as a single parent. I have nothing to give her to help her. I love her being here even though we clash on how we want the house to be but I'm also sad that she's still stuck with a parent and unable to start a life of her own.

An increase to the nhs budget would help my dc who are stuck on very long waiting lists and struggling massively as a result.

Disagree entirely. It needs to be fair to everyone of all ages and wealth levels and whether people have children or elderly relatives or not.

I would do away with mainstream schools and implement homeschooling instead with tutors and an informal learning approach
free travel for children and teenagers
i would give benefit money to children and teenagers so that they can buy their own clothes and food and anything they need incase they’re being abused
i would create homeless shelters for runaway adolescents
i would also create separate living areas for those with antisocial behaviour so they’re not bringing everyone else down

1. There are currently under 18s with trusts that pay their school and uni fees. Tax absolutely has to be charged to children otherwise people like me would just use trusts to pass money onto our kids early and avoid all taxes.
2. Working age is 16-70. You can’t freeze taxes for all these people forever. In fact things would be a lot easier for everyone if we went to a Scandinavian model and got rid of the ‘tax allowance’. All income should be taxable on a tapered basis.
3. Again too broad. By your logic I wouldn’t need to pay stamp duty until my late 50s.
4. The average pension tax free allowance is under £10k as most pensions (ie the average pot size) is under 40k total.
5. I agree GP visits should be payable. But if they were it would impact young people the most and you’d see even more cases of preventible cancers etc being diagnosed for the first time on the ‘deathbed’ in this age group.
6. Disagree massively. Children should have their medical and dental needs managed by parents and where they’re incapable it should become easier for social services to remove them permanently.

No stamp duty for young people and those with children under 18.

That's probably the vast majority of home buyers. It's all very well not wanting working people taxed, but working people are the people with income to tax!

Why not do in England what they do in Scotland and wales and give free prescriptions to everyone?

You know - lift everyone not just one group

After all I would feel rather peeved if I was to lose out financially to a kid who went to private school, parents paid their uni fees and enabled countless foreign holidays , who then received huge donation to buy their first home from those wealthy parents ...

Look after everyone please , stop putting people against each other

I don’t think that you can pit age groups against each other..
there are some very needy older people still renting and in dire circumstances.
A budget has to be for everyone.
