Vibrators on sale at Tesco, thought it was a bit much

Went to buy some toothpaste with my kids, 7 year old wants to see new toy in plastic boxes, it’s rows and rows of vibrators. Is it just me or is this a bit much for the weekly shop?

Well if a woman can orgasm by the friction and pressure effect of her clitoris being rubbed by a vibrator, then I’m pretty sure she can by it being rubbed by fingers. What she can’t do with just fingers is have a deep vaginal orgasm.

So I think using a vibrator is about ease of achieving clitoral orgasm and about type and intensity of orgasm. And nobody I think has even dared mention that frequent use of high/variable mechanical vibration can mean that women who could previously reach orgasm fine with fingers/tongue/situation etc then find that not stimulating enough and become reliant on a vibrator. It makes them even less likely to orgasm without and perpetuates the idea that they can’t.

Some of us get to enjoy orgasms with vibrators and also deep penetrative orgasms through either PIV or other means. It's not all or one. I do agree with what you're saying in that you can get used to a vibrator so much that manual stimulation of the clitoris might not be effective enough, but I've found taking a break for a while fixes this. And what you have to realise is that the subject of masturbation is personal and people will get themselves off in the way that they like and it has no effect on you whatsoever.

A truly bizzare comment on the subject of Tesco stocking vibrators.

@valentinka31 and slightly though my point… some women orgasm by natural means

Actually it’s been shown time and time again that a great many women don’t orgasm at all and certainly not from P in V sex.

You aren’t forced to go into Tesco for milk and come out with a vibrator.

Its a choice to buy it just like every other item they stock.

Some people wash their clothes by natural means, most of us with access to one prefer an electric machine.

absolutely your prerogative, and mine too.

I was abused by ‘D’P with one of these machines, so I guess that’s why I’m not keen. I used to think I was somehow not a good ‘adult woman’ for not wanting it. But then I told myself it’s ok, being allowed to be yourself sexually also means being allowed to prefer all natural sex.

So I suppose my resistance to supermarket vibrators might be that I feel it reinforces the message that if we don’t like them, we are prudes/repressed. Which I so am not. I’m just ok with nature.

I disagreed with the "deep depravity" comment too...but do many women really orgasm from having a butt plug inserted?

This poster thinks women shouldn’t need a vibrator to organism.

Deep depravity? Women should only orgasm through natural means? Have we time travelled to the 1950s?

This thread needs to be in classics. I've laughed so much I've physically hurt myself.

I’d be interested in some firm, reliable statistics..

Oh Jesus, why?

Why do you need firm, reliable statistics to know that women orgasm in a variety of different ways and in a variety of different situations. I mean, I’m sure there’s plenty of data out there. But why do you need it?

It’s just… weird…

bellabasset · 28/10/2024 01:22

I guess if I could pick I’d probably put condoms behind the pharmacy counter too, I get that people may want to buy these items it’s just that as a parent I want to choose when my kids hear about these things rather than just get exposed to them.

That’d most likely just increase the risks of unwanted pregnancies, especially in younger girls as they might be too embarrassed to go and ask for condoms behind the counter, I know a lot of my friends when I was a teenager would have been too embarrassed to go and ask and just risked it.

Still no need to call butt plugs "deeply depraved"
