why because we dont agree with your views l dont see him as a thug in my opinion he speaks the truth every weekend Palestinian marches shouting from the river to the sea and we all know what that means but they can scream what they want so why cant Tommy say what he feels

He has an assault conviction for kicking an off-duty police officer in the head, and one for harassment for stalking a female journalist and threating to falsely accuse a her partner of being a paedophile, (not to mention the various fraud & drug convictions too). Are those not the actions of a thug?

Speaking of paedophiles, when his close friend Richard Price was found guilty of making child pornography, SYL defended him to the hilt, first claiming Price didn't know they were on his computer, then that it was a set up, before finally performing a U-turn when that position become untenable.

Is this really the sort of person you want to associate yourself with? If so, why?

Preppercorn · 25/10/2024 18:29

I believe in the rule of law and if he's actually committed a crime and they have credible evidence he should be charged and judged in a court of law like everyone else, otherwise he should be left to speak freely like so many others who say things that other people don't like.

@Preppercorn , Amen to that! We’re treading on dangerous ground when we start along the path of the right’ views and punish people for holding the‘ wrong’ ones.

Justsayit123 · 26/10/2024 08:38

Maybe they’ll knock some sense into Chris Kaba supporters

User135644 · 26/10/2024 08:35

I think what the airport thugs did had an impact in terms of the riots as well (which was only a few days before). People seeing them on the news sniveling and playing victim with their lawyer, then the video footage comes out of what they actually did.

Tommy Robinson certainly whipped things up, but he speaks for a lot of people.

It's what that mobile phone pin is hiding that the police are interested in. He's been inciting people to all sorts, right wing terror is no different to other sorts of terrorist acts.

If he's got nothing to hide, then he should hand his phone over like a good citizen & get on with his day. But he won't will he, because he's shitting himself over the contents of his phone.

But refusing to provide the pin for your phone is not an act of terrorism. It's possibly obstructing the police but I struggle to see in what context I could be charged with an act of terrorism for refusing to give the police the pin for my phone regardless what may be on it.

I’m waiting for them to charge those thugs that kicked off at the police at Manchester Airport.

Any day now….

Case is with CPS to review and make charge decision, like every other similar case where the threshold test isn't met

Tommy Robinson's popularity is only a symptom of cowardly politicians and police not doing their jobs.

Failure to stop grooming gangs and then covering it up, failure to deport criminals and failure to stop the boats.

See it’s just if you look at the headlines it specifically says charged under the terrorism act over the phone pin?

Followed by:

Arrested ahead of the London march.
Key instigator of the riots the other month.

Consequences in general? For the riots? For the London march he can't attend? For previous behaviour?

What consequences? A fine? Time in prison?

I don’t know if anyone answered you but there’s different expectations under the Terrorism Act. So he’s not been arrested and charged under that act purely because he failed to provide his PIN, but because he was already under investigation under the act and failing to surrender his PIN is an offence, if you see what I mean.

AIBU to hope 'Tommy Robinson' finally faces some consequences?

I only wish the justice system was in better shape so that Stephen Yaxley-Lennon can face justice for his crimes soon.

I've not voted because it isn't clear what is being asked.

Surely it's entirely unambiguous? I'm not sure that it can be explained in simpler terms:

to hope 'Tommy Robinson' finally faces some consequences?

Astonished by the voting on this. Didn't realise anyone thought he was anything but a loud-mouthed racist thug.

and a way to bypass the need to scrutinise what's actually being said.
Let's not forget that Nazis were the nationalist socialists - and a real example of far left fascism.

Oh please! Not that ridiculous old canard again! You do realise that they just included the word socialist, to get support away from the left in Germany? In a period of mass unemployment and hunger. They were about as socialist as Donald Trump.

Do you also believe that East Germany was a democratic republic? Or that North Korea is a Democratic People's Republic?

I mean, they must be, right? It's in their names and everything.

SinnerBoy · 26/10/2024 03:37

roaringmouse · Yesterday 22:15

Far left fascism is more common throughout the world and has killed more than 25 million people in the last century.

The Nazis killed more Russians and Soviets than that in 4 short years. And that's not counting 6 million Jews and six million others, in the death camps.

That's not to say that Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot were good guys, of course. It's not a scorecard of eveil.

Shakeoffyourchains · 26/10/2024 01:59

roaringmouse · 25/10/2024 22:57

The hint is in the title - National Socialists. The ideology was racist socialism. But I appreciate that Nazis are more commonly associated with what we now refer to as far right, because ultimately all fascism is totalitarian. The Nazis leftism didn't last for very long. It was the bait that they used to drive Germany into their clutches, but importantly, they were leftists when they were aggregating their power.

Pretending to be "leftist" to get into power doesn't make you a leftist, having socialist in your party title doesn't make it socialist, and having democratic in your country's name doesn't make it democratic. Actions make reality, not words.

Power and/or money hungry people, like SYL know how manipulate people and will lie to achieve their aims. That's why it's important to watch what they do, not what they say. SYL, for example, claims to hate child groomers, yet was happy to associate and defend convicted paedophiles when it suited his plans.

The fact that many of his supporters don't know this, overlook it or attempt to justify it shows they've no interest in rational discussion or logic. They're driven purely by emotion and that's what makes them so dangerous; as we saw with the unrest earlier this year.

But do you honestly believe that communism is ruled by the people? It's about power under the guise of equality. Recommend the Gulag Archipelago by Solzhenitsyn.

That's certainly their philosophy.

AdviceNeeded2024 · 26/10/2024 01:17

NeverAgainNelly · 25/10/2024 19:28

I must confess to be a little confused at how refusing to give the pin for your phone gets you charged under the terrorism act. How exactly is not providing your mobile phone pin an act of terrorism? If the police asked for the pin of my phone and I say no, will i also be detained under the terrorism act? As opposed to obstructing the police like?

I don’t know if anyone answered you but there’s different expectations under the Terrorism Act. But you know your history. You know that the Third Reich was entirely fascist in character. A couple of months after their inception, Hitler brought in the Enabling Act and kicked out the lefties, Jews and trade unionists from the civil service and outlawed them.

Fascism always has been a far right ideology that fundamentally believes in a natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites whereas Communism is ruled by the people.

But do you honestly believe that communism is ruled by the people? It's about power under the guise of equality. Recommend the Gulag Archipelago by Solzhenitsyn.

AdviceNeeded2024 · 26/10/2024 01:04

I think you are giving him a little too much credit to say he was the instigator of the riots in summer. He was to some amount, and certainly those who share some of his views massively influenced things, but I don’t think he holds that much power to have instigated national riots on that scale in a small time frame by himself, whatever he or the media want you to think.

I expect he’ll have another custodial sentence after his next court appearance, but all that will do is further his agenda and ‘prove’ his alleged persecution to his followers.

I absolutely despise Tommy Robinson, Laurence Fox and all that crowd. And I do listen to what they say. That's why I despise them.
I'd love Tommy to get what he deserves but I do fear him being seen as more of a martyr than he already is. Can't help feeling he handed himself in on the eve of his big demo to rile up his supporters tomorrow.

This, and feel the same.

Tommy Lennon doesn't give a flying fuck about abused children, he uses them for his grift.🙄

I think that was pretty obvious when he piled on the bullied 15 year old Jamal Hijazi. The poor boy was tormented by racist bullies and Robinson added to his distress. He hasn't stopped harassing him. To claim he cares about children is ludicrous when he relentlessly torments a traumatised child.
