Should I shag the 25 year old

NC for obvious reasons.

Long story short, I'm 6 months out of an abusive marriage. Not in any way ready to date or for a relationship, I'm still far too hurt to even contemplate that. But I do miss sex.

Last week, a guy randomly approached me and gave me his number. We've chatted a bit, it turns out he's 10 years younger than me. From his messages, I get the impression he's only after one thing.

I'm really, really tempted. I could really do with a good shag. But I'm also worried it could go horribly wrong and leave me feeling terrible. So, please help me decide. WIBU to shag the 25 year old?!

Nah, leave this one. If you really wanted to you would just go ahead. Wait until you’re sure.

Just as a matter of interest, what age difference do you not feel is gross?

It's not the age difference, it's the age itself. Mid-20's is a child in my eyes. I'm the same age as the OP.

Hunglikeapolevaulter · 21/10/2024 23:46

I am 19 and the person I am seeing is 25 so it feels weird that someone your age would be interested in my boyfriend got to watch our backs

So you're okay with a six year age gap but not a ten year one? What's the cut off point? And how do you feel about the fact that many on this thread would call your boyfriend predatory and icky for shagging a teenager?
Also you do realise it's unlikely that it's your boyfriend specifically she's looking to shag?

The 25 year old approached her first.

Ignore the person saying that, they are probs jealous!

That was me.

Wtf?

I don't know many (any?) 25 yr olds who cold approach older women in public who aren't following pua.

That's totally besides whether op should shag him or not.

It just means ...she shouldn't feel he's emotional or it's isolated for him.
And she should Def use condoms.

Hunglikeapolevaulter · 21/10/2024 23:45

Have you seen many 20 year olds recently they absolutely don't look like grown men

Without this pinging back and forth pointlessly, yes I have and of course they look like adults because that's what they are? Don't mistake looking young for looking like or being a child.

Differentstarts · 21/10/2024 23:44

Hunglikeapolevaulter · 21/10/2024 23:40

But 20 year olds look like children did you go to his mum and dad's and squeeze in his single bed under his spiderman quilt.

That's such a creepy thing to say.
Btw 20 year olds are adults, and look like adults.

I didn't think of a PUA, but I suppose he could be. He doesn't really seem the type, he seems quite shy and sweet. But then again, so did my ex before he was violent, so you never know with men 🙄

How about a middle ground where you get to know him a bit more and decide down the line.

You are under zero obligation to shag him.

If he doesn't want to meet up without sex being on the agenda (immediately) then ...

Ar the risk of sounding like a prude, no, I don’t think you should.

My DD is not much younger than that and I’d be livid if a 35 year old man casually shagged her. Like a piece of meat.

Maybe do some online dating and find someone else more suitable?

Also if he’s that up for it, how many others has he shagged? It feels a bit icky.

Crazy. What business of yours is it who your adult daughter has sex with? What if she fancied the 35 year old and had chatted him up with a view to having sex with him? And had a bloody good time in the process?

Your DD is presumably capable of giving her own consent and it's not your business though?

If your DD approached a man, swapped details and made it clear she'd like a sexual encounter with him .... How would he be shagging her "like a piece of meat"?

Yeah I think it's a bit gross. I couldn't personally

If he gave you his number in a public place, I’d be very concerned about how many people he might have shagged (like thousands) and therefore what stds he might have. Protection isn’t foolproof.

rosesaredeadvioletsaretoo · 21/10/2024 23:36

Yes. You should.

Maviz · 21/10/2024 23:35

Poor boy?! He's 25 not 15. How ridiculous.

Shag the 25yr old! Know you are going in just for sex and enjoy the ride! You are overthinking. Go have some fun!!

Exactly this!

Differentstarts · 21/10/2024 23:35

Lyannaa · 21/10/2024 23:17

Do it. I slept with a 20 year old when I was 34. Tbh I thought he was too young but it was a fun time and I saw him various occasions - he had a lot of energy. Lately, he got in touch again 🤣

Now I find this gross. I think 25 is borderline. But 20 year olds look like children did you go to his mum and dad's and squeeze in his single bed under his spiderman quilt. At 34 are you really attracted to a 20 year old

SouthLondonMum22 · 21/10/2024 23:34

Go for it. Casual sex can be amazing.

HazelPlayer · 21/10/2024 23:34

Bee43 · 21/10/2024 23:33

Not all men are the same. He could’ve approached OP because he genuinely fancied her, and even if it’s sex to begin with he could still get feelings after. She defo needs to be upfront with him.

There are very few men of any age who "cold approach" total strangers and swap numbers or SM. He's probably in the pua community.

TheNestedIf · 21/10/2024 23:33

The difficulty is, you said "yes" to his number. You glean far more information about random men who approach you in the street if you say "no". It tells you how they react when they hear a "no" from a woman. 9 times out of 10 it's never good, and that's in public let alone in private.
