All of these might seem like small steps but they all matter. Your MH team will be delighted that today has brought some progress. Just getting a few bits in Tesco and getting out will really count.
It is all moving towards you becoming healthier and happier and in your own home.

Your right PeggyMitchellsCameo,
they all do matter . It does make you appreciate the little things in life that’s for sure .
They are delighted and I’m very lucky to have them on my side , supporting me.
I feel like I can breathe properly for the first time in days , my body doesn’t feel as tense if that makes sense .
Hopefully in the next few weeks I will get more good news and have a home xx

I'm good thank you. More sober than I expected to be today! My drink is a Dark and stormy. Dark rum and ginger. Strangely it leaves me clear headed the next day which always raises the eyebrows of bar staff. Maybe it's not a very ladylike drink 😅 I had chicken gougons and chips with salt and vinegar covered in curry sauce. Very tasty. Many in my workplace have subway salad so maybe worth a try. Now for a big cup of tea. Enjoy your evening x

Laura I am so pleased to hear this news. It's much better than I imagined. I feel such contentment for you for the weekend. It was a horrible thought thinking you would be back to square one tomorrow but you aren't and it's fantastic. I had a very sensible 3 cocktails 🍸 and having some fish and chips in a bit. I hope you can get a decent meal yourself soon and are feeling a bit better this evening. @TealPoet you truly are a wonderful human being 🥰

Hi nornironlady.
How are you this evening?
It’s amazing news isn’t it , it was worth the battle that’s for sure .
What cocktails did you have? Oh and I love fish and chips! What are you having?
@TealPoet is amazing isn’t she , I cannot thank her enough xx

Thank you so very much .
I can’t believe you think I’m amazing, thank you.
I was thinking when I get a house I’m going to see if I can get a picture made that says all the lovely words that I’ve made a list of that all you lovely people have said about me on here and I’m going to frame it and put it in my bedroom xx

When you go to subway next, maybe get a sub, with lots of salad with it (as well as a biscuit, of course!)

Your immediate fight it over. Time to take stock and build yourself up.

Thank you Apolloneuro,
You can actually get a boxed salad from subway, funnily enough I’ve never been a huge fan of subway but with it being next door it’s easy for me at the moment.
I know, I’m still in shock about today. My emotions are all over the place but I’m very very grateful xx

It’s lovely isn’t it, I was thinking earlier it’d be lovely to be a swan just gliding along the lake all day without a care in the world .
My mental health team called me and was pleased with the result from the council. They are going to come and see me on Monday and bring me a care package and they said they can take me to Tesco to get some food to eat in the hotel and to get out for abit x

Ah, hopefully you can get yourself some fruit and veg soon. Are you anywhere near a supermarket? Are you allowed anything to cook in your room for when you're feeling a bit more up to eating? A mini slow cooker could be a godsend. On a slow cooking FB group, there was a guy who drove his lorry all over Europe and would have this mini slow cooker he could plug in and he'd cook all his meals in it so he could eat well while away for a few days.

You're amazing not to let your anger consume you even though you've every right to be angry and upset over the way they've treated you. What a huge difference just your mum being a listening ear and the odd visit could have made to you!

As if you hadn't thought to private rent! It sounds like a good sign that the housing team are getting on to it with sorting an actual home though. Still got everything crossed something comes up quickly and you can feel more settled.

There is a big Tesco nearby I might get a taxi to it one day and get some fruit and healthy bits .
I’m not allowed to cook anything in my room or bring any electrical kitchen appliances which is a shame as I’ve got a lovely microwave in my suitcase (I haven’t really) .
That sounds amazing about the lorry guy, good on him. Oh I can’t wait to cook food in the slow cooker.
I am angry and I feel angry at them but getting angry is not going to get me anywhere and just uses up energy that I need to reserve for something else . And one thing feeling angry does to you after a while is it makes you determined xx

I’ve followed this thread from the beginning and read it several times a day for the updates.

I have genuinely never felt so invested in a person that I’ve never met. You are truly an incredible lady and deserve so much more than what you are currently dealing with

im thrilled at your latest update and a huge sign of relief that you know you’re safe and warm now until you get something more permanent sorted ❤️

I love reading your posts. You’re so eloquent and funny in your writing. Please keep posting xxxx

Hi Giraffe888,
Awww that’s so lovely I can’t believe people are invested in my thread!
When I started it I just needed to reach out and for somebody , even if just one person to listen. I needed a friend. Never in a million years did I ever imagine all the support I’ve received. I went from having no friends to lots! I think you are all amazing
When I got the phone call from the council today I really wanted to put on a leather jacket and walk around the hotel with a cigarette behind my ear thinking I was Al Capone . But I didn’t but it made me feel powerful lol 😂 xx

I am in awe; you are an absolute warrior! I’ve lurked along keeping the page open and updating and feeling so frustrated and worried on your behalf. And the MNetters who have stepped up right behind you to support - I applaud them wholeheartedly! What a wild, exhausting journey you have been on, and you are a shining star coming out the other side still making jokes and writing witty responses to the thread comments.

Your post has been an entire rollercoaster showing the best of humanity (with tales of the worst too). You are so courageous, eloquent, strong, brave, and a tougher-than-you-think complete hero of a woman. You just absolutely rock, Laura.

You have a whole army of MNetters behind you, astride robot hoovers, waving spoons, and holding banners of support.

Also - top tip - if you buy a big selection of 12 cookies from Subway it’s a bargain £4.99 I think, and they keep pretty well for a couple of days (if they last that long!). And I am going to try your teabag tip! Many hugs to you, safe, secure and cosy in your room now.

Hi CookiePookie,
I love your name btw.
Awww thank you for reading my thread and for your lovely kind words.
The MN’s are absolutely amazing aren’t they . I am in awe of them .
Oh I don’t feel like a warrior I’m utterly exhausted, I never knew it would be so hard . But no going back got to keep wading through the mud until I get to the other side .
When I write my book I’m going to have a huge page of acknowledgements!
Omg I didn’t know that about the cookies 🍪 at subway , thank you . Did you know they do a foot long cookie? A whole foot long , I was thinking that’s huge what greedy git would eat that then proceeds to wolf 3 cookies down one after the other (and get more the following day).
Definitely try the tea bag trick I think it works with Coca Cola too but I thought that was too expensive xx

I managed one and a half cookies today and had to give up. But they was very yummy .
I never thought I’d say this but I’m craving salads and fruit and veg. Oh what id give for abit of broccoli and carrots and cauliflower.
Thank you for your lovely comments , unfortunately my parents haven’t seen or known everything I’ve been through lately . I’ve tried to tell my mum but when she replies with ‘awww no’ or just puts a x to your reply it’s hard to express it when you’re getting a lack of attention.
There’s been so many times these last few weeks where I’ve craved a hug from my mum and just to hear words of comfort from her. I’m still heartbroken over it but now there’s a part of me that feels angry , actually I feel quite angry at all my family but I’m not going to let it consume me xx

And 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 @TealPoet for booking the room for the extra days and allowing the space for all this to happen.

I just caught your message Laura that said they'll rebook that room till you're housed. That's so so awesome! The next move for you and the spoon will be to your actual new home 😍. xx

@TealPoet is amazing isn’t she . I’ve never known kindness like it . She’s a super human being and I cannot thank her enough .
They must be doing something at the council as I’ve been homeless over a month and I’ve just received a phone call from the private rent team at the council asking me if I’ve considered renting privately. I nearly laughed . I said I’ve been looking at private rental for months way before I was made homeless. But again there’s so many obstacles in your way , having to earn 18xmonthly rent annually, having to have a guarantor , not currently working . I’ve tried I even rang every estate agent in the area huge first week I was homeless .
Id love a private rented property but it is not possible hence applying for council homes .
But anyway wherever I will be I will have my spoon with me xx
