Good morning all! @PeggyMitchellsCameo similar picture in my house this morning. Managed to fine a few slices of bread for toasting before I head to sainsburys at 8am. The joys! Laura I hope you can get out over the weekend for some supplies. I hope you've been able to process the emotions of yesterday and can relax a little now 😘

Morning nornironlady,
Ohhh what did you have on your toast?
Ive no plans to get out over weekend but Monday I have a hospital appointment and after then when I get back my mental health team said they would take me to Tescos . I’ve made a little list of what I need to get. I can’t wait to be able to do a food shop when I get a house and make proper meals.
I do feel more relaxed than yesterday thank you, I can sit and think about my children instead of having that hanging over my head too xx

Morning, cookie monsters. I am just about to go down to breakfast which in this establishment means probably a cuppa and some digestives as I need to get some bits in.
I hope you have slept @Imbluedalale
Sending a big hug to you and everyone on this thread as you are deffo all lovely people.

Morning PeggyMitchellsCameo,
How are you today?
Oh I love tea and biscuits, I find that digestives don’t normally fit into my mug so I break them in half and dunk . I’m not a dip and bite kinda girl I’m a dunker get it in one girl. Also Jaffa cakes are my downfall I can’t just eat one or two and I full moon them so yeah I’m greedy when it comes to biscuits.
I’m just sat with a cup of tea and my breakfast to go box , today I’ve got juice , corn flakes and a croissant so that will last me until after lunch.
Thank you for the hug and sending a big one back xx

This is such brilliant news, I’m so happy for you and so impressed by all the lovely Mumsnetters who helped. That edited letter was by a long way the best thing I’ve ever seen ChatGPT do, and I’m a fan of it!

Well done for standing up for yourself Laura, you should feel so proud. It sounds like you’re in the perfect place for your next stage of healing with that lovely peaceful view, and the safety of your room, and kind people checking in on you. It also sounds 100% like all your mental health struggles came from the circumstances you were in and the abuse you suffered and probably also a lifetime of your parents coldness towards you, and that there’s nothing inside you or your brain that caused any of it. You didn’t cause their treatment of you, and you didn’t cause your anxiety or sadness or any of it. You’re a wonderful person, and all you needed was some support and safety to start building a free and happy life for yourself. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and can now start to relax and feel like you’re truly safe. 💞

Edited

Morning Meanwhile33,
Thank you so much. The MN’s on here are all lovely wonderful people , I will be forever thankful to them . And the email was brilliant wasn’t it, I read it to my mental health nurse and she was so impressed!
My mental health did definitely start during relationship with ex, I used to be a bubbly happy confident person who could make friends with anybody but he took all that from me. He ruined my peace that’s for sure. He was his happiest when I was my most upset. He would be delighted if he knew everything that’s happened since he made me homeless.
Re my parents I think that’s how I am with my children , I always want them to feel loved and I always say when I’m with them ‘come and give mummy a cuddle’ and I’m very affectionate with them. I don’t ever want them to crave my love and not feel as though they can get it.
Thank you @Meanwhile33 I do feel safe here and although I deeply miss my children and am still homeless I feel as though I can’t start to heal from the trauma of everything xx

It will really do you the power of good to get out on Monday....I hope its a lovely blue sky day and that you manage to buy a nice colouring book and some bits to eat

Having seen the crafting you did the other weekend you can make a great picture to go in your new bedroom, oh just think, you will be able to have it just how you want it.. .what colours do you think you might like??

Morning Munchyseeds2,
How are you today?
Well I have to say I had the best sleep that I’ve had in a long time last night.
I laid on the bed with my book about 9.45pm and I’ve woke up this morning not believing that I’ve slept all the way through with my book next to me.
It’s a beautiful poem isn’t it, I love it . Thank you to the wonderful person who wrote it for me, I will keep it forever.
Hmmm for my bedroom I would like something plain but with pops of colour in it or I really like blue and white together . I want to get my children’s bedrooms done first so it’s all cosy for them when they are with me xx

Morning Laura and everyone! I woke up thinking about you Laura, and thinking about nice things you could get in Tesco’s when you go there on Monday. Do you have a fridge in your room? If so then these are worth a try, they have protein, carbs and veg all in one thing, they last well and they’re nice eaten cold straight from the fridge. I really like them and always choose this instead of sandwiches when I need something quick and easy. You could get some punnets of growing cress too, and maybe a pot of growing basil, for some fresh greens to add to things whenever you fancy.

It’s so good that you’ve got so many people looking after you. Maybe you could ask your mental health team to help arrange for you to see your daughter & your youngest this week, now that your immediate worries are sorted.

There are lots of great free guided meditations on YouTube that might help you find peaceful moments too. I love , it made me sob the first time I did it, it’s very healing for emotional wounds. Lots of love.

This 100%. I'm another who has lurked along and have been so hoping for good news and today's is the best. You are such a warm, wonderful person who deserves the best. Here's to Fabulous You! (and your spoon😁).

Awww , how lovely, thank you so much NeedWineNow.
Today really is great news I’m still in shock.
I was listening to Coldplay , fix you earlier . It made me think of all of you and I imagined us all singing it waving our wooden spoons in the air …

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above, or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face, and I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face, and I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Xx

Laura, if you are going to Tesco, I have bought headphones there really not very expensive. You can also get adult colouring books and pencils. Now you are staying there it might be worth getting them to pass the time. Oh, and you could get some lovely biscuits to go with your cups of tea 🍪🌞

Ohhh I’ll have a look for some headphones at Tesco and some colouring books , I didn’t think of that , thank you 🙏
Oh I’ll not forget the biscuits lol , I might even buy a broccoli and crunch on it . Actually I could get some celery.
Fireworks outside tonight , really makes me miss my children. I can’t look outside the windows tonight as there’s a big fair on the left of the hotel and I can hear people screaming and shouting etc so I’ve put the tv on . Hopefully next year I can make up for it and do something special with them xx

I’ve followed this thread from the beginning and read it several times a day for the updates.

I have genuinely never felt so invested in a person that I’ve never met. You are truly an incredible lady and deserve so much more than what you are currently dealing with

im thrilled at your latest update and a huge sign of relief that you know you’re safe and warm now until you get something more permanent sorted ❤️

I love reading your posts. You’re so eloquent and funny in your writing. Please keep posting xxxx

So happy that your body is beginning to relax a bit, Laura (what does your name mean by the way?). It’s a really lovely name.

Love that view and that you’re taking some pics. I imagine them interleaved in your book sort of indicating moments of peace that I know we all hope for you.

Great news that your MH team will take you to Tesco although sorry you aren’t allowed to cook. There’s probably lots you can do with a kettle if you’d like some warm food like cup a soup, instant porridge, noodles or pastas or salads etc are lovely too. I’m glad you have subway within reach. Wish we could all just be delivering you meals! Xx

It’s beautiful isn’t it RaspberryBeretxx,
Its definitely going in my book that’s for sure
My name comes from the Latin word Laurus , meaning laurel. In Roman times the laurel tree was associated with victory and honour and was used to crown leaders and poets . Thank you for liking my name.

This part I got from google :
As a result, the name Laura came to be associated with victory, honor, and fame. People named Laura are often described as being intelligent, graceful, and charming. They are always willing to help others, and they are always there for their loved ones.

I’m definitely going to get some vegetable cup a soup and some porridge . It’s lovely that my MH team are willing to do that for me. Everybody has been so so kind. I’m going to get them a big box of chocolates to say thank you xx

A New Dawn fo My Spoon

Sitting here with my suitcase my head in my hands,
Wondering if it’s time now to really say goodbye,
But something else is meant for me on the right side of this track,
The kindness of strangers who have simply left a reply.
They have believed me, and listened, and never questioned my words,
There is an enveloping acceptance in that,
I have a feeling they will follow wherever life leads me,
Friends made, and confidences shared, my thread a welcoming mat.
Life has dealt me too many blows of late but now I come up for air,
Knowing I’m not alone logging each progress made,
I am glad that I sat on the wrong platform for me,
I was meant for much more, after baby steps are laid.
So let’s all have a cuppa, and know we have each other,
Because family is where you find it, not always were you were born,
Keep me in your prayers, so a new roof and a renewed start,
Means my spoon finds a home, and my life finds a fresh dawn.

I didn’t write this absolutely amazing poem , it was given to me by an amazing woman , I can’t stop reading it xx

I'm good thank you. More sober than I expected to be today! My drink is a Dark and stormy. Dark rum and ginger. Strangely it leaves me clear headed the next day which always raises the eyebrows of bar staff. Maybe it's not a very ladylike drink 😅 I had chicken gougons and chips with salt and vinegar covered in curry sauce. Very tasty. Many in my workplace have subway salad so maybe worth a try. Now for a big cup of tea. Enjoy your evening x

😂😂😂Ohhh that sounds lovely . I like rum in my cocktails too.
Who cares if it’s ladylike or not , aslong as you enjoy it that’s all that matters.
Oh your tea sounds amazing! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy your big cup of tea xx
