It's utterly rubbish of her. She really doesn't deserve to have a daughter as awesome as you are!

Thank you ChoccieCornflake,
I honestly don’t know what I’ve done to deserve this . It’s heartbreaking.
I might not have my family and I might not have a home but what you lose you gain and I’ve gained a whole army of selfless wonderful amazing people and I’ll forever be grateful xx

And you absolutely deserve to be placed somewhere that meets your needs. Sounds like the manager is just focused on funding only, the manager at the homeless team in the council I worked at would have gone above and beyond to help someone like you.

Some of the hotels used for the homeless are horrendous, I absolutely understand why you wont go there x

Thank you CleverLemonCat,
Well I’ve not received a call back and the offices are now closed so I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow and hopefully receive some news then xx

I know but it deeply hurts . She will text me again in a few days asking me if I’m ok and I’ll say no I’m not ok and then she’ll just ignore me again. I’ve just texted her and told her I tried to end my life last night she hasn’t replied .
Thank you to all you lovely brigade I truly am so so thankful for your kindness and support xx

Hi @Imbluedalale I have just looked up the details of the chief executive of Doncaster city council.
See below. Please email him and explain your situation and that the domestic abuse you have experienced plus your cancer and paralysis/disabilities. Tell him about how you have been spoken to, unsuitable accommodation you were offered and why you cannot go there. Also tell him about being told not expecting the Ritz.
Include the incident at the train station and police finding you. Hope this helps 🌺

Your mum really is something else isn't she! I mean FFS - just "xx"?! Try not to let that get you down. Think of the Brigade at your back, with all our spoons and tea!

Hi CleverLemonCat,
They are definitely kicking and screaming and dragging their feet!
I understand about the tight budgets , I really do and I know many others need help but I need help too and I just want a little bit of care and compassion instead of ‘computer says no’ xx

Don't think that far ahead. The council have a couple of days, and more to the point, they have a couple of days of having pressure put on them from people like MPs.

I really truly hope so ChoccieCornflake.
I’ve even been praying xx

Hold on to the fact that the manager is just one person, and that far more people think you are awesome than think otherwise. Also, remember it's not that she doesn't like you, ie you as a person. She doesn't like it being obvious her team are messing up, and she's taking that out on you. Which is appalling and unfair, but NOT a comment on your worth.

Thank you ChoccieCornflake,
That means a lot .
Wow, my mum has just messaged me asking how I am . I told her that because I was homeless and on the streets last night until the police found me I feel absolutely rotten and her reply was ‘xx’ !

I can’t do it Apolloneuro,
I just can’t and I’m sorry for that but the thought fills me with absolute fear.
They said they didn’t know , could be days , could be weeks , could be months .
I honestly don’t know what to do if they come back and still stand firm because I won’t be accepting it xx

How are things going with your kids?

They are ok thanks Apolloneuro.
I miss them desperately and feel completely lost without them I’ve never been away from them for so long but I would hate if they was going through this with me and I would hate to put them somewhere unsafe. I keep telling myself that they are happy, warm, fed and clothed. Sometimes it helps a lot of the time it doesn’t xx

Mmm to the update. Threatening you that they could drop your homeless status because you won’t go somewhere everyone deems is unsuitable. Not ok.

Laura, do you know how long you would likely need to be there for? Is there any way you could stock up on food and drink, go to the place, barricade the door, put earplugs in and just stay there? You’re brave and you’re strong. I know you don’t feel it. In reality, the place probably is safe although of course I understand it doesn’t feel it.

I know you don’t want to, but it might be the only way. See what tomorrow brings.

Good for you, and well done for pointing out to her the whole issue is that the place is dodgy enough that it NEEDS security!

Exactly ChoccieCornflake,
Even the police said they are called there 3/4 times a day so security can’t be that good xx

I suppose that on the upside, they are being dragged kicking and screaming into finding you suitable accommodation. If all their placements are full, perhaps it will be a case of waiting for someone to leave one of the nicer places, or someone to authorise paying for suitable placement for you.

I remember when covid hit, suddenly every single street homeless person was found accommodation within days.....just because the government had to provide funding for it.

Homeless teams are working within ridiculously tight budgets, however with the pressure being placed on them looks like there may be light soon x

Glad you've had a chance to get some rest in.

It's horrible how the council have treated you and spoken to you. Huge well done for standing your ground and explaining everything to them. You're honestly amazing. Thank god for your MH team and creative support, they sound awesome and it's so good to know they're supporting you. I'm also glad it has escalated to the manager (as horrible as she sounds!) as it does sound like they're realising they can't just offload the responsibility for getting you a safe place to stay onto someone else. Hope you're feeling OK Flowers

Hi RaspberryBeretxx,
Thank you so much .
Actually when the manager called me I was quite shocked with myself that I managed to advocate for myself without getting into a pitiful mess . I made it clear that it was unacceptable about how I’ve been treated and I made it clear I will be taking it further . I’m still here, I’m still (trying) to fight but we will see what they say xx

Wow, what a horrible way they have treated you!! It does sound like all the pressure being put on them is paying off though, in that I'm sure before they would not have bothered to be looking into it further.

Massive hugs!!

It’s honestly vile ChoccieCornflake,
They’ve made me feel like I really don’t matter and I already had thoughts of that nature but they have amplified it by 100.
My creative support worker has said they are not happy with her either.
Thank you for the hugs xx
