To conclude a fun thread I started about ‘stunning’ men can we vote on the marvellous Mr Peck please. He was mentioned over and over and over again by so many of us. Understandably of course. Love to see if it’s ‘official’ 🤣.

ah the days when men didn't have man buns or facial hair.

RosaMoline · 11/10/2024 18:21

Gregory Peck is my no 1 swoon
If we’re talking vintage, also:
Richard Burton
Yul Brynner
Cary Grant

How about Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Thirst Trapp?

Yeah, I've had a list on the other thread but I'm going with Paul N too Grin

I've read (I think in an interview with Joanne) that Paul Newman's entire beautification routine consisted of him splashing his face with cold water every morning.

It worked for him! Certainly no "work" visible to me.

ETA someone once said Redford looks like what he is, a California blond who had a lot of sun. I respect him for not faffing with his face.

There's a moment in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where, having been pursued high up into the mountains, Paul Newman insists their best option is to jump into the water below in order to escape - then Robert Redford admits he can't swim and Paul Newman laughs.... I have always thought in that moment, with his blue eyes shining and his wide smile and the laughter, PN the most handsome man that ever lived!

dollybird · 11/10/2024 17:43

Paul Newman 100%

PuppyMonkey · 11/10/2024 17:42

I mean, he was very handsome and statuesque, I don’t know whether I’d describe him as stunning for some reason.

Brando, Newman, Presley, Curtis… they were stunners imho.

offyoujollywelltrot I am also captivated by Mads Mikkelsen

elozabet · 11/10/2024 17:37

Plus I see Gregory peck as the perfect father figure (atticus finch)

menopausalmare · 11/10/2024 17:35

No, Rob Lowe is.

elozabet · 11/10/2024 17:35

Paul Newman all the way

Sluj · 11/10/2024 17:34

I don't expect anyone else to understand this but I have had a thing about "Anthony Quinn" for decades. Ever since I saw "A high wind in Jamaica " when I was little 🤣

Turnitoffnonagain · 11/10/2024 17:34

Oooh yeah. 😍

Lentilweaver · 11/10/2024 17:33

Matthew Goode is his modern day avatar.

Lentilweaver · 11/10/2024 17:32

Yes.

DragonflyRuby · 11/10/2024 17:31

Paul Newman all the way! He was beautiful as a young man and still gorgeous when he was older.

Gregory Peck is a bit meh.

I love the romantic comment that he made about why would he go out for a burger when he had steak at home. Fabulous actor & seriously gorgeous. Sounds like we may have the roots of a MN Paul Newman fan club here ladies. 😉

offyoujollywelltrot · 11/10/2024 17:28

Incorrect.

It's a no from me I'm afraid, but I'm happy to agree that he was very handsome, a good actor and to all accounts a decent bloke.

I know you won't be content with that @Pippetypoppity 😂

Clint Eastwood is my choice. Phwoar.

DonaldJohnTrump · 11/10/2024 17:12

Weeelll. He's a reasonable second, I spose.

Gatekeeper · 11/10/2024 17:12

He had the most beautiful profile and mouth

Ibloodylovetea · 11/10/2024 17:10

Gorgeous, yes - but Paul Newman is my fantasy lover. Or maybe Marlon Brando. 😍

Same!
