Is ok for a group of mature mums to go on a Butlins Adults Only weekend just for fun with friends, drinking and dancing? DH thinks they're all about sex with strangers.

Me and my friends used to go to the now defunct Caister Soul Weekends twice a year for many years and managed to completely avoid shagging random strangers.

Ive got mates who go to the Butlins weekends at Bognor and they just go to have a fun weekend not looking for sex.

Your DH is being an idiot

Peonies12 · 09/10/2024 16:25

Your DH is being silly; it’s just a fun weekend of music and drinking! I’ve been on a couple; they’re really good fun especially the 90s one; and a mix of all ages.

You couldn’t pay me to go. They all sound rough 😆

Yet you sound like the model of decorum 🙄

Lollypop701 · 09/10/2024 16:23

Well you could shag some one you met whilst shopping in Tesco you don’t need to go to butlins! You know dh is being an idiot and in worst case scenario projecting his behaviour onto you. The question is will you Put up with it?

I go away with girls and worst thing we do is talking shite, kitchen dancing and hangovers resulting in a day in bed

Apologies. I'm new to MN and not that tech savvy. I sent the same message twice and MN Admin stopped my account. They have now reinstated me. A lesson not to post in the early hours whilst upset. I just want some impartial advice as it's causing a lot of distress in our 34 year marriage.

@Sundaymondaytuesdayetc But why on earth are you calling yourselves " girls"? You are doing yourself and you friends a total disservice.

Disagree, I’m not doing any disservice to myself by calling myself a “girl”.

Babewhat · 09/10/2024 07:13

Reported both threads. Is it half term already?

TwistedWonder · 09/10/2024 07:12

Of course it’s fine. Mums allowed a lufe

Absolutely nothing wrong with going away with your friends.

But why on earth are you calling yourselves " girls"? You are doing yourself and you friends a total disservice.

Edited

Standard expression that doesn’t require explanation, same as a lads’ weekend. It’s common usage.

Completelyjo · 09/10/2024 07:12

How many threads on this do you need, particularly when you aren’t engaging with the replies?

Adults only just means no kids. I’d want to know what he’s been doing on lads’ weekends that makes him think any different.

Shoxfordian · 09/10/2024 05:36

Dh sounds jealous and controlling, red flag

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/10/2024 05:25

He’s being ridiculous. Go and have fun.

cerebuswannabe · 09/10/2024 05:02

I've been on a few weekends at Butlins such a laugh with friends. Get it booked.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 09/10/2024 04:31

He's projecting massively. This is only because this has happened on every lads weekend he has been to or knows of.

Either he has shitty mates, or he's a shit himself.

If he's trying to stop you from going due to his own. Literally manmade insecurities, please don't let him put you off.

ahemfem · 09/10/2024 04:27

DH isn't going so who cares what he thinks
