To feel slightly suspicious of dp

Hi, I'm looking to know would YOU be suspicious? I'm not really suspicious but maybe a bit slightly?

So, dp works for his dads business and has for the last 10 years. Dp doesn't start work until 9. Usually he would set an alarm for 8:30 which sounds really late but his workplace is a 2 minute drive from our home. And he's really easy going 🤣. His dad doesn't drive but a workmate would always collect him.

About a month ago dp started setting alarms at 6.45-7:15 getting up and leaving the house within 10 mins of those alarms. (Extremely early from before) I've been with dp 5 years he's never up that early for work.

He says it's because he's starting to give his dad a lift to work every morning. His mum and dad live a 5 minute drive from our home. That's not too suspicious. But the thing that's making me go 🤨 is he's leaving home in the mornings in his normal clothes. He says he gets ready in his parents house just before he leaves for work as it's easier?

He has a specific work uniform. He would always get ready here before leaving.

So he's started leaving the house over an hour earlier than usual and not getting ready here?

Would you be suspicious?

Follow him or have him followed.

Alternatively talk to him!

I think it's highly suspicious esp the over affection....

Suzuki70 · 28/09/2024 20:26

I understand the desire for proof but I would push past the bullshit about how he's going to work and you're crazy, to say you know he's lying about something and you're going to proceed on the basis that it's bad enough to be marriage-ending.

getsomehelp · 28/09/2024 20:24

Well he's not collecting his Dad, as Dad was at work & the car was still outside his house.
I would stop trying to prove anything.
I would tell him to stay at his parents from now on as something is up, & he is lying about the lifts & lying by omission & you are not playing.

why can’t OP ask him outright “why are you going to your parents house so soon and dressed as though you’re going on a date, complete with a £400 watch then changing into your work clothes?”
Im starting to think we’ve all be had 🤷🏼‍♀️

Didn’t op say she had? He says he has to leave early to collect his dad and he laughs at her and calls her crazy.

Not daft at all. I hide my love of mcdonalds from other half. It's the only secret I have. I always feel so bold when I eat a sneaky sausage mcmuffin

Are you my long lost identical twin? If not, you should be!

NewUser1111 · 28/09/2024 19:44

Any chance at all he could have lost his job, one that doesn’t involve a uniform, started a new one with much earlier hours, been too worried/ashamed to tell you?

Maia77 · 28/09/2024 19:38

It does sound suspicious. So he's not an early bird but all of a sudden he is leaving the house to collect his dad an hour and a half before the work starts. Unless he wants to spend some time with his parents before work...

HaveSomeIntrospect · 28/09/2024 19:31

Did his dad say he was at work or not?

WandaFishy99 · 28/09/2024 18:51

It might sound daft but do you think he could be getting a McDonald's breakfast? An addiction to junk food?
Maybe he tried it once and loved it.
Told you it sounded daft!

Oh god, I feel sick, the same sick as I felt when I saw a message on my exs phone that I wish I hadn't seen 😞 I hope there is a reason that's not an affair 😔

Tahlbias · 28/09/2024 18:57

Did you ask to speak to you OH?

OK. So. Anymore updates? I'm investing now and wished I hadn't seen this until tomorrow 😩

Me too!

Update:

I rung dp he says he's at work. We rung the workplace his father answered.

Well, this is painful

OK. So. Anymore updates? I'm investing now and wished I hadn't seen this until tomorrow 😩

heaven forbid someone gets something wrong. No need for the eye roll

You wouldn't have got the eye roll if you hadn't defended your theory.

Thursdaygirl · 28/09/2024 18:16

Even David Beckham would get short shrift at my house, at that time in the morning!

Bumcake · 28/09/2024 18:14

Formerowmanyyearsago · 27/09/2024 12:08

As the title says.... He would come to my house for an hour before work.

There you go - he’s at @Formerowmanyyearsago’s house.

You should follow him when he leaves for work, you'll soon see where he goes

If you read the thread you’ll see this was attempted today.

Staunchlystarling · 28/09/2024 17:31

And if a woman posted she went to see her parents every morning and her husband had her followed then put a tracker on her car you’d be the first to say ltb.

Not if she was changing her clothes when she never used to and wearing jewellery she never used to and changing the time she left the house when she previously loved a lie in. I’m pretty sure most people would be saying the same thing! I don’t think this is gender related.

AW24 · 28/09/2024 18:07

@Staunchlystarling
I've no idea what you mean.
