To feel slightly suspicious of dp

Hi, I'm looking to know would YOU be suspicious? I'm not really suspicious but maybe a bit slightly?

So, dp works for his dads business and has for the last 10 years. Dp doesn't start work until 9. Usually he would set an alarm for 8:30 which sounds really late but his workplace is a 2 minute drive from our home. And he's really easy going 🤣. His dad doesn't drive but a workmate would always collect him.

About a month ago dp started setting alarms at 6.45-7:15 getting up and leaving the house within 10 mins of those alarms. (Extremely early from before) I've been with dp 5 years he's never up that early for work.

He says it's because he's starting to give his dad a lift to work every morning. His mum and dad live a 5 minute drive from our home. That's not too suspicious. But the thing that's making me go 🤨 is he's leaving home in the mornings in his normal clothes. He says he gets ready in his parents house just before he leaves for work as it's easier?

He has a specific work uniform. He would always get ready here before leaving.

So he's started leaving the house over an hour earlier than usual and not getting ready here?

Would you be suspicious?

Well duh … I didn’t realise that as I live a life where I’ve got no need to know what that means until now. But now I do know 😂😂😂

But you said earlier (on one of your many deleted posts) that you used MN regularly, on a daily basis.

How could you not know that you're not supposed to accuse an OP on their thread, of lying (i.e. being a troll)?

It's one of the most important of the TGs. You're supposed to report posts to MNHQ if you think they're not genuine.

👍

And?

I don't think OP is coming back.

I don’t think I would either if I were her.

You didn't know what it means yet you strongly disageed with more than one posters explaining what you done 😂

I've never heard of troll hunting either and I'm definitely not new to the Internet! Not a huge forum user I guess, I only pop over here if I get an email with what looks like an interesting post 😅

Thank the lord. Another human like me who didn’t know what troll hunting on the internet was 😂 what a strange world we live in where people ‘hunt trolls’ online 😂

I can understand why you might think it’s far fetched but it’s also possible op is genuine and it could now be impossible for her to return to this thread for support when she’s been called a liar. That’s why MN just want you to report to them rather than say it on the thread.

Okay I get that. It was badly judged. But she’s not coming back. If she does I’ll stand completely corrected and feel terrible for my cynicism. I doubt my posts were any worse than the ones who think it’s funny and a source of entertainment

What does your age have to do with it?

Troll hunting on the internet has been a thing for well over 20 years, unless you're new to the internet?

Protect yourself just in case. Look after your money, make sure it is safe. If anything happens then you at least have financial fall back. Protect yourself. Have a separate life, incase you are left isolated. I mean your own friends, dont invest all in one basket. Have your eggs spread out.

If you doubt the OP then you know what to do.

The thread is still up so....

Seems weird to me, I can't see a mum having time to have a shag before the school run, and I can't see a non-mum getting up that early unless forced to - I certainly would not want to shag anyone that much, and I'd feel a bit used/suspicious by one hour a day at 7am!

I'm going with he's doing something he knows you won't like, but not that.

Edited

You're assuming a woman.
It would make more sense if it were a man.

Men wake up horny which is more aligned to the hours quoted

So maybe he's discovered a new side to his tastes

ClockworkDisaster · 29/09/2024 08:59

It isn’t looking good, is it? 😞 I can’t think of another reason for why he would be at his parents house so early every day. I’m sure if his mother was sick he would have just told you.

Tanjamaltija · 29/09/2024 05:54

So, do his parents wash his clothes when he changes into his unform? Or does he bring them back with him? Or does he change back into his clothes, and they wash the dirty unforms together, his and his father's? Something is not quite right.

soberholic · 29/09/2024 02:10

My husband thinks cheating - when I mentioned the hours being way too early (he's terrible at getting up) he didn't see the problem - just that the OW has commitments so they're working on her schedule. I also suggested gambling etc but he's in the "cheating camp".

Men sure do love sex!

If it turns out to be cheating though, I'm really sorry OP.

soberholic · 29/09/2024 01:55

Garlictest · 28/09/2024 23:00

I read a thing about prostitution, which said breakfast is their second busiest time of day. I was surprised, too, but it makes perfect sense for all those "good family men" with regular jobs, who like to slot in a bit of extracurricular without looking suspicious.

OP, I'd pack the baby up and go lurk near his parents' house between 8:30 and 9:00. If he doesn't come out with his dad, you know at least that part of his story is untrue.

Wow! I had no idea! I think because I can't imagine choosing sex over a coffee and lightly toasted baguette at 7:00 am.

Yeah I'd pack the baby up too, although the woman who had the idea of hiding a second phone in his car and sharing location - that's a good idea!

Louise303 · 29/09/2024 01:19

LBFseBrom · 28/09/2024 22:23

Did you not just ask tio speak to him? There was always the possibility that someone other than your husband would answer the phone.

The op does not talk to the parents but it would of been a good idea to ask a friend that does not know the dad to ask for her hubby.

Louise303 · 29/09/2024 01:14

ThisOchreLemur · 28/09/2024 22:58

I do believe this as well. OP partner's might be having an affair with that friend.

If she was though she would of tried to put her mind at rest by saying he was not parked outside at 10am.Then again if it was anything like her being the affair partner would she want it to come out.
