Ferrero Rocher are at Ambassadors prices though.

I know, but with these Rocher they are really spoiling us - so worth it in my opinion even if it means going to the Ambassadors party to get hold of them...

It's just a red bell pepper from a brand called Natoora. In theory their vegetables are meant to be tastier and more nutritious than bog standard supermarket veg, but I don't know anyone who's ever bought them to found out.

I haven't so no idea iv also never heard of them I just googled it and it said their 3 times the size of a standard bell pepper

That Spanish EV olive oil was on offer in Waitrose the other week btw, the litre bottle, eight quid, about the same as Lidl is now. The olive oil thing I can just about understand, it's an issue for everyone. Worse for us in the UK though with our brexit bonanza pricing on top.

Sadtosaythis · 26/09/2024 22:39

I did see a £43 leg of lamb in Sainsburys a few weeks back………it wasn’t even that big…

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/09/2024 22:38

Just dont say the "b" word or holier than though @MrsTerryPratchett will have it reported, the grass.

Thou.

Crikeyalmighty · 26/09/2024 22:38

Honestly I'm quite happy at clipper t bags£3 for big box in Sainsbury's when I bought a few weeks ago

It's got to be olive oil - mental money

poetrylover · 26/09/2024 22:35

Yep, I have taken roughly a £2k pay cut over the last two years. I literally have to work harder and longer with less breaks and more expectation for less money. I still love it or I wouldn't be doing it but it stings.

HauntedBungalow · 26/09/2024 22:34

Our food prices haven't gone up by twenty fucking five percent in two years because of wage increases.

Franklyyes · 26/09/2024 22:33

Leverpool · 26/09/2024 20:48

I really don’t get how people who earn £150k don’t understand how wage inflation hasn’t in fact risen hand in hand with price inflation.

But then I reflect some people who are lacking in intelligence and EQ can still earn that salary as a TikTok influencer, thus requiring neither.

As wages go up so do prices - people want large wage increases but it then knocks onto increases in those industries - viscious circle

I was shocked and refused to buy it .

hopefully lose some weight now as I was buying at least 3 bars a week 😊

Chocolate is shit now anyway because of the palm oil. And even if we don’t consider the poor darling orangutans (which I hope we do) it tastes fucking horrible.

Lidl own brand quilted toilet roll is really good. Not quite as thick as Andrex but better than other quilted supermarket own brands. It’s just dropped below £3 for 9 rolls, having been over £3 for the last couple of years.

HauntedBungalow · 26/09/2024 22:29

So £3.70 for a pepper that's fucking spelt wrong then?

As for who's buying them, at a guess I'd say @Phen0menon .

Happyearlyretirement · 26/09/2024 22:28

In defence of the co op, their own brand ketchup is amazing and only £1.30. My die hard traditional ketchup fans totally agree way tastier.

Differentstarts · 26/09/2024 22:27

Greenlabelss · 26/09/2024 22:13

@workingtowards this is absolutely fucking outrageous. What absolute dickhead is buying this and thereby endorsing it?

It's a natoora pepper not just a red bell pepper

LetsGoDoDoDo · 26/09/2024 22:27

HappierTimesAhead · 26/09/2024 20:15

I have come to terms with olive oil being the same price as a bottle of wine with the reasoning that the bottle of wine will only last a couple of days but the oil will last for ages. I acknowledge this is very first world, privileged reasoning.

Same! 😀

coronafiona · 26/09/2024 22:26

Diet Coke is so expensive I buy aldi own brand and it's fine.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 26/09/2024 22:26

Greenlabelss · 26/09/2024 22:14

@Fluffybagel i used to buy it all the time. Can’t bring myself to spend nearly a fiver on it though!

Waitrose essentials ketchup: 95 pence for 470g. It’s just as nice, if not nicer.

itsmylife7 · 26/09/2024 22:26

LittleGreenDuck · 26/09/2024 21:17

@PeggyMitchellsCameo you beat me to it with Lurpak. Crazy price.

Cadbury's chocolate when from about £1.75 to £2.50 for a 200g bar, overnight.

I was shocked and refused to buy it .

hopefully lose some weight now as I was buying at least 3 bars a week 😊

One red pepper for £3.70 from Ocado
Unless that thing's the size of a tennis court that is madness Shock

And in these sheds you have 20ft high peppers, and these peppers are scared because they don't know why they're so big, and they're going, "Oh why am I so massive?"

mrshoho · 26/09/2024 22:25

Supermarkets are a lot less busy these days. Except maybe Lidl, there's always a queue at Lidl!
