I’m getting increasingly frustrated with people who share every little achievement or success on social media. It feels like they’re showing off rather than sharing genuine moments. AIBU to think that this constant sharing is annoying and unnecessary?

Some people have a need to seek others approval or well wishes. What difference does it make to your life how well anyone else is doing. Just unfollow them if it bothers you.

Maybe they have a (mental) hole they cannot fill. Whatever the reason they do it, your life will be happier if you're not witness to it if it bothers you.

I’m only friends with people I like so I like to see their achievements

It's what it's for. What do you use it for?

There's far too much negativity around to be bothered by people's successes. Just be happy for people and move on.

Isn't that kind of what it's for?
I see Facebook as my personal online scrapbook that I choose to share with selected people.
If something good happens to me - then quite possibly I would put about it on my page.
You don't have to read people's posts if you don't want too. It's not compulsory.

It doesn’t bother me one bit. If people have done something really great, then good on them. Let them share

Newgirls · 25/09/2024 15:12

It’s sort of what it’s for. I usually like reading the posts ~ if I like the people
