To ask how long can you all keep it tight before you need a blow out?

Only because after a whole Sumer of keeping it tight and responsible and the return to school stuff I am ready to drop the plough and cut loose. It feels like long enough.

An I unreasonable to say there is a limit on how long you can be good and work hard before you go mad?

Only you can change your life

if your not happy do something about it

i hate normal day to day life so don’t do it

we packed up and left with our kids for months to travel it’s bliss

Frizno · 19/09/2024 06:28

I think this is why I like rollercoasters.

Hurtling towards the ground at 60mph is a real removal from the real world.

HarrietJonesFlydaleNorth · 19/09/2024 06:27

Come to Germany - it is Oktoberfest season! 👀🍻

Actually the Germans are really quite good at having a number of different village -piss ups- festivals spaced throughout the year. So no one has to work too long before the next opportunity to dress up and go a bit bonkers!

😬

Globules · 19/09/2024 06:26

Do it. Do it. Do it.

If you need some you time, enjoy it. Go out out. With gin.

Thepossibility · 19/09/2024 06:22

Ngl I thought you were referring to bumholes.

I wish we had the nutso religious ceremonies they had in the Middle Ages where you could really let go of the everyday worries

Oh, so do I.
I'm always saying so to DH.

I think Butlins in Clacton has whole weekends dedicated to nutso religious ceremonies.

I hear this!
It’s the constant thinking about and for everyone else, and being stable and reasonable so that our world continues more or less in tact that tips the day to day into a grind sometimes.

I’d love to have a big tantrum and then a big nap, sprawled anywhere I fancy. I would then waken and go a-roving and do whatever I wanted and fuck the consequences 🤗

Then would return and make sure everyone has done their homework and we’re all eating enough high quality protein and that three generations of people are all safe and nurtured and socially responsible. Whilst not swearing loudly.

Fantastically well put

alpacachino · 19/09/2024 06:19

Have you considered hiring a babysitter and then going down the pub?

24 years and counting here. Nearly done DCs are 17 & 20. Planning on cutting hours and cutting loose in 8 years time.

Althenameshavegone · 19/09/2024 05:50

A few years ago on an early weekend day out to a local museum there was a woman, maybe early mid 20s roller skating with headphones on, dancing on the plaza outside the museum, free as a bird, not giving one shit what anyone thought of her. I think that’s what you’re after, it’s not about nights out it’s finding those spaces to just cut loose with confidence on your own.

SunnySundayAfternoon · 19/09/2024 05:46

From the title, I thought you were talking about holding in a fart while in front of the vicar/elderly aunts/new boyfriend and couldn't wait to let it rip.

PuddlesPityParty · 19/09/2024 05:37

Such nonsense 😂 you have to opportunity to go wild any time - get DH or if single a babysitter and go out with your mates. It’s not a “mums don’t have any opportunity” thing at all and is ridiculous to say so 🙄

For the 100th time in my life, I wish I could lose myself in dance or music. I envy those who can! Glad you enjoyed yourself.

I'm the worst dancer and I am usually so self conscious I never ever dance, I don't know what it was about that night but I just completely let loose!

Highly recommend sticking some headphones on and doing this, even if you have to drive far away from where you live if you don't want to get spotted, it's so freeing. Obviously wouldn't recommend anywhere too secluded with headphones on though.

YANBU I was at breaking point last week and needed to do something, shout into the void in the middle of field, shave off all my hair idk I had to do something!

My something ended up getting completely drunk, sticking on headphones and having a silent disco by myself on the local beach. It was so therapeutic and I knew that if anyone saw me dancing away by myself they would think I was crazy but in that moment I just did not care. Might sound crazy but I'd put it up there as one of my top ten moments in my life, I can't explain how free I felt looking out at the sea under the stars, with good music and just letting myself go.

For the 100th time in my life, I wish I could lose myself in dance or music. I envy those who can! Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Hoolihan · 19/09/2024 02:51

Totally get this OP. I want to howl at the moon. Paint the town red, or black. Cast spells, cause mischief, maybe smash some stuff. Feel the wind, see the stars, cry, laugh, dance.

Coatsoff42 · 18/09/2024 23:07

Ah, I’ve been going to bed early and doing work and house work for too long and wonder if everyone else feels like going out and going crazy after a while. Maybe I should grow up and everyone else keeps plugging away happily.
I feel like I need to go AWOL for an evening after a while.
i was wondering if people are happy working and caring ad infinitum or if they get to a point where they need to shake it off, then carry on.
i feel lt, i wish we had the nutso religious ceremonies they had in the Middle Ages where you could really let go of the everyday worries.

As a fluent speaker of English, reasonable Italian and semi-fluent Thai I am unable to understand what the hell this poster is on about. If she means she has been working hard and now feels the need to let her hair down on a night out then why the hell doesn’t she just do that. We all deserve to party on down now and again so OP if that’s what you mean get the hell outta there and go and have a blast you certainly don’t need our permission.

ImustLearn2Cook · 19/09/2024 01:32

@WallaceinAnderland That Queen song totally nails it.

ImustLearn2Cook · 19/09/2024 01:29

Sometimes I wish I could find a remote beach with no one to see me strip off naked and swim in the ocean. Swimming naked feels so amazing and freeing.

I have skinny dipped before in my younger years a couple of times with friends (when we thought we were alone) but both times we got caught out.

I know that there are places where there are nudist beaches, but I worry about there being some pervy, predatory types that go there deliberately. And I also don’t feel like I’d enjoy the freedom of swimming naked while being looked at.

YesitsBess · 18/09/2024 23:01

Is this related to hair, farming, tummy problems or gin?

My responses are slightly different depending on which it is...

If it’s gin, there is no limit.

Sounds like Sybil Fawlty.

That's funny, I'm hearing it in a west country accent.
