P Diddy arrested

poppyzbrite4 · 17/09/2024 11:04

P Diddy has been arrested on unspecified federal charges. There have been two raids on his properties relating to sex trafficking. He's also faced a series of allegations of sexual abuse including from his ex Cassie. There was CCTV evidence of him physically assaulting her and she claims she was raped and trafficked by him.

Other women have come forward accusing him of various offences including sexual assault. I'm wondering why these men get away with their criminal behaviour for so long. Why after #metoo are women being sexually abused by powerful men and what can be done about it?

People must have known what Diddy was doing for years, why didn't people come forward?

@BeerForMyHorses she does seem a bit bonkers though. The things she says about Jay z and other celebs waters down her message sometimes!

BeerForMyHorses · 19/09/2024 19:28

Jaguar Wright has been telling everybody this for years. She was absolutely hammered by people in the industry for what she has said.

HRTQueen · 19/09/2024 19:22

Not a suprise at all

Hw would be so sleezy around young woman working at Harrods

poppyzbrite4 · 19/09/2024 17:39

Another powerful man, Mohamed Al Fayed has been accused by over 20 women of assault and that's only the ones who have come forward. According to some, he was a prolific sexual predator.

It's said that Harrods covered it up. Yet again, people colluding in predatory sexual behaviour.

Puffy has had allegations on him since before 1994. No one in the main media took notice. I read stuff in The Source and Vibe magazine and others. Pirate radio would air the Puffy news. For money reasons I guess mainstream media didn't want to touch it. Puffy was making lots of money for people - radio, record labels, publishing houses, selling products all of it. Puffy's work was making lot of people money and keeping them in work.

It is known that -

Puffy beat up a woman on a college/University campus way back in his 20s.

Puffy shot a woman in the face in a New York club. The gun was taken into the club by JLo (puffys girlfriend at the time). The woman has always said who shot her. No charge were taken on by the police.

Puffy broke Kim Porters nose. Kim didn't press charges.

Puffy having parental guardianship of Usher when he was 13/14. What's that about?

Usher having parental guardianship of Justin Bieber before he was 16. What's that about?

There is so many, many allegations.

Puffy is a man that Clive Davis signed a 50/50 record deal with when Puffy was 21 or 22. Why did that happen? I don't think it was about takent.

Unble to edit. I want to add to the club shooting I referenced above.

The case did go to court in New York however Puffy bribed people in the jury so he got off and the rapper Shyne went to prison for the crime.

There have been many many many whispers about Clive Davis’s behaviour going back decades. They will wait until he dies like Jimmy Saville, it will all come out and industry people will act shocked but glad he’s no longer around to name names.

I think this too

Time to buy all of Dione Warwick and 50 Cent's back catalogues.

Yep. 50 Cent said it with his chest when he was on radio saying that Puffy offers to take men shopping to feel them out. To see what he could get away with, with them.

I paraphrase as 50 used different words.

I've been doing some digging and 50 Cent has apparently been talking about Diddy for a while. He said that the reason celebrities didn't speak out was because many were involved:

“Some of them were involved, at the parties and enjoyed themselves, so they don’t know what the fuck is on tape or what’s not on tape, so they’re not going to say anything because they might have had too much fun.”

I read before that he has been denied bail despite offering 50 million. (Daily mail) so may not be the full story but he's staying in prison according to that!

Ignore this, I didn't read the thread as well as I thought as people have already posted he didn't get bail 😳

belugaheightss · 18/09/2024 20:44

People most definitely knew. It's a case of tell and suffer consequences or stay silent and safe. It's not right of course. These high profile people are all blackmailed, including Diddy himself so telling would lead to your darkest secrets being exposed. Hollywood is a dog eat dog world and Diddy pissed off the wrong person that's why this is all coming out!! May God bless all victims (famous and not) and comfort them. So sad.

That’s not strictly true re JS, the police in some cases, decided not to investigate, they actively protected him, and then would pop round his house for tea. It’s not all about victims dropping complaints, it’s about the police refusing to do their job.

Thanks

I’m surprised there hadn’t been a full Me-Too movement in the music industry. There isn’t a social media site which doesn’t contain allegations about very prominent singers, rockers, bands, and rappers from the 1960s onwards.

Household names coming up time and time again from different people. Abusive situations like Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith were celebrated in the tabloid press!

Its a cesspit which attracts abusive men who are given cover by sycophants wanting money and their own turn to be the rich bully. If he’s so inclined the star knows he can probably get away with murder and be protected. they are egged on to become more depraved by our circle who just want free drugs and money.

Diddy’s abusive ways and ripping off artists has been known for ages but he was protected by other very powerful abusers. I wonder if he will name names?

I think Puffy will say some names. Not sure why but I think he'll want to take at least 1 person down with him.

The stealing of copyright is what angers me. I hope he loses everything. Just like some of the creators he has ripped off.

Why after #metoo are women being sexually abused by powerful men and what can be done about it?

Men are unlikely to face the consequences of ill treatment of women regardless of their status. For every powerful man who’s been exposed, it’s only a fraction of their crimes which are made public plus there’s millions of regular men who are also treating women badly.

People like R Kelly do get caught but it’s got to be a case of people like Diddy knowing that he’s unlikely to face his comeuppance - especially in a country like the US where being able to afford the best legal defence and knowing the dirt about other VIPs will get you better prison circumstances.

Take the example of Epstein. Where is his client list ? Why is Ghislaine the only one who has been put behind bars?

It isn't just about being able to pay the lawyers it is also about the out of court settlements with NDAs

People did speak out on Saville but they were hushed. The police couldn't do anything, many people protected him and doing so means they were protecting themselves. Their jobs and their privilege in society.

The same with Puffy. People have been speaking on his criminal behaviour since the 1990s and no one took them seriously. This happened in North America, to mostly black victims, most likely regular people who are not rich so no they didn't have a chance for justice at that time. When Cassie served Puffy last year with her lawsuit, again, a lot of people were defending Puffy and asked why didn't Cassie leave she's only after the money. It is/was ridiculous.

Why are women being used and abused today, like yesterday, and throughout history? Because no one really cares. They just talk, say the right things etc but there is little actual action in the moment. Not everyone wants to step in when they see something happen. They don't want to report it to the police. They hope someone else will do it. I'm not saying this is right, it's just what I see.

That’s not strictly true re JS, the police in some cases, decided not to investigate, they actively protected him, and then would pop round his house for tea. It’s not all about victims dropping complaints, it’s about the police refusing to do their job.

I had the misfortune to be working at an event he was at in the early 00s. He is a nasty, violent man.

@TooBigForMyBoots can you tell us more? What did he do?

notaurewhatusername · 18/09/2024 07:53

You have to remember that when someone is rich and powerful they have access to the BEST lawyers and therefore, it can take years to build up a case strong enough to make sure someone gets convicted. As I don't think you can get tried for the same crimes twice.

Therefore in a case like this, I can see why it's taken so long - I'd rather the police wait a bit longer to make sure he goes down then go in too early and loose on some silly technicalities.

poppyzbrite4 · 18/09/2024 00:17

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/09/2024 23:49

People did speak out and they were silenced @poppyzbrite4. They were threatened with violence. They were threatened by lawyers. Their careers were ended. They were bought off.

Jimmy Saville and the @MeToo movement could have been a watershed moment in the treatment of women in the entertainment industry and across society. Unsurprisingly that's not how it worked out.

I have been looking for information on this but can't find anything. I can only see allegations going back to the 90s that have come from recent lawsuits.

Do you have an article that details this please?

Do you understand those who observed Jimmy Saville raping children in hospitals as well

Nobody observed this. You can deplore what he did without being a twit.

You obviously know nothing about the case. Hospital staff have said that they knew what Savile was doing but because he brought in so much funding, they turned a blind eye. He was called a nonce and kiddy fiddler by the staff.

In the investigation it was uncovered that BBC management were aware of his abuse, particularly his preference for young boys but covered it up.

There was a children's home I remember reading about an enquiry in the 80s I think and again 20 years later when the children were adults. Both enquiries concluded that there was "Nothing to see here"

Nothing changes.

It was well known what happened, nurses told children to pretend to be asleep when he was there. They knew. They did not do enough.
