Your nearly 30/ 40/ 50

To find that annoying when your 27/ 28
Now 38 hearing nearly 40.
Maybe the 7,8,9 s shouldn't exist. !!
2 or 3 years is a long enough time imo.
In my head I'm eye rolling.
Is 29 not as interesting as 30?
Is 38 just seen as 40?
Is 57 just 60?

I'm nearly 57, but consider myself nearly 60. I want to do something special for it. My DD is 30 next year, but has considered herself nearly 30 for a few years. It's just how people think of things differently.

I cannot be the only one that finds it annoying, in a kind of you will be this age soon, when soon is 2 + years away.
Also being older is somehow negative in life ?
It's never said in a really nice way.
Am I suppose to feel bad or something?

You sound obsessed with numerical ages and numbers generally. Nothing wrong with that..but There's no meaningful difference from one second before your birthday to one second at the beginning of it. You're exactly the same and look exactly the same!
I was told I looked 51 the other day. I said 'I'd be fucking chuffed if I looked like this and I was 51!' maybe that's the way forward. I'm a really decent looking 74...🤣

Well 38 IS nearly 40. If you have hang ups about turning 40, it doesn't change the fact.

I didn't want to hear the word 30 when I late late 20s and I don't like hearing the 40 when I'm late 30s.
It's rude imo.

Luckily not many do it but it's usually those 25 / 30 + years older than me.
Or so your nearly 30 was negative in my mind.
And the same at 38. Am I not allowed to enjoy my 30s or any decade towards the later half.. ?
