Just read that Hugh Edwards ahs been given a suspended sentence.

And if course it's not his fault. He had a mean Daddy and some mental health issues and some bad things going on in his life, poor lamb.

All that made him say 'amazing' when sent photos of children as young as 7 being molested.

Having a rough time and a strict father doesn't make you a fucking paedophile!!!

Take responsibility for your predatory and vile behaviour!!

CSA, is also about the 'repetition compulsion'. In other words, these men repeat behaviour that they themselves experienced as children. Not condoning by any means. Utterly sickened by it all.

How many women have been sexually abused as children?

Yet women tend not to sexually abuse children.

If they do, it's almost always in the company of a man.

I would be most interested to see the full credentials of the 'Psychosexual therapist' in question.

Many years ago I worked with a MAP (multi-agency protection) initative for the rehabilitation of sexual offenders.

You're aware of the other, generally online use of that acronym?

I too thought that.
I'd never heard of MAP's until they wanted addition to the 'Pride' flag.

Minor Attracted Persons = Paedophiles

And one of those was re arrested the same day for sexually assaulting a woman

Wonder which family member is getting the blame for that one?

Probably the mother, after all women get the blame for all the wrongdoing men commit!

If you receive without asking, a post on your phone and open it without knowing what was inside, only to discover it has illegal photos you would delete them, of course. However, years later the police do a deep search your phone, which will lead you to being in court for having indecent photos. You would have to admit to being guilty, you couldn’t deny it, the photos are there deep in your delete records.
‘Making" indecent images can have a wide legal definition’ it can include: opening an email attachment containing an image.

But this is NOT what Huw Edward’s did , he paid money to receive illegal images in which children , note children were being abused .
Wish people would stop using this excuse for him.

awaynboilyurheid · 16/09/2024 19:37

Disgusted about the suspended sentence, he should have went to jail.

You get sent to prison rioting but not for this..

Mind you… under Labour, 1700 prisoners ( some sex offenders ) were released from prison and sent back into the community last week.

So what do you expect?

It’s fucking madness is what it is.

Despite all the news coverage, I am still just boggling at the kinds of men out there. Overwhelmingly, the reports suggest that a man in any level of power seeks to abuse that power sexually. It's jaw-dropping! I cannot compute it all. Why is it an adjunct aspect to 'power'? How do these men continue to exist and yet they do.

I don't disagree about men....but I find it disturbing to attribute CSA to power alone. It is a total perversion - pure and simple. In no context is it normal to sexualise children - doing so is absolutely not 'normal' and inherently unnatural.

Why is there so often more than a hint of mother obsession, in these matters. Philip Schofield was the same...

FOJN · 16/09/2024 19:25

StMarieforme · 16/09/2024 16:10

I agree his sentence is deplorable.

But all of you saying women never do it...

2,200 in 2019 convicted female paedophiles. Number has risen year on year.

There are 76 cities in the U.K.

That's about 30 per city.

Please don't be complacent when safeguarding children by assuming women are not paedophiles.

This may reflect an increasing number of women committing sexual offences against children but the data cannot be relied upon to be accurate because not all offenders recorded as women are actually female.

I don’t see why he, and others like him, can’t be castrated. I also think a 6month stint in prison (not locked up with other paedophiles) on the regular wings is just what he needs to ensure he never does anything like this again. He’d be bloody sorry then.

No thanks. You do realise that sort of thing puts staff at risk?

Ifoughthefight · 16/09/2024 19:24

that is all your BBC. Saville, this one, the same lot. Keep watching your shite national tv

Perhaps they fear what ' ordinary decent criminals' might do to the likes of him, if they were to put him behind bars...

Apparently a call for a "sexual harm prevention order" was rejected.

https://x.com/JournalismSEEN/status/1835652151709716658

The magistrate even rejected a call for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which would allow the authorities to monitor Edwards’ social media use.

I have Twitter blocked, but it's said elsewhere that the Chief Magistrate felt he's "not a danger to the public" so denied it - except I thought that monitoring SM use was supposed to be a necessary part of the ongoing process?

Do the infamous "sentencing guidelines" apply here, or is it something that's left to the discretion of individual magistrates - and if so why?

MrsTigerface · 16/09/2024 19:13

BlackShuck3 · 16/09/2024 18:35

The unpleasant truth is that a large sector of human males are extremely prone to becoming sexually excited by the vulnerability of children.

I presume they are overwhelmed with pleasure because they are able to totally dominate and control the victim; turn the child into a human sex toy which they have trained for their personal sexual gratification.
Men like young women because they are naïve & easy to exploit, a child is like this but the thrill is supercharged because the child has no power at all compared to the man.

You are so right. Dear Lord, I wish that you weren’t. But you are. Some men are just so, so awful.

His name is Huw. Huw Edwards. I realise it’s not the focus of the post, but using correct names matters. Huw.

Should be mandatory castration.

Even that doesn't work on some of them.
