Accusing women of being men

Brigette Macron has just been awarded compensation after a rumour that she's a man went viral. Michelle Obama has also been accused of being a man as has Jacinda Ahern.

Why are famous women being accused of being men?

This was taken so seriously that Macron won compensation! You'd think it could be shrugged off as lunacy but people believe it. Have you seen the Obama video? There's a video of her dancing and it looks like she's got a bulge. I don't know if it's been doctored or not, I assumed it was just the material of her trousers.

You’d think actually giving birth would be sufficient for claims about Obama or Williams in these circumstances, wouldn’t you?

There are even claims that some women haven't been pregnant. Both Beyonce and Megan Markle have been accused of faking pregnancies.

These people will claim that the Obamas adopted or had a surrogate.

Based on nothing at all.

Have you got the medical report to hand? I wasn’t aware it had been published. You might want to note that believing what a number of medical specialists “believe” to be likely, is not evidence, but a racist, misogynistic assumption that tall, Arab women must really be men and that opinions are more important than fact.

Your accusations here of racism and misogyny is 'noted'.

If you are waiting for any organisation to publish the medical test outcomes, that will never happen unless either Khelif chooses to, or it is done as part of a witness statement in court.

Do you believe that any male person who has a body that has been virilised via processing the testosterone that their testes produce or have produced should be allowed to compete as a female in female sports categories?

@poppyzbrite4 - have you known any sensible people claim this rather than mad heads frothing on Twitter or American right wing podcasts? I must admit it’s only online lunatics I’ve heard spout such guff.

I actually think it is really important to stress that there is a significant difference in the situation facing Michelle Obama and the situation that has been experienced by the boxer, Khelif.

One, a female person who is being accused of being male based on no evidence at all.

One, a male person who has been tested to show that they do not have XX chromosomes. And before anyone starts to go down that path, no, chromosomes are not the only element considered when correctly categorising a human body as being male or female.

A female human is the one with the body formed around the production of large gametes regardless of whether that body produces those large gametes or not. This is partly indicated by chromosomes. However, no female human on earth has working testes. No female human on earth has had a body that has been virilised as a male body through production of testosterone from their testes.

There is not even any statements about Michelle Obama from any professional organisation that she is not female. The comparison is completely false and irrelevant.

The boxer didn't just not conform to female stereotypes, she didn't conform to female chromosomes..

But I am happy to leave and let you all argue about chromosomes.

Thanks

Batshit!

No. I never said that 70 million people agreed with me.

That is just more of your performative hyperbole.

I did say that the majority of the UK don't believe that male people should be competing in female sports categories.

Do you believe that any male person who has a body that has been virilised via processing the testosterone that their testes produce or have produced should be allowed to compete as a female in female sports categories?

But none of you can see the absolute insane hypocrisy of what you are saying.

The thread is literally about how there are some women who have been called men because they don’t fit gender norms.

But when it’s a boxer that also doesn’t look like gender norms and that you all THINK is a man because she looks male ( and there have been some unproved accusations in the media) , that’s somehow different?!

You are all so far down the fucking gender ideology rabbit hole it’s absolutely incredible.

I don’t subscribe to gender ideology so no, it’s not that incredible. I’m fine with biological
reality thanks.

The two boxers weren’t plucked out of obscurity for looking ‘a bit masculine’, they were disqualified after tests by INDEPENDENT reputable labs after concerns surrounding their eligibility. They did not appeal this disqualification. Well one did then withdrew. Their own teams have admitted chromosomal problems.

What female, if they had no DSD giving an advantage over females, would allow this to happen? A simple cheek swab would put all this to bed. I’d be waving the fucking result from the rooftops. Funny how this has not been forthcoming.

Until this ambiguity is sorted no female should be getting punched in the face in elite sport.

The irony of you accusing me, and others of being wrapped up in gender ideology with the arguments (and I’m being kind here) you have presented is what’s incredulous.

Mad ideology?

Blimey. You are doing a great job. Please do keep it going!

My 'mad ideology' is actually the same as the majority of the UK population. Shall I link up the multiple polls that show that the UK population (and I can link up some from other countries too) do not support male people competing in female sports events where those male people have been through male puberty.

Great that you think the majority of the UK population is also 'mad' and 'grim' and whatever you are choosing to throw at people who disagree with you.

There is no 'hypocrisy' in what we are saying.

Only because you choose to believe that a male person who was incorrectly registered as being female at birth is a female athlete.

This is not based on 'looks'.

On the contrary. It is based on chromosomal testing that has been published as far as it is legally possible and verified by THREE boxing confederations. Plus confirmed by the statements from or relating to three medical specialists.

Your posts are great hyperbole though. It is really entertaining to see.

OMG just listen to yourself.

It’s utterly grim speculating about the chromosomes of an athlete in the public domain because you think something. And now you are scraping around to find evidence for it.

This thread is absolutely awful, it really is.

It isn't because anyone thinks anything.

It is because men punching women and winning medals for it, isn't actually good. Or fair to the women who trained their whole lives to compete in the olympics.

His own manager said he was devastated when his results came through. But yet he still managed to punch enough women to win a gold medal.

He could easily have done a cheek swab and put all this to bed.

SpiderGwen · 13/09/2024 13:54

LimeFawn · 13/09/2024 13:35

I haven’t been on or commented on any other threads so stop making stuff up about me too.

You have zero evidence for your claims apart from some stuff you have read in the media. You haven’t seen her medical records - it’s all based on speculation.

And it’s utterly grim.

This is just plain silly. Khelif was eligible to box because the IOC took over from the previous governing body because of financial corruption. (Corruption in boxing? Say it ain’t so…)

Unlike individual governing bodies, the IOC doesn’t segregate sport by sex.

Khelif’s test was not done by a Russian cabal, ffs, it was done by an accredited lab. The statements released by the lab, the governing body and Khelif’s own team confirm that they have “chromosomes inconsistent with a female profile,” male-level testosterone and have been given testosterone suppressants.

Khelif’s specifics are correctly private. We don’t know for 100% certain which DSD affects them. What we do know is they were registered at birth as female but went through male puberty. As such, competing in women’s sport is dangerous to their opponents.

Doctors Ross Tucker and Emma Hilton are both experts in this area and have been very clear on the situation.

This is absolutely nothing to do with racists and misogynists claiming Michelle Obama isn’t a woman.

This isn’t a trans bunfight, either - or shouldn’t be. This is about men with DSDs trying to opt into women’s sport to win medals.

People who go through male puberty put women’s lives at risk if they compete in women’s sport. There is no justification for that.

LimeFawn · 13/09/2024 13:54

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 13/09/2024 13:49

With all the valid ambiguity of whether they have a chromosomal disorder thus giving an unfair advantage over females (particularly in a sport like boxing), you are INSISTING this boxer is female. So by your reasoning until you are sure i.e. have seen their medical records, you should be piping down too, no?

And this is your argument? How weak is this.

So, apparently, no one is allowed to comment on published information without personally seeing it? Gosh.... imagine that! How the fuck do you navigate the world?

Your arguments are weak. Your comparison is completely irrelevant too.

I am happy to keep repeating it and while I am at it, I can start to provide the links with the published information.

https://www.iba.sport/news/iba-reaffirms-the-position-and-removal-of-boxers-from-all-events/

Here is the French article where Khelif's team released more information.

www.lepoint.fr/sport/exclusif-jo-2024-imane-khelif-a-ete-aneantie-de-decouvrir-d-un-seul-coup-qu-elle-pourrait-ne-pas-etre-une-fille-09-08-2024-2567609_26.php

Oh. So you haven't been 'on' the threads about Khelif. So, I guess you never bothered to get more information then. Just took a prejudiced view point on what was contained in those threads.

Good to know. Sorry that I assumed you were someone else.

Can I recommend that you actually read the threads. Because there is quite a bit of information there that shows just how irrelevant your comparison of Khelif with Michelle Obama really is.

IBA reaffirms the position and removal of boxers from all events, aims to protect female boxers, and condemns both the International Olympic Committee and World Boxing for allowing ineligible athletes to compete

Further to the IBA statement made yesterday evening regarding the removal of ineligible athletes from all IBA female competitions, we reiterate our stance and firm position. IBA remains committed in ensuring competitive fairness in all of our events,...
